Chapter 51

Something hit my stomach, sending a searing pain shooting through me. I stood there in shock, my hands slowly coming up to my stomach. I looked down, and my white shirt slowly turned red. The sound of Pearl running to me as she cried out my name rang through my ears. Pulling my blood-soaked hands up, I stared at them in a state of shock. Looking back up to Ava, still standing there with the gun pointed at me.

I turned to look at Brax, still holding my hands out in front of me. I was in shock at what had just happened. "the baby" was all I could get out. Time felt like it was moving so slowly.
