Adam
“These fucking reporters,” I shouted as I threw down the newspaper in disgust. “Adam Jacob, a Casanova and a big-time player, has broken up with Supermodel who’s a sweetheart, Heather Summers.” That was the headline that was on the front of today’s morning newspaper. These journalists were like a hungry dog lusting after a damn bone. They had written total crap and made it seem like I was the bad guy. They didn’t know who Heather Summers was. I can bet my life that she was the one who tipped them off about me being a famous “Casanova.”
I know she did this because I had told her that we couldn’t see each other anymore. She knew what we had was temporary, so I didn’t see why there was any surprise there. When I had broken the news to her last month, she had hit me so hard that my jaw was still feeling the sting every time I thought about it. Heather was someone who couldn’t keep her legs closed, especially to men who had money. She always wanted to use and abuse then toss aside the men that she dated, never wanting them to be the ones who break up with her. And now, she tainted my image, even more, giving the damn story–hungry journalists a made-up story, making me look like the bad guy––as the headline clearly showed all because I had broken up with her first.
When I had met her a year ago, I told her that the only relationship I would have with her is a sexual one and she had agreed willingly but everything changed about a month ago when she started getting clingy and territorial so I had to break things off. It seems it's not over for her because she keeps sending me angry texts then sweet ones, posting on my F******k page with the same crap.
“Mrs. Wilson, where's my coffee?” I shouted to my personal assistant.
“Coming right away sir,” I heard her indistinct reply. It was seven in the morning and I was at my office in New York City cranky as hell. It's been days since I last slept. I had returned home today at five am in the morning to see that bullshit headline and also me lacking much-needed sleep wasn’t making the situation any better. I was feeling a bit moody and I was ready to take it out on everyone who got me upset this morning. I was now the CEO of Jacob's Enterprise, a multi-billion-dollar marketing company. I was appointed by my dad Kyler Jacob three years ago who had decided that he should retire and enjoy the rest of his remaining years playing golf and other sports. Seeing that I had got my Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, with a major in entrepreneurship and a minor in marketing at UC Berkeley at the age of twenty––two and I was his only son–he passed down the business to me in hopes that I can maintain the profits and keep the business upright.
My dad, Kyler Jacob is now a widower and he has been that way for fifteen years. He said that no woman could ever replace my mom so that's why he never got remarried and this a good thing for me as I don't want anyone to take advantage of my dad and his money.
My mom who I had spent only five years with after my existence, was now deceased. She had died in a car accident shortly after I turned seven. I remembered that day like it was yesterday. My dad had come home with his eyes puffy, swollen, and red when he had told me what happened. I was hurt and distraught.
I didn't get to say goodbye or tell her how much I loved her. I was closed off for months. I wouldn't speak to anyone. I had so much anger in me that I would lash out at anyone who came close to me. I was a seven-year-old child with anger problems that developed into my teens. My dad had tried to reach out to me but I rebuffed his efforts–– I had refused to let anyone in. I was so angry. That's until James, my now bodyguard, driver, and a family friend who has been with the family many years had come into my room and forced me to hear him out because he was tired of my tantrums and bullshit as he had bluntly called it. He had told me that he knew what I was experiencing and the pain I was feeling because he had gone through it but his situation was worse, his mom was killed right in front of him by a man who his dad had owed a huge amount of money too.
He also showed me how to channel my anger by doing karate and training hard until the anger had subsided. To many, he seemed like a frightening giant but in reality, he was a calm and collected guy. He only breaks bones when someone messes with the ones he loves. He is like a second father to me.
Since appointed the CEO I have managed to hold up the company's image and profits, despite my lifestyle choices. My employees are afraid of me and think of me as a cruel and heartless bastard because of the harsh way I treat them but that was not the case. This world we live in is full of competition and what would people think when Jacob's Enterprise hits rock bottom, my dad will be criticized by everyone, they will be gossiping all over. I can already imagine what they would be saying, “Kyler Jacob had turned over the company to his son who is the life of the party and had sunk the business into debt.”
