Damien pov

I stood at the main entrance of the packhouse, my arms crossed as I waited for Marcus to arrive. Adol stirred uneasily, sensing the tension in the air. He had always been looking for an opportunity to tear at Marcus.

‘Relax, Adol,’ I tell him. ‘There is no need to fight. We are just here to talk.’

‘Are you sure about that? I neither trust nor like that man.’

‘Same with me. But that doesn’t mean we should fight him.’

‘What if he wants to fight us? What if he wants to enter the house by force?’

‘I won’t allow that to happen,’ I answered, stepping forward to intercept the elder as I just sighted him. Marcus approached, his brisk strides and sharp expression giving away his annoyance.

“Damien,” Marcus greeted, his tone clipped. “My assistant informed me that there are visitors from Crewwood inside the packhouse. Is that true?”

I gave a short nod to acknowledge him, my expression calm but firm. “Elder Marcus. It is true.”

His eyes narrowed. “Then I want to see them. It’s not e

Lyra’s povSeeing that Denise was not responding to my calls, I decided to touch her to bring her back to earth. I wonder what could make her to be so lost in thought like this. She nearly jumped out of her skin when my hand reached her arm. I apologized for startling her and asked if everything was okay with her. She tried to downplay it, but I knew there was something wrong.Anyway, I walked her back to the room since she said she would not be coming down for dinner. Maybe a good night's rest will help her, like she said. Yet, I wondered what could worry her like this. Denise is not a woman that things get to so easily. I sighed and turned around to head to my room.I believed she was lying when she said Luke looked like someone she knows. As far as I know, Luke never ventured into the human city for anything. But then, why was she interested in him? Could it be that he was the source of her worry? What a silly thought, I chide myself. They are meeting for the first time today, so

Damien’s povThat was all the answer I needed. I smiled, came down from the bed, and pulled her toward the edge of the bed until her feet were on the ground. I didn’t know whether she could stand steady with the way her body was still shaking from the org*sm. So I held her to steady her, but surprisingly, she stood firm.I turn her around so she back is facing me.“Now, bend over, and let me fuck you,” I told her.She did and then raised her ass up for my full view. This was intoxicating; and my wolf groaned at the sight as I grabbed her ass and brought them closer to me. I released a moan as I put my cock into her hole and thrust.I thrust again and again as she moaned in pleasure. I put a hand in her hair, pulling her head back. My tongue traces her neck, flicking it over her mark. She moans as my teeth scrape the mark. I knew it was just as sensitive as her clit, and she couldn't get enough.I thrust up into her again, a mixture of pain and pleasure tears through my body, as I felt

LyraMy father is a respected husband and father, a model citizen, a role model to the youth, and a revered elder of our pack. Yet from the first day I was born, he wanted me dead.I thought getting married to Alpha Damian was going to protect me from him, but his long hands of hatred still reached me there. And now, because of him, my husband wants me dead.My name is Elyra Forte and I am on the run.My breath came in ragged gasps, each step sending sharp jolts of pain through my body. The weight of my pregnancy slowed me down, but I couldn’t stop. I couldn’t risk being caught—not now, not ever. The thick forest canopy above me blocked out most of the moonlight, casting eerie shadows that made the underbrush even more treacherous. But I had to keep going. My father’s voice still echoed in my mind, cold and calculating. “Once she gives birth, we’ll dispose of her. No one will stand in our way - not even Damian. He has served his purpose.”I had never been close to my father, but I n

Damian“Where is she?” I snarled, my voice echoing in the silent room. The guards standing before me exchanged nervous glances, their eyes flicking to the floor as if it would save them from my wrath.“We… we don’t know, Alpha,” one of them stammered, his voice trembling. “We haven’t seen her since this afternoon.”“Are you telling me,” I growled, stepping closer, “that my wife left this house without anyone noticing?”One of the guards flinched, his face pale. “I-I’m sorry, Alpha. We thought she went to see her parents.”“Are you crazy? She’d already come back from that place.”“Sorry alpha. We were stationed at the gates as usual. We didn’t see her leave.”“Useless,” I spat, turning away from them. My hands clenched into fists as I stared out the window, my mind racing. Lyra was gone. She had left without a word, without permission …and with my child in her belly. Fury surged through me at the thought. She knew better than to defy me, to disobey the rules of this household. LyraThe warm sunlight filtered through the window as I sat with Calista, sipping the tea she had prepared. Calista is the wife of Alpha Jaxon of the Crewwood pack, who had graciously accepted to accomodate me in their home. His wife has been a good friend since I arrived.“Do you ever think about how different things could have been?” Calista asked, her voice soft as she stared out at the forest beyond the window.I glanced at her, sensing the weight behind her question. “All the time,” I admitted. “Growing up, I used to dream about my mate — how he’d sweep me off my feet, and how we’d be so in love from the moment we met. I was naïve, I suppose.”Calista smiled, but there was a hint of sadness in her eyes. “We all had those dreams at some point. It’s hard not to, with all the stories we hear as children.”I nodded, my mind drifting back to those innocent days when I believed in fairy tales. “When I met Damian… I thought maybe, just maybe, those dreams could come true. I don’t know what I would have done if you hadn’t taken me in.”Calista waved her hand dismissively as she took a seat beside me. “Nonsense. You needed help, and we were here. That’s all there is to it. Besides,” she added, her eyes twinkling as she looked down at my son, “we couldn’t very well turn you away, not with this little one on the way.”“Yet, you could have sent me back or even kept me anywhere else in your pack. Why did you choose to keep me in the main pack house with your family?”“Well, it was the alpha’s call,” Calista said, throwing her hands in the air. “Jaxon said something about repaying for past sins. I don’t even understand what he was saying but I’m glad you are here. I love your friendship.” Tears welled up in my eyes again, but this tim

