CHAPTER 4

Third Person POV

“He is now safe we’re just waiting for him to wake up now then we run another test to make sure, but until then he still needs to stay here for a few days.” The doctor said to Hans.

“I understand, Thank you doc.” He replied and shake the doctor’s hand they both left the room the doctor walk away as he stood in front of the door.

He was about to walk away when his phone rang with an unregistered number on his phone, he quickly answered it and on the other line a sound of a lady crying.

“Hello? This is Brianne Raye’s manager where inside the hospital already, what floor is she on?” She asks sobbing.

“Fourth floor. Tell them it’s for Hans Devin and they will let you in.” He said calmly.

“Okay, okay we’ll be there.” Manager Clea said and hang up the call.

“Hey.” Someone said behind him. “What happens? Where is Nicho?” a man asks.

“He is inside unconscious but he is out of danger now,” Hans answered.

“I was in a tight situation when you called that’s why I could get here fast, what happen? How did he suddenly end up in the hospital?” The man asks and opens the door and Hans immediately followed him. “He looks so harmless when sleeping, damn. I think we should keep him like this.” The man said and Hans couldn’t help but chuckle.

“I think he is trying to save a woman,” Hans said that making the man’s eyes widen.

“What? A what?” The man asks again in shock.

“An…actress actually,” Hans added with a smirk on his lips.

“What the fuck? Is the world ending? Does he have an uncurable disease?” The man asks again and walks towards Nicholas's bed.

“I don’t know. By the way Mr. Lancer---“Hans tried to say.

“Noah, I’m not so formal like this fucker. This is really strange to see him without his killer death glare.” Noah Lancer said and took his phone out and open the camera.

“There is a big event for the company and I don’t think Mr. Leone will be able to attend it, do you mind if you will represent him? I mean you’re a shareholder in the company.” Hans said as the person is talking is busy taking pictures of sleeping, Nicholas.

“Depends on what kind of event is, I don’t like boring parties,” Noah said as he put his phone back in his pocket.

“I was a business gala, the head of big corporations will be there,” Hans answered as Noah walk towards the sofa and sat there.

“Like who?” He asks, “Why can’t you be the one to attend that?” he asks again and Hans quickly avoided his eyes.

“There is no one to look after Mr. Leone as this accident can’t reach his parents,” Hans answered.

“I don’t do a favor for free though,” Noah said.

“I will surely tell Mr. Leone that he owes you a favor as soon as he wakes up,” Hans said and Noah nodded his head and smirked.

“Fine, look after him carefully, alright? I come back to take my payment for the favor you ask when I feel like I need it already.” Noah said and wave his hands as he walks towards the door and left.

Manager Clea couldn’t sit still as she keeps walking back and forth while glancing over and over again at the ICU window where nurses and doctors are monitoring Brianne.

“I should have not allowed her to leave! I should have followed her from the start! I’m so stupid!” She said as a tear fell on her cheeks that she quickly wipes.

“Hey, it’s not your fault. Calm down, I’m sure she will be fine. You know her, she is a fighter.” Her boyfriend said as he hugs her and calm her down.

When the door opens and the doctor calms out with one of the two nurses behind him.

“Doc, how is she?” Clea asks as she walks to the doctor.

“She is stable now, but we still have to monitor her but no need to worry too much as is out of danger now. She can be moved to her private room and when she wakes up, we will just have to run some test to her.” The doctor said.

“Thank you, ma’am, thank you,” Clea said holding the doctor’s hand, and the doctor smiled and nodded to her before walking away.

Brianne Raye POV

“H-hello?” I said as I heard a huge slam of a door.

I tried to look around and couldn’t recognize the place I’m in. I was dark and so unfamiliar as I was sitting a white bed, where am I? It was so dark that I could barely see anything.

“Vander?” I called on the familiar figure that I’m seeing.

“I love you, I love you from the start.” He said with his soft tone of voice, but he is not facing me.

‘Who is he talking to?’ I ask myself as I walk towards them.

“I love you so much, Sabrina…” He said and they started to kiss.

I felt like my heart clenched, put my hand over my mouth stopping myself from making a noise crying and just letting my tears fall down my face.

“Vander! What are you doing? Stop it, I’m here!”  I shouted but it was like they couldn’t hear anything I say. “Please stop! VANDER!” I keep shouting in tears but instead of him fulling away he pulled Sabrina in an embrace.

“he’s mine, you are too useless for him that's why he is leaving you for me,” Sabrina said with an arrogant smile on her lips as she loudly.

“No…NO!” I shouted and tried to run to them.

“Ms. Paige can you hear me?” an unfamiliar face asks me as he flashes a light in my eyes.

I didn’t answer and tried to move my eyes away from the light and try to remember who is here, and where am I.

“Who are you?” I ask confused.

“I’m your doctor, Doctor Calek. Your vitals are stable now and your pulse is much stronger than when you came here, but we still need to run some more test need to make sure that there is no blood clouting happening inside that we missed. How are you feeling?” She asks again.

“I’m feeling okay,” I answered a little hesitant.

“Can you remember your name?” The doctor asks me again.

“Yes, my name is Brianne Raye Paige. But doc, why am I exactly here again? All I remember was…I was in the car with my manager and…and…I …that’s all I remember.” I said confused. “Did we get into an accident? Where is my manager---” I ask in panic and the doctor stops me from sitting.

“No, they’re fine and you didn’t get into an accident in the car with them but yes you did get into an accident…if that's what we should call it.” She said that made me frown even more.

“What?” I ask.

“I think you should wait for your friend to arrive and ask her instead?” the doctor said when the doc suddenly open and reveal a panicking manager Clea

“Finally, oh my god. Are you alright? We’re so worried, how are you feeling?” She said taking my left hand and checking me out.

“I’m okay now,” I answered.

“I will leave first, I still have rounds to do.” The doctor said and nodded as we thank her.

“What happened to me? How did I end up here?” I ask.

“I don’t also know, you called me crying and saying sad things then the next thing we got is a call from a stranger saying you’re in a hospital.” She said. “You don’t remember?” she asks when suddenly her last word echoed in my head making me flinch in pain and making me grab my head. “Bri? What’s happened? Wait I’ll call the doctor---” she said when I grab her hand

“I…I’m fine…” I said but not looking at her as my eyes were closed shut.

‘It was…it was because of Vander…that dream I had before woken up earlier is not just a dream…’ I said inside my head.

“It was real… I…I remember now.” I said as I put my hand down.

“What’s real?” Manager Clea asks.

“Vander, he…he cheated on me.”

“He-hello” I greeted the man who open the door of the other private room.

“Hello, Ms. Paige.” A handsome man said with a smile and open the door widely.

“ahm, I…I just want to bring this for him. I know it’s not enough for what happened, I’m so sorry.” I said. “About the bill for his---”

“No need to worry about that Ma’am,” the handsome man said. “My name is Hans, he is my boss, Mr. Nicholas Leone.” He introduces himself and offer his hand I quickly took it,

“Brianne Raye Paige, it’s a pleasure to meet you, but not in this situation,” I whispered my last words and he chuckled.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you too Ma’am.” He said.

“Is there anything you need? I can help, please. I owe him my life, he is in this state because of me, so, tell me is there anything I can do for him? anything you want me to provide?” I ask and he looks at me for a second and smiles.

“Actually, there is.” He said that made me smile.

“Sure, what is it?” I ask.

“Look after him, while I’m away.”
