REGINA

What the hell just happened?

I couldn’t believe it. I knew what I had seen. The whole Alpha Lionel was jealous of seeing me with Axel.

Yes!

It was working. I had to inform Axel. Whatever we were doing, it was working, and we needed to keep doing it. I instantly hurried to Axel’s home. He had offered me his card so I could easily find my way there.

The late afternoon sun spilled through the window of Axel’s apartment, casting golden hues across the room as I walked in. Axel lounged on the couch, one arm draped casually along the backrest, his face lit with a mischievous grin.

“So, how’d it go?” he asked, tilting his head.

I paced back and forth in front of him, my emotions a tangle of triumph and guilt. “It worked,” I admitted, pausing to glance at him.

His grin widened. “I knew it would. Lionel doesn’t seem like the type to just let something like this slide. What did he do?”

I sighed, sinking in

LIONELThe morning was already messing me up. My mind was consumed with Regina. I couldn’t stop replaying the way she had laughed with Axel, the easy way they moved around each other like they belonged together. The thought set my teeth on edge. And of all, the fact that she so defiantly chose her newfound company over me!“Focus,” I growled to myself, trying to turn my attention to the stack of papers on my desk. But focus was impossible. Every time I closed my eyes, I saw her smile—not directed at me, but at him. I slammed my fist on the desk, the sudden noise reverberating through the room.A knock on the door pulled me out of my brooding. “What?” I barked.Ryker stepped in, his expression cautious. “The patrol reports you wanted.”I took them with a nod, but Ryker didn’t leave. He lingered, his gaze scrutinizing. “Something on your mind, Alpha?”“Nothing that concerns you,” I said curtly, shuffling the pape

REGINAThe plan was to continue with Axel until Lionel is wretched. He had caused me enough pain. Now was the time for him to also get a taste of his own poison. So Axel and I moved out that day to the very garden where I knew Lionel would be, and as the good actress I was, it was easy to stage up another show.I couldn’t tell the effect it was having on him but I knew he was watching. Afterwards, I made my way back to the mansion, spending a little while with Grandpa before proceeding to my room. It was not long before I got the knock from Lionel. At first, him finding out about my plan with Axel was something I felt guilty about, but as quickly as the feeling of guilt arose, so did the pain of everything he had caused me and, of all, Penelope’s presence. Then he had the effrontery to say I was no different from Penelope. What?I didn’t bother to hear anything else. I just wanted him to get the hell out of my sight. And when he

REGINAThe weight of my words hung in the air between us. My father stared at me, his usually strong, stoic expression crumbling into one of pure anguish. “Regina. You never told me.”“I would only be bringing more pain and I knew it.”“Who rejected you, Regina?”“Lionel.”“No.”“It was a long time ago.”“Regina,” he whispered, his voice breaking. “Tell me this isn’t true. Tell me there’s something we can do. Anything.”Tears brimmed in my eyes as I shook my head. “Father, I’ve tried. Ruby, my wolf, she’s weak. The rejection—it’s like a wound that won’t heal. And it’s only getting worse.”His breath hitched, and he sank heavily into the chair opposite me, his hands covering his face. “This isn’t fair,” he murmured, more to himself than to me. “You’ve already endured so much. How could life take even this from you?”I reached out, touching his arm gently. “Dad, don’t—please. You’ve alw

  • Loving the Cold-Hearted Alpha Lionel    The First Step

REGINAThe early morning sunlight streamed through my curtains, golden and warm. For the first time in a long while, I didn’t feel the heavy weight of despair pressing down on my chest. Instead, there was a flicker of something unfamiliar but welcome—hope. Today was the day I would take the first step toward reclaiming my life. The message from Springwood Entertainment had been on my mind since I’d read it. I’d spent the night tossing and turning, going over every possible scenario in my head. The movie from Sun Entertainment was definitely cancelled, thanks to Lionel. Plus, I wasn’t playing a major role back then since Lionel had so foolishly turned the spotlight to Beatrice. How then had the company known about me. By morning though, I knew what I had to do. I was going to that interview. As I stood in front of my closet, Ruby’s voice whispered in my mind. Are you sure about this?“Yes,” I said aloud, picking out a simp

LIONELMy mind repeatedly replayed the argument with Regina, with each word piercing deeper than the previous one. Her anger, her defiance, the pain in her voice—it all clawed at me, but I pushed it aside. Lucius, my wolf spirit, growled in the recesses of my mind. You should have seen this coming, Lionel. Let her go. She’s only bringing us down. “I know,” I muttered, my tone bitter. Then act like it. You’re the Alpha. Harden your heart. Forget her. I clenched my fists, staring out the wide window of my office. The moonlight bathed the forest in silver, its beauty taunting me with memories of better times. “It’s not that simple, Lucius.” It is. Lucius snarled. Penelope, Regina—all of them. They’ve done nothing but distract you from what matters: the pack. Focus on your duty. It’s the only thing that won’t betray you. Remember, everything you feel for Regina is only a product of the guilt that you carry in your heart, th

