Adira’s POV It felt amazing to finally be out of the bedroom for the first time in five days, although I loved that those five days were spent with Alpha Liam. Walking down the stairs and hearing everyone in the dining room having breakfast put a smile on my face, especially when we walked hand and hand into the dining room and everyone was seated at our table. Lyra was the first to see us and she quickly stood and ran to me giving me a bear hug. “I was so worried I would never see you again.” Lyra said and I held her close to me because I was too worried that I would never see her alive again. “I’m so happy that you are okay. You gave us all a scare.” I tell her as we pull away from the embrace. “Nah, a little poison isn’t going to do me in.” Lyra said with a smile and I was happy to see she still had her sense of humor after everything that had happened. Looking over at the table, I saw Ali staring at Lyra and I and could see the longing in her eyes for us to be as close a
Adira’s POV My eyes instantly went to Ali to see her reaction to what Alpha Zane just said. I knew out of the two of us she was going to be the one upset by this news, since father had her fooled her whole life. To my surprise Ali just lowered her head and I wondered what she was thinking. Had she come to terms with the fact that father had used her all these years, since she was now one of us? “I have to agree with you. It is the only way that they will see that we aren’t going to continue to allow them to rule and make matches among our packs to suit their needs.” Alpha Liam says back to Alpha Zane agreeing with him and he knows where I stand on this matter. Ali then raises her head and looks at Alpha Liam and then at me and I can now see the confusion in her eyes on how she feels about this matter. Knowing I need to say something to make her understand, I say, “My father had a true mate.” Everyone in the room gasped as they all looked at me in awe at what I had just announced
Liam’s POV As Alpha Zane and I finish the final preparations to head back to Crimson, he looks at me and asks, “How do you really think Adira will take what is about to happen?” “I honestly don’t think you have to worry about Adira, but her sister Ali is the one that I am worried about. Even though she is mated to Blaze, I still think that there is a part of her that is still a daddy’s girl and I think maybe we should keep an eye on her.” I tell him and he shakes his head in agreement. A part of me thinks that I should make Blaze and her stay behind, but I know that will never suffice Ali, knowing what is to come of her father. Ali was a loose cannon and I had seen that on multiple occasions since I had met her, and there is no telling what she may try back at Crimson. On the other hand, I believe that Stella is stronger than Ali and she should be able to keep her under control, at least I hope she can. I never had to deal with a witch in the pack let alone two witches. One be
Adira’s POV I know that Alpha Liam wanted us she wolves in our rooms for our protection. I could see that the packhouse was more than secure and I couldn’t wait upstairs well I knew that my father was being held here in the basement. I had so much I wanted to say to him and I couldn’t wait another minute to say it, being this close to him. Opening the door slowly to my appointed room, I look out into the hallway to see the coast is clear and step out into the hallway to make my way to the basement where I am sure he is being held. I made it halfway down the hallway when a door opened and I jumped thinking I was caught, but to my surprise it was Ali. I looked at her with a confused look on my face, wondering why she too was leaving her room and where Blaze was. Ali then opened her door for me to peek in, and I saw Blaze fast asleep on the bed behind her. “He may be a bit mad at me when he wakes up, but I had a feeling that you would be going to see father as soon as you could.” A
Liam’s POV All the preparations were put into place and my men were given their orders. Alpha Zane and I retreated to our rooms to retrieve our Lunas. When I entered Adira’s and my room, I was shocked to see her sitting by the window. Just staring out of it like she was lost in thought, not even turning when I entered. When I moved to her, I realized what she was looking at. There was a perfect view of the area that was set up for the meeting and the pack was already arriving. “I spoke with my father.” Adira finally says acknowledging my presence. Shock fills me with when and how she saw him and I stand there not knowing how to respond to her. In a way I was angry that she hadn’t asked me to see him but on the other hand who was I to tell her she could or couldn’t. I just wish she would have included me in this so that I could have ensured her safety. “Ali went with me. The conversation was very enlightening for the both of us. I don’t think that you have to worry about Ali an
Adira’s POV I knew that something felt off today and after Ali and I had returned to our rooms, I found myself an emotional wreck, which I knew was not like me. I knew how my father was and the words he had chosen to say to us were of no surprise, but here I was crying my eyes out. Thankfully, Stella came when I called her to my room and within seconds she verified what I had assumed. It wasn’t like I didn’t know this was a possibility after my heat and all the sex that Alpha Liam and I had over the last couple of days, but a part of me wishes that it would have held off one more heat so that I could be the one to make my father pay, myself, but it wasn’t meant to be. Now I had to hope that my mate would be the one to make him pay for all the wrong that he had done and stop this madness of the elders for the sake of our unborn pup and the future of our kind. When Liam entered our room, I remained staring out the window at the place my father would take his last breath and the pl
Liam’s POV Holding onto Adira’s hand I watched as her father was led to the stage and I could feel what she was feeling as her walls were down and her feelings were flowing freely to me. I began to worry that this was too much stress on her and our unborn pup and I should have insisted that she stayed in our room. Stella moved closer to us and I watched as she reached for Adira’s other hand. As soon as she touched Adira, I instantly felt Adira calm. I knew that Stella was the one doing this, as I stared at her, she gave me a nod. Stella had promised me that she would take care of Adira and she was doing just that. Blaze and Ali stepped to the side as Mr. Wilson was brought onto the stage and I watched Ali closely to make sure Adira was right about her. I could see that it was affecting her just as it was affecting Adira, but I could see that she now also saw the truth about her father. When Blaze and her both took their position in front of the steps, Blaze took her hand into his
Adira’s POV My eyes remained glued on Alpha Liam as my father took his fighting stance, but Liam just stood there like my father was not a worthy opponent. This of course upset my father as he let out a growl warning Alpha Liam to take him seriously. The death that Alpha Zane was giving my father I thought was too good for what he had done. Yes, he was born a warrior, but he shouldn’t be allowed to go out with a warrior’s death, and I can see that Alpha Liam agrees with me as he mocks my father by not taking a fighting stance, showing him no respect. “If I am to die, then give me a warrior’s death if you think you can.” My father now says to Alpha Liam. Alpha Liam let out a growl before he says, “A warrior’s death is too good for you.” “Seems that we are on the same page. I will make sure to give you an honorable warrior’s death.” My father then said as he leaped towards Alpha Liam. I wanted to cry out to him to watch
