Chapter 232: "A wrong invite."

Priam is waiting in the parking lot by the time I get there and there’s a worried look on his face.

His brows are creased, the lines of his face sport a frown, and even though I wear a confused look on my face, the expression on his face doesn’t fall and neither does it falter.

He sounds gruff when he speaks, “Welcome.”

I nod almost warily and stare at him from the corner of my vision, confused. My voice betrays my current emotions as I respond,

“Thank you. I got your text.”

Priam nods and moves from the hood of his car to the door. He opens it, picks something up, and walks back to me.

He doesn’t hand it over as I expect him to, instead, he turns his head to look at me with that frown still on his face.

To say I'm flustered would be an understatement. I glare at him and ask questioningly, “What?”

Priam doesn’t assuage my fears as he gives a scoff and neither does he relent in staring at me like that. My impatience peaks a lot quicker than I’d have expected it and when I speak to him