I can't allow that to happen for it will break my dad's heart seeing that he had turned over his business that he had started with just a small amount of money and turned it into something huge––a multi-billion company and I allowed it to fall and he will never forgive me for he has warned me on countless occasions to change the lifestyle that I am living.
So, I have to take drastic measures to keep our image in place.
Standing at “six foot two,” with a head full of black hair and broad shoulders, I look pretty intimidating to people, which is ironic. I am the complete opposite of what they make me out to be, I can honestly describe myself as an honest, caring gentleman who likes to have fun and have sex.
People think that I am dominant, but they're wrong–––well not completely. I do dominate women but only in bed. Controlling their every pleasure, allowing them to succumb to their sexual needs, and letting me satisfy them in the most mind-blowing way possible.
Knocking on my door softly and slowly entering was Mrs. Wilson with the cup of coffee that I had requested about fifteen minutes ago. “Mrs. Wilson, how long did I request this?” I asked her.
“F-fifteen minutes ago sir,” she stuttered.
“Then why am I just receiving it? A cup of coffee takes two to four minutes to make.”
“I- I was––um,” her voice came out shakily.
“You were um what Mrs. Wilson?” My voice boomed.
“I was–––um,” her voice was still shaky.
Sighing, I asked her calmly, “Mrs. Wilson can I be assured this mistake won't happen again?”
“Yes sir,” she replied with more confidence but her voice still held a nervous ring to it. Feeling completely satisfied with her answer I left her with a warning.
“Don't let this happen again or you will be fired!” I said sternly. Looking at her body shaking and nodding her head nervously I knew that I had installed man's worst nightmare fear. Feeling satisfied with her answer and reaction I dismissed her. For the remainder of the day, I went through some important papers and folders about the company. At exactly 4:00 pm, my phone started ringing. Looking at the caller's ID, I saw it was my dad so I picked up.
“Hey son,” my dad's cheerful voice came over the phone. “Have you purchase the book that I asked for?” he asked.
“No dad I didn't as yet I have been busy but I am finishing up now so I can go and buy it,” I replied.
We talked on the phone for five minutes discussing business and such. After hanging up, I finished up what I was doing. Closing the folders and putting away the paper, I grabbed my jacket and was out the door. Pressing the button to my private elevator, I entered and pressed the button that says lobby. When the elevator stopped, I stepped out and was greeted by James. Walking through the double doors we stepped outside and he opened the door. “Where is Adam?”
“To the bookstore, I need to pick up a book for dad.” Opening the car doors we both got in simultaneously before he started to drive the car.
“Adam, your recent fling Heather Summers had come to the house looking for you today.”
Chuckling I replied, “somehow I don't find that surprising.”
“I wonder why dad didn't mention it earlier when he called, was he there when she showed up?”
“Well...”
“Well, what James?”
“Well…”
“Just spit it out already!”
“When you arrive home you guys can talk; I'm not saying a word.”
“Okay fine!” I replied irritably and also dismissing the conversation. James knows I like to know things beforehand so I can prepare myself for what I'll be going into. As for Heather, I need to have a serious talk with her.
I'm starting to think that she is bipolar and now she shows up at my house. This is the final straw for I will not tolerate this childish behavior as soon as I get the time or we meet again I will be speaking to her. I know she wants a relationship but she knows my views on it. She knows that I don't do relationships because they're too time-consuming and it stops me from living the life I want to live, the life of a single rich bachelor.
The ride to the bookstore took approximately fifteen minutes. Stepping out of the car, I pressed the buzzer and waited until the person at the front let me in. Hearing the buzzing sound, I opened the door and entered and was graciously blessed with seeing the beauty of a young woman who I assumed to be the cashier.
Walking up to the counter I just stood there and stared at her, taking in every single feature of her beautiful oval-shaped face. Staring into her hazel eyes I was just starting to get lost in them when I heard her ask me how she could be of assistance, taking me out of my trance. Her voice had matched her face––beautiful and angelic.