REGINAThe ringtone of my phone jolted me from my thoughts. It was just a day after the interview with Victor Ashford and I was about to go to sleep that very night. I glanced at the screen, Victor Ashford’s name flashing across it. My heart raced as I hesitated before picking up. “Hello?” I said, my voice cautious yet curious. “Regina,” Victor’s smooth, deep voice filled the line. “I trust you’re doing well. I wanted to let you know that we’ve decided to offer you the role in our upcoming project. Congratulations.” A mix of excitement and apprehension surged through me. “Really? Thank you so much, Mr. Ashford!” “Victor,” he corrected, his tone warm yet commanding. “You earned this, Regina. We start shooting next week, but I’d like you to come by the studio tomorrow to meet the cast and crew. It’s important for everyone to feel comfortable as a team.” “Of course,” I replied, trying to mask the nervousness in my voice.

LIONEL The silence in my study was oppressive. I sat behind my desk, staring at the stack of papers that required my attention. Pack reports, business accounts, contracts—all of them stared back at me, demanding focus I couldn’t give. My mind was elsewhere, swirling with thoughts of Regina and Victor Ashford. I glanced at my phone for the tenth time that hour. Still no word from Ryker. Running a hand through my hair, I exhaled sharply. Ryker’s reluctance earlier was understandable. He wasn’t wrong to feel uneasy about tailing Regina, especially after what had happened between him, Gwen, and Regina in the past. Yet, I needed to know. Not because of distrust—at least, that’s what I told myself—but because the name Victor Ashford carried weight, and none of it was good. The door creaked open, pulling me from my thoughts. My heart leapt, expecting Ryker, but it was Regina. Her presence was electric, commanding my attention immediately.

LIONEL Grandpa’s silence was louder than anything he could have said. His usually unshakable expression faltered, his brow creased with worry and disbelief as he absorbed my words. I stood there, trying to steady my breath, my chest tight as the enormity of my decision settled between us. “You’re serious.” He finally said. “How did it happen?”I shrugged. “I don’t think I want to go into the details. What can I say? I was trying to save someone; I drew on my energy too early and that was it. My inner wolf warned me, but I didn’t listen.”Grandpa shook with discomfort. “Lionel, there is danger when your energy source is broken! It’s like…”“Yeah, I’m aware. I’m dying slowly.” Just like Regina. I couldn’t tell if Grandpa knew about Regina.“Does Regina know?”“About this? No. Why should she?” I saw no reasons to tell her.“That’s the hope of getting the energy source fixed, Lionel.”“What?”“Y

  • Loving the Cold-Hearted Alpha Lionel    Where I Belong

REGINA I made my way to Marcy’s room shortly after seeing Lionel. She looked so small lying there, her face pale but serene. Her hands rested on her swollen belly protectively, even in her sleep. My heart clenched at the sight of her. The sister I had thought I’d lost forever was here again, and despite everything we had endured, there was hope. Then I thought of the tragedy that had befallen her—of Silas and everything else. Victor had indeed taken more than we could imagine. “Marcy,” I whispered as I approached her bed. Her eyes fluttered open, groggy but quickly filling with recognition. “Regina?” she murmured, her voice hoarse. I nodded, tears already welling up. “It’s me.” She eased into a smile. “I just knew you could do it. I just knew you could. You’ve always been just too strong.” I laughed as I planted a kiss on her forehead. “How’s the b

LIONEL The first thing I noticed was the sterile smell of antiseptic. My body felt heavy, but the softness of the hospital bed was comforting. Slowly, I blinked my eyes open. Regina’s face came into focus. Her hair was slightly disheveled, dark circles shadowed her eyes, but she was the most beautiful sight I’d ever seen. Her hand rested on mine, her touch grounding me. “Lionel,” she whispered, her voice filled with relief and tenderness. Tears welled up in her eyes as she leaned closer. “You’re awake.” I managed a weak smile. “Hey…” Before I could say more, Grandpa appeared by her side, his face a mixture of concern and relief. Ryker and Gwen were there too, their expressions lighter than I’d seen in days. “You gave us quite the scare, kid,” Grandpa said, his gruff tone unable to mask the emotion in his voice. “Victor?” I rasped, the memories of the fight f

REGINA “No,” I whispered, cradling Lionel closer. His breathing was shallow, his usually vibrant eyes clouded with pain. Victor stood a few paces away, lowering his weapon with a chilling casualness. “You should've just cooperated with the plan, Regina.” He chuckled disdainfully. “You and that pathetic excuse of an alpha.” “Don’t you dare!” Marcy’s voice cut through the tension, and I turned just in time to see her charging at Victor. “Marcy, no!” I screamed, but it was too late. Victor swatted her away like she was nothing, sending her flying into the side of the truck. She hit the metal with a sickening thud, collapsing in a heap. My mouth dropped open, my scream coming uncontrollably. “Stay down, girl,” Victor sneered, turning his attention back to me. I froze, my arms tightening protectively around Lionel. Every instinct screamed at me to fight, but my b