DamianThe house was empty. Silent. Even though Omegas move around doing their duties, it feels silent without Lyra’s presence. It's not the same without her. It seems life has gone from this packhouse. It had been that way ever since Lyra disappeared. Every corner seemed to echo with the absence of her presence, a void that I couldn’t seem to fill no matter how hard I tried. I should have been relieved. She had been nothing more than a duty to me, a marriage arranged by the elders, bound by tradition. I should have been glad that she was no longer a distraction. And yet, I wasn’t. I wasn’t even close to being relieved.‘Guy, I hate to be the one to tell,’ Adol buzzed in my head. ‘But I told you so. I warned you about the way you were treating her.’‘Oh, shut up.’ I shut him down even though I knew he was right. He did warn me. But I was too angry to admit it.Sitting alone in my study, I stared at the glass of whiskey in my hand, swirling the amber liquid aimlessly. The memories of

  • Luna Lyra   What will she do?

From what she told me, she was closer to the Luna of that pack. So, she might not know this guy that well. So what am I going to do now? Should I keep quiet and pretend that I didn’t just find my mate? A mate that I have been praying for all these while? Then what happens after tomorrow when they go home? Should I go back and talk to him about the mate bond? No, the mate bond is a strong pull, and the wolves that feel it are not able to resist it. You can try to resist it for a while, especially if you are a ranked member of a pack. Yeah, it comes with the training, but eventually, you have to do something about it. I think I should relax, go to bed, and wait for tomorrow to see what happens.I thought I was still walking towards my room, not knowing that I had stopped and was literally standing in one place. As I stood there, my thoughts kept drifting back to that man. The beta, my mate. I couldn’t shake the feeling that this was far from over. If he truly was my mate, we’d have to

We have enough food and drinks for all of you.”“Don’t worry, Lyra. We are good,” the man said, touching Lyra’s arm tenderly. If I didn't know better I would say he was flirting with my brother’s wife. I wonder if he is aware of what his scent is doing to my wolf. To me.Axel, my wolf, has been so sure as soon as we entered this room that he is the one. She has been prancing in my head, and I could feel her pushing forward, whispering, no, shouting the word: Mate. Axel wanted me to jump him as soon as we identified where the smell was coming from. But that would be rash. Besides I am the woman here and he is the man. Although since we are not entirely human, a woman can go to a man. I, for one, don’t have any reservati

I took his hand gently, marveling at how small it was.“Come, let me carry you a bit,” I said to Leo, stretching out my hand. To my pleasant surprise, he agreed. He stretched both of his hands, and I lifted him up. “Oh, you are quite a big boy.”He gave me a sweet, goofy smile as I bounced him around in my arms.“He’s beautiful, Lyra,” I said, glancing up at my sister-in-law. “You and Damien have every reason to be proud.”Lyra’s smile was radiant. “We are. He’s our little miracle.”“Now, you are making me want a pup of my own,” I smiled, still looking at Leo.“Oh, but you will have your own. And not just one but many pups. My smile tightened. “Thank you. It’s been an adjustment but a rewarding one.”Denise was a vision in power dressing. Her crisp white blouse, tailored to perfection, accentuated her sharp collarbones. A sleek black pencil skirt hugged her curves, while a sharp blazer completed the look, exuding an air of confidence and professionalism. Her hair, usually worn in loose waves, was pulled back into a polished chignon, showcasing her delicate features. A pair of classic pumps, their heels clicking confidently against the floor of the offic, completed the ensemble. She probably dressed this way in order to impress my father. Although, to her credit, Denise always knows how to dress up. Anywhere she is going, she knows how to look sharp. She knows just the right outfit that will complement her figures and for the event. I smiled faintly. Still, I am sure she picked this outfit today at the new firm, determined to make a lasting impression on not just my father but the people at …. The sile

The room is downstairs while ours is upstairs.”“I don’t quite get you. Can you explain further?” I asked her.Lyra turned in my arms, her brows furrowed. “I don’t think it’s a good idea. I’d prefer it if he had a room close to our bedroom upstairs. That way, I can feel secure knowing he’s safe and within our reach, especially after…” S
