Chapter Sixty-three

Aden's POV

The cabin looked new like it was built recently. Why would Brad take it upon himself to act stupid in a situation like this?

Brad had a brain but acted foolishly most of the time. Sometimes I don't blame Katrina for not wanting him as her mate.

What kind of mate runs off when you need him most? What kind of mate abandons his people to leave by the hillside?

I think Brad lost his senses when his father was murdered before him. I can't get a better reason or better excuse for why he acts so daft.

I didn't come all the way here to smile with him, he doesn't know what I have in store for him. It's far from a hearty embrace.

I decided that if I didn't find him here, I would wait for the dummy here. Reaching the door to the cabin, I didn't bother knocking. I forced my way in, the stench from the cabin almost suffocating me. The place was untidy. A few utensils were scattered on the tables. Cans of beer and chicken bones littered the floor.