  • Loving the Cold-Hearted Alpha Lionel    Let’s End This

REGINA I and Marcy had been together in the room, waiting, when we heard the sounds of the war going on outside the building. Lionel was here. At first, a feeling of joy and assurance rushed to me, but almost immediately, a certain panic rushed through me when we had waited for quite long enough and Lionel was yet to show up. “Are you sure he’s still okay?” Marcy asked, the fear in her voice evident. “He is okay.” I replied with all certainty. “Nothing could happen to Lionel!” Then the men suddenly stormed in, barking orders. Marcy and I rose hastily and followed the men down the corridors, all the way to the back of the warehouse. Soon, we were out in the dark and there was nothing but the dim lights of the moon to guide us through. I could still hear the faint buzz of war on the other far end of the building. Axel led the group of Victor’s men, his expression unreadable, but

LIONEL His taunting words drove me mad, but I refused to give him the satisfaction of seeing me fall apart. I clenched my jaw, focusing on my breathing as I adjusted my stance, preparing for the next round. But Victor wasn’t done. He was playing with me, like a predator toying with its prey. He danced just out of reach, circling me, his every movement calculated, precise. “You know, Lionel,” he began. “I’ve always admired your strength. But strength doesn’t mean anything when it’s built on lies. Your so-called ‘perfect love’ with Regina? It’s a joke. You’re both weak, just like your parents were. Too sentimental. Too tied down by your pathetic little bond.” His words struck harder than any blow he could throw, reminding me of all the mistakes I’d made, of all the things I’d failed to protect. The past kept clawing at me, refusing to let go. I roared in fury, charging toward him once more, but this time, I cou

  • Loving the Cold-Hearted Alpha Lionel    Ambush

LIONEL All I needed was a location and just that, Arturo had provided. Another site, another holding of Victor’s. Even if it meant going to a hundred locations this same night, as long as I was not dead, I was going to set my eyes on Regina and there was nothing that could be done to change that. As we drew closer to the warehouse where Regina was supposedly held, we knew better than to just storm our way in. We needed to maintain a low profile. The warehouse loomed ahead, its corrugated metal walls dull and rusted under the dim glow of the moonlight. A faint chill ran down my spine as I scanned the perimeter. This was the place. I could feel it in my gut. Regina was inside, and I wasn’t leaving without her. Ryker crouched beside me, his face set in grim determination. Arturo and his men from the Eric Circle pack fanned out behind us, their movements silent and purposeful. Each of them carried

  • Loving the Cold-Hearted Alpha Lionel    Marcy’s Story

REGINA “You already know how it started,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper. “I refused to marry Lionel. I couldn’t. Not when my heart belonged to Silas.” I nodded, memories of that time flashing through my mind. Marcy had always been the rebellious one, the sister who defied tradition and sought her own path. “When I ran away with Silas, we thought we’d left everything behind,” she continued, her voice growing steadier. “We crossed borders, traveling from pack to pack, always looking over our shoulders. But eventually, we found a place where we could be safe, a small pack in a distant country. It was nothing like home, but it was ours. We built a life there, Regina. A happy life.” Her lips quivered, and I could see the love she still held for Silas shining in her eyes, even through her grief. “We planned to come back one day,” she said, her voice cracking. “To face

  • Loving the Cold-Hearted Alpha Lionel    Sister Sister

REGINA I awoke slowly. “Regina?” The voice echoed in my head, but the familiarity could not be mistaken. I knew I was captured again; alone, with no one to protect me, my heart aching in ways I couldn't even put into words. This time, not just for my own mistakes, but for my sister’s life as well. “Marcy…” I cried quietly. How? I lay on the cold, unforgiving floor of the dimly lit room, the rough stone scraping against my skin. The chains around my wrists felt heavier than ever, and my heart felt heavier still. It wasn’t just the physical pain that gnawed at me—it was the emotional torment of seeing my sister’s frightened eyes, the same eyes I remembered from our childhood, filled with so much terror. "Regina?" Marcy’s voice broke through the silence. Her voice was hoarse, trembling, as though she too couldn’t find the words to express th

  • Loving the Cold-Hearted Alpha Lionel    The Art of Escaping

REGINA I could feel the cold metal of the handcuffs biting into my skin as the car jolted over uneven terrain. Victor’s grip on my life—on everything I cared about—was suffocating, his constant presence a reminder of just how trapped I truly was. Axel was beside me, silent, but I could feel his gaze flicking over me like a hawk, calculating and waiting for any sign of weakness. But I wasn’t about to give him the satisfaction of seeing me break. Victor had been playing a game with Lionel. Each move designed to frustrate, each location a new dead end. I could tell it was wearing on him. His anger had become more pronounced, his impatience clearer. But it wasn’t just about the hunt anymore—it was about power, and I was the key to it all. The car slowed as we turned onto a dirt road, the thud of the tires against the gravel echoing in the small space. The lights outside flickered and then dimmed. I didn’t know where we were going this time,