“Do you have the book titled Start with Why?” I asked her, “it's a business book,” I added after I saw the puzzled look she wore on her face.
“Oh, yes I think we do; would you like me to escort you to the business section?” she asked.
Nodding my head, yes, I allow her to lead the way. While walking, I had gotten a view of her nice plump ass that seemed to be the perfect fit for my hands when I had her bent over my desk cupping them. Chuckling at the thought that I had started fantasizing about a woman that I didn’t know but was looking forward to getting to know soon.
Reaching the business section, I saw that she was nervous by the way she was hastily trying to look for the book I asked for without being too obvious. Chuckling silently at her behavior, I continued to watch her search for the book. Finding the book, she handed it to me and said, “you should go up to the cashier to get it cash.”
Looking at her I smirked before asking, “aren't you the cashier?” I could tell she was embarrassed by the way her face had turned a bright shade of pink. Walking back to her station I got to see her ass again and I was enjoying the view when I saw that she started walking fast. I wonder if she knew that I was looking at her ass and thinking what I could do to her in bed, I thought.
Reaching the cash register, she hurriedly cashes my item and I was tempted to ask for her number but I decided against it, I know I will see her again. Taking the bag from her hand, I felt something I couldn’t explain ran through my body. It was like fire igniting my body–it was the first I was ever experiencing it and I liked it. Giving her a wink, I walked outside the store. This woman had captured and piqued my interest as I walked into the store. Something about her was drawing me to her. I have to come back tomorrow, I told myself before I got inside the car.
EmilyToday was another boring day at the bookstore and I couldn't wait for my shift to end so I could go home and relax. Sitting at the cash register, I heard the familiar buzz. Buzzing the person in without looking up, I felt someone drilling a hole inside of me. Looking up, I saw it was the man who came to the store yesterday“Is there a reason why you're staring at me?”“Yes, I like what I see,” he replied teasingly.Blushing I waved off his remark, I asked, “what can I do for you today?”“Well, I'm here to ask you on a date. So, would you go on a date with me?” He asks bluntly“M-me go on a date with you?” I was surprised.“Yes, why do you sound so surprised?”“Well for one, we don't know each other as we just met yesterday and I don't know what you're like.”“Well, my name is Adam and I'm the CEO of J
AdamI could hear my phone going off and I wondered who would be calling me at this time. Sitting up, I took the phone from off the table beside my bed before I looked at the caller’s ID then answered it. “Hey,” her voice came into the phone.“Hey,” I replied while I watched the blond hair girl beside me move then settled back down comfortably in bed.“Before I get into why I called you, I want to thank you for sending your driver although he seemed very scary and had made me feel uncomfortable all the way home.”Chuckling, I replied, “he told me that you practically ran out of the car when he had stopped at your home. You don't have to fear him, he isn't that bad. I would've picked you up myself but I was busy.”“Yeah right and I’m the queen of the moon,” she retorted sarcastically. “Anyways I called to ask if we could hang out first before we g

EmilyReaching home from work I went straight to my mother's room to check on her. It has become a daily routine of mine ever since I found out that she had cancer. Knocking on her door, I entered.“Mom, are you okay?” I asked her but I didn't get any response. Walking up to her, I gently shook her. Her body felt like ice, cold beneath my touch. “Mom,” I called out but she still didn't answer. Panicking, I quickly shuffled through my bag where I took my phone out and dialed 911.“Hello yes, I would like an ambulance at Ambrose Lane New York apartment one.”“What's your emergency?” the operator asked.“My mom has cancer and I just came home to see that she has fainted,” I replied frantical
AdamEmily's mom seemed pretty nice when I met her earlier when I was at the hospital. She had complimented me by calling me a ‘fine specimen’ to Emily who was embarrassed by her mom doing such a thing. She had even called me a ‘fine gentleman’ which made me blush a little. Being around Emily’s mom made me realize that Emily had discussed her with me, it was so funny watching them banter. I was enjoying it but eventually, her mom got tired.“Mom, get some rest, you're tired,” Emily said to her.“Okay sweetheart I am not going to argue with that.” her mom replied. “And Emily, please go out and have fun with this fine gentleman. I'll be fine.”Shaking her head at her, she kissed her on her cheek before we both exited the ro
