I rolled over as the sun hit my face; slowly opening my eyes, I looked over to the chair Brax had been sitting in to find that he was gone. Sitting up, I let my eyes adjust to the brightness in the room. I felt at peace that night, falling asleep in his arms. Every worry that I had faded away, and I was back to feeling how I had before Kane had ripped me away from Brax. I stay there for a few minutes, pulling myself together, before gathering my things and going out into the waiting room. The lady at the front desk handed me all the paperwork I needed, giving me a warm smile as she did. Nick stood up and came over to me. "Come on, let's get you over to the Pack House to have lunch with Brax." I could tell by the way he looked at me that he knew I was struggling with my emotions. I didn't speak in the car; I just sat there staring at the papers on my lap. I had so many other things to worry about, and I couldn't let myself stress over this when it was something I had no control over. I had to pull myself together before I sore Brax. I knew that if I walked into his office sad and worrying, he would fuss over me, and right now, I didn't want that. Nick walked me into the pack house, taking me to Brax's office. "Alpha has been called out, but he won't be long. He told me to get you to wait here for him." Nick pointed over to the lounge in his office.
