Chapter 4

That day Kate went from her house to the Mansion, she took the bus to get there with a sweet smile on her face, she never thought she could work in such a big place with such a nice employer and a pretty high salary with not a difficult job. The rules given are not difficult rules to implement, as a maid she must obey what her employer tells her to do.

Kate got off at the bus stop closest to the mansion, it was 9 am, she could come to the mansion without fear of meeting Matthew because that was the only thing she was forbidden. She only needs to walk about 5 to 7 minutes to arrive at the mansion, the guard there welcomes Kate and she enters through the big gate, still with the same smile.

As she approached the entrance, the door opened, Nicole came out and smiled when she saw Kate coming.

"Morning Kate," Nicole said.

"Morning ma'am, sorry if I'm a little late," Kate said.

"Oh never mind, you came just in time, is this the only item you will be bringing to live here?" Nicole said.

"Yes ma'am I don't have much stuff just a few clothes I brought" Kate said and Nicole just nodded.

"Then go to your room to tidy up your things after that meet Raya and you can share tasks with her," Nicole said and Kate went to her room underground.

When she came down from the stairs, she saw Raya eating her breakfast, it was almost noon and she had just eaten her breakfast.

"Morning," Kate said.

"Morning Kate, have you had breakfast?" Raya said.

"Yeah, I made my mom one last breakfast before I left and settled here," Kate said.

"You can still meet your mother on holidays, Mrs. Nicole gives her maids a long holiday, so you don't need to worry," Raya said.

"Raya can I ask something?" Kate said, she sat beside Raya.

"Yes please, what do you want to ask?" Raya said.

"Why Mrs.. Nicole want a maid who can be a good listener? I mean that's not a normal thing that people apply for jobs," Kate said.

"Out of 7 days, Mr. Matt only has 2 days on weekends to accompany Mrs. Nicole, they usually go for a walk or spend the day at home, and the rest of the day she spends with us her maids, while I work here, I never see her going alone, or going out with her friends, she always goes with Mr. Matt, so she spends a lot of time just here, at her house, she likes to tell stories, and she likes it when we listen to her," Raya said.

"Did Mr Matt forbid her to leave without him?" Kate said.

"I don't know but from what she told us, she just doesn't like going out with other people besides her Alpha, and one important thing you have to remember, don't ever talk about children in front of her," Raya said.

"Why?" Kate said.

"It's a secret, I'm sure she'll tell you about it too, but don't show any reaction when she says it, she's barren, for 7 years married to Mr Matt, she can't have children, whenever she sees anything related to small children she will very emotional and crying non-stop, her parents also died because of illness, I know how it feels, it must be very painful, she has to survive and maintain her relationship with Mr. Matt," Raya said.

"What do you mean? Isn't it, it won't affect their relationship? I mean, everything was predestined and if they can be together now that's their destiny right, why should she maintain their relationship?" Kate said.

"Kate, children are an important thing for Alpha and Omega, for Alpha, children especially boys are pride and self-esteem for him, and for Omega, children are something that can strengthen the relationship between her and her Alpha, there is no separation if they already have a child, but it's another matter if this relationship goes without children in it, maybe Mr. Matt will still accept Mrs. Nicole because of love, but what about Mr. Matt's parents? After finishing cleaning part of the mansion, Kate decided to rest first, she sat in the backyard with sweat on her forehead. She hasn't had a hard time because it's her first day at work, it's just that she's thinking about her mother, must be lonely because she doesn't have Kate beside her, but if she doesn't work her mother won't be able to recover, there won't be any treatment and that means her condition will get worse day by day.

While Kate was enjoying the evening breeze, Nicole suddenly came over to her, without hesitation she sat beside Kate, making Kate surprised and turned to her.

"Ma'am," Kate said and she quickly got up from the chair, but Nicole pulled her back into the chair.

"It's fine, you can stay seated when I approach you, I don't want any boundaries between me and my maid, we are both Omegas, it's just that I found my Alpha first and you guys haven't found it yet" Nicole said.

"Do you need anything ma'am?" Kate said.

"No, I don't need anything, I just want to sit and enjoy the sky this evening, isn't it beautiful to see it from here?" Nicole said and Kate just nodded.

"Kate," Nicole said.

"Yes ma'am," Kate said.

"How is your mother?" Nicole said.

"I don't know, it's been a very long time since I took my mother to the hospital to check her condition and at that time I could only pray that my mother would recover, but now I can only see her pale face and her body which is getting weaker and weaker every day, even though she always shows me if she's okay," Kate said.

"How about this week, you take your mother to the hospital?" Nicole said.

"What do you mean ma'am? I don't have the money to take my mom there but once I get my first paycheck I will take her," Kate said.

"That's taking too long, your mother needs to be dealt with quickly, you don't have to worry about the cost, I'll pay for it and it's not a debt, I won't cut your salary," Nicole said.

"W-What? but, why did you do it ma'am? I mean, I just started working here and you've done so much for me," Kate says.

"My parents died of illness, exactly a year after I married Matt, I feel sorry for not being able to do the best for them at that time, if I had been more sensitive to their condition maybe I could have taken care of them before they died," Nicole said, she didn't look at Kate when she told that, her eyes stared straight at the beautiful sky that evening, but you can't be fooled there was sadness there, Kate who turned towards her was just silent.