EmilyArriving at the hospital, I bid the receptionist good morning before I continued my way to the elevator to go up to my mother's room. Walking in, I saw that she was watching television and was laughing at something that the person said.“Mom I can see that you’re enjoying yourself,” I said while chuckling.Taking her eye off the television, she looked at me and smiled. “I don't want to talk about me, I want to talk about you. What happened between you and Mr. handsome last night?” She probed as she sat up in bed.“It was great. We talked and shared things from our past while we walked to the park that was a block away,” I spoke as I took a seat in the chair that was beside her bed.“Did you tel
Adam“You offered her a job?” My dad asked, stunned just as I ended the call with Emily. He had come out of nowhere like an apparition almost scaring me. I was standing in the hall talking to Emily who was explaining to me why she had snapped at me earlier and was apologizing for her behavior.“Yes, dad I did. Is that a problem?”“Adam honestly yes, it is. The way you describe this girl, she seems very nice as I said before and I don't want someone who will distract you from work in the same building as you or worse cause problems because you can’t keep it in your pants and settle down. You guys will probably start a relationship that may or may not end in turmoil and knowing you it's the latter, so yes I do have a problem with that.”“Dad relax
EmilyGetting up at five in the morning, I got out of bed and headed straight to the bathroom where I showered and brushed my teeth. Stepping out of the tub, I grab my towel from off the rack and wrap it around my waist. Going over to the mirror, I ran my hand through my hair to get it in place as it was messy. Walking into my room, I plugged in my straightening iron before I went to my closet and took out my black straight dress, and put it on along with my stockings. Going to sit in front of the mirror, I took up the iron and started straightening my hair.Plugging it out as soon as I was finished with it, I wrapped it up and placed it on the floor in the far corner of my room before I made my way back to my closet where I took out a pair of my black six-inch suede heels. Quickly putting them on, I grabbed my purse and my phone before I ran down the hall to the kitchen where I sea
EmilyRunning through the hospital doors, I stopped right at the desk and began shouting that they take me to my mother’s room. A nurse who was at the desk told me her room number and I ran into the elevator and began pressing the buttons impatiently. Bringing me up to the Emergency ward, I stepped off the elevator and ran right up to Melissa who was pacing the floor.“What happened?” I practically shouted at her.“She accidentally heard that you were kidnapped and she began sobbing. The next thing I know she was shaking vigorously and was foaming at the mouth.” Sinking at the floor, I began sobbing while wondering why bad things have to happen to good people. What did we do wrong? Where did we go wrong for things like this to plague us.” I didn’t know how long I was there, but I tuned out everyt
Adam“Adam, I found out who has been stalking Emily,” James shouted as he came barrelling through the front door. Stopping short when he saw the detective in the living room.“Calm down James, sit down and let me know what happened.” Well, Fields and I went to the Bahamas, as there was where our search led us. We went to a house that was a bit secluded. When we went and knock an old elderly couple answered the door. We were a bit confused as that’s where we traced where some of the text has been sent from otherwise from in New York and Paris. We sat down with the couple and we asked them random questions like if they had any children and where they were. They told us they had a son and his name was Tim and that he now resides in New York.”“As soon as they said that name, I automatica
EmilyI know it was wrong, but I couldn’t help myself. For the past month, I have been communicating with my stalker. He always messages me on an unknown number so I couldn’t trace it. Every day he would send me a message telling me how much he loves and adores me, and he cannot wait for the day we finally meet so I can see who he is and accept him. I would always reply with ‘I can’t wait to meet you’ or ‘I know you love me.’ I was playing a very dangerous game and I know if Adam knew what I was up to he would be upset. It had been two weeks since I have been back at work. I was still staying at Adam’s but I have been to visit my mom and Melissa a couple of times. My mom was getting worse by the minute, and it broke me every time to see her like that. To see her being weak and not being able to do anything. She keeps assuring me that s
Adam“Adam, I just got word from Fields that there is a possible lead. I will have to fly out to Washington tonight so I could meet with him.” Finally, after a month of hearing nothing, there is a chance that this lead will actually be the answer that we have been looking for.“Okay, just keep me updated and let me know what happens and James has a safe trip.” Ending the call, I place the phone on the table as I sat back and closed my eyes. For the past month, James and I had been working like madmen to try and find out new clues, whilst keeping an eye on Emily, who seems out of it at times. I find her spending time in my mother’s library reading mystery books and I can’t help but feel she is up to something. I have asked the staff to watch her discreetly because I have a gut feeling that something bad is going to happen and soon.
