Ares’ pov.

I wasn’t sure if I really wanted to rule, but I wanted to know if he would do it with me. He looked at me and smiled. And I knew his answers before he even said them.

“I would do anything for you,” he stepped closer to me. “If ruling is what you want, then I’ll do it with you. It will be hard, but I’m sure we will manage.” I knew at that moment that I couldn’t have asked for a better mate.

“I love you,” I whispered. That was all I could say. I summarised all of my emotions into those words. His mouth stretched in a smile before he replied.

“I love you,” he kissed me deeply and I felt all of his love for me. We only broke apart when we heard the report from the guards on duty at the pack’s border. They have gotten used to reporting things to me since I became in charge.