EmilyBeing bored was an understatement as to how I was feeling at the moment. Used to being occupied whether at work or at home, I felt useless just lying in bed all day. The staff doesn’t allow me to do anything, if I tried to wash the glass that I had just used, I would be told by one of the maids that it wasn’t my job and that Mr. Jacob will be very upset if they allow me to wash it.Sighing, I pulled the covers from over my head as I picked up my phone and stared at the latest message that I had gotten from whoever had been stalking me. I never meant to hurt you, but you had left me no choice. Why is it that you can go on dates with a stranger but you won’t give me the time of day when I am the one who clearly loves you? Thinking back to last night, I could’ve di
Adam“Emily, wake up please,” I cried out as I rocked her back and forth. Coming to a few moments later, she sat up groggily.“Where am I?” she asked, her voice coming out shakily.“You’re in my home in my bed, I found you passed out on the street with a gash on your forehead.” Putting her hand on her forehead, she winced and withdrew her hand and stared at it. She was still bleeding and I had asked Sophia to call the doctor and to also bring the first aid kit so I could dress her wound.“What happened? Did you fall?”“No, I was walking down the street, when I turned to reach in my bag, I realized I didn’t have it on my shoulders and the minute I turned around back I was
Emily“It’s so nice to see you, Emily,” his voice floated over to me. Cringing, I turned to him and smiled before I began to walk away. Just coming out of my apartment, I was greeted by Tim who dressed in his dark jeans and his polo shirt. I continued walking but was halted by his voice.“I’m sorry Emily, I am sorry for how things went down between us. I really do.” Turning towards him, I could see the sincerity in his eyes and I could also hear it in his voice. “Is there any chance you could forgive me?”“Why the sudden change?” I asked confused. This was totally unlike him, unlike his nature for the three years I have been working at the bookstore, I have never seen or heard of Tim being sincere about anything.“Well,&r
AdamGetting dressed, I quickly looked over at Emily and saw that she was still sound asleep. Putting on my clothes, I grabbed my phone off the bed and saw that it was five in the morning. Going to sit at the edge of the bed, I gently move her hair before kissing her on the forehead. Getting up, I grabbed my shoes before quietly opening the door and closing it behind me. Exiting her apartment building, I got inside my car and drove home. When I had arrived, I saw that no one was up and the hall was dark. Feeling my way around the room, I got a hold of the railing before climbing the stairs to my bedroom. Laying down in bed, I closed my eyes and before you know it, I was waking up to the sun shining on my face.Groaning out loud, I sat up before running a hand over my face. I felt completely drained. I don’t know if it was the fact that Emily had tired me out
EmilyIt’s funny how things can change within a second, this moment you’re happy and smiling and the next you’re avoiding people like the plague. I haven’t spoken to Adam intimately after I had caught his maid climbing him and that was two months ago. We see each other at work and the only thing we exchange are greetings and me telling and confirming his schedule. He had tried on numerous occasion to say more, to reach out but I shut him down completely. I am slowly trying to get over it but it seems so hard when you have been hurt before it just seems impossible to forgive and forget. Sighing to myself, I got up out of bed before I went to take a shower, brush my teeth then threw my hair in a ponytail. Getting dressed in a gray dress, and black flats, I grab my phone and bag before going into the kitchen.Getting the orange juice from the refrigerator, I gra
