The tension in the airport lounge was thick, pressing against Emma as she tried to make sense of the situation. Just moments ago, she had been ready to leave New York behind.

Now, she stood in the middle of a bureaucratic nightmare, unable to board the plane despite having done everything by the book.

Her fingers curled tightly around her phone as she listened to the airport official explain—again—that they had received strict instructions preventing her from traveling.

“We have been informed that you recently underwent major surgery, Dr. Morgan,” the airport manager said, his tone polite but unyielding. “For your own safety, and based on medical advisories, we cannot allow you to fly at this time.”

Emma’s heart pounded. How did they know that? The only ones who were supposed to have access to her medical records were the hospital staff and herself.

Her gaze flickered to Christian, who stood beside her, arms crossed, lips pressed in a thin line. He had sensed something was w

Papers were stacked neatly on Dr. Allen's desk, medical journals piled in one corner. Emma sat opposite him, her hands resting on her lap as she listened to him speak. “I’m truly grateful you reconsidered, Dr. Morgan.” Dr. Allen's voice was filled with warmth. “Staying in New York to recover is the right decision. Your health should always come first.” Emma gave a small, polite nod, but internally, she scoffed. Reconsidered? That made it sound like she had made the choice willingly. If it were up to her, she and Claire would be on a flight out of New York long ago. But she hadn’t been given that choice. The city—no, someone—had made sure of that. Dr. Allen continued, his smile widening. “And I must say, I’m beyond pleased that you’ve also decided to accept our offer as a visiting medical consultant. It's our privilege to officially have you here, Dr. Morgan.”“Thank you, Dr. Allen,” she said, maintaining a composed expression. Medical consultant. That was the formal title. Sh

The days passed in a blur as Emma worked tirelessly to settle back into New York. But despite her packed schedule, one thing took priority above all else—finding the perfect school for Claire. After thorough research and numerous calls, Emma had finally settled on one of the most prestigious private schools in the city. The curriculum was excellent, the environment warm, and most importantly, it felt like the right place for Claire to thrive. The final step in the process was the admission interview. Emma had expected it to be routine—just a few questions about Claire’s background, education, and personality. But as she sat across from the school's admission panel, she quickly realized the interview was more intrusive than she had anticipated.“Ms. Morgan, could you tell us a little about Claire’s father?”Emma stiffened slightly. The question wasn’t unexpected, but

Emma approached the meeting place Allison had chosen. It was an outdoor café, where people walked past in hurried strides, lost in their own lives. The sounds of traffic hummed around them—cars speeding by, horns blaring, the occasional screech of tires as a driver hit the brakes too late. Allison sat there, leisurely taking her drink, with a smug look on her lips as she patiently waited. She had chosen this place intentionally—open, public, with the rush of moving cars close enough to be unnerving. It was a setting that ensured Emma wouldn’t react too impulsively, and wouldn't lash out the way she probably wanted to.Emma knew this was a trap, yet she had come anyway. She wanted to find out Allison's true intention for suddenly inviting her out and also to dig out more information of what Allison knew about the accident. But what she encountered was totally unexpected.“Right on time,” Allison mused, tilting her head as Emma sat across from her. “I was starting to think you’d be

Something—anything—to clear her mind. It wasn’t until she slowed at an intersection that she realized where she had driven. Her eyes widened slightly as she looked at the familiar gate in front of her. The amusement park. Her amusement park. Or at least, it used to be. Her eyes wandered to the park, closed off from visitors. The park had been closed off ever since David gi

Emma stepped out of the ward, her gaze following the direction Allison had left. A heavy sigh escaped her lips as she hesitated for a moment before walking after her. She clearly wasn’t fond of Allison, and she knew the feeling was mutual. But this wasn’t about rivalry or resentment—this was about understanding. No matter what, Allison was a mother. She had carried Henry, given birth to him, and raised him alone for two years. That kind of sacrifice could only mean one thing—she had loved David deeply, perhaps still did. Hearing her own son say that she had no real relationship with the man she had built a life around must have felt like a sharp knife cutting through her heart. Emma knew that pain too well. She had felt it more than once. So, despite the differences she had with Allison, she wasn't so heartless not to realize how hurt Allison must have felt at that instant. When she finally found Allison, the sight surprised her. But Emma just stared ahead, her face tired and unreadable. Before she could step out, he gently reached for her hand.“Emma,” he said softly, “how are you feeling?”She turned her eyes to him, surprised by the touch. There was a long silence before she finally shrugged.“I’m okay,” she muttered, but even she didn’t sound convinced.Christian gave her hand a small squeeze. “Don’t think too much about everything that happened tonight, alright? Christian stepped out of the car and walked straight toward David. His face was cold, and his eyes were sharp."I've given you enough chances, David," Christian said firmly. "More than once, and now, you've lost all your chances."David frowned, confused by the sudden confrontation. Before he could ask what Christian meant, Christian went on."I gave you the first chance to protect Emma. You failed. Then, I gave you a second chance—this time, to take her away with you. I deliberately stayed out of it, hoping you'd finally make a move. But, as always, you hesitated.”David opened his mouth to respond, but Christian cut him off."You decided to still be the same coward Emma fell in love with five years ago," Christian said bluntly.David's eyes showed a flicker of emotion, but he tried to stay calm. Christian just didn't care."Do you know the difference between the both of us?” Christian suddenly asked. “You don't need to answer that; I'll tell you myself. You're a very selfish man.”"

She looked up at him and saw the guilt written clearly on his face. Her heart ached as she realized what he was thinking. He believed Allison's words. He believed he had been a bad father.Emma couldn’t stay silent anymore. Enough was enough. For too long, she had allowed Allison to control the conversation with her false accusations, her self-pity, and her guilt-tripping. But not anymore. She pulled her hand away gently from David and stepped forward, facing Allison head-on. There was a cold sneer on her lips as her sharp gaze met Allison's teary, dramatic expression."I don’t c

Christian, standing silently at Emma's side, had his eyes fixed on Isabel, but even he couldn't predict what was about to happen. He froze for a second, caught off guard. Her eyelids tightly closed, bracing for the sharp sting of glass and the crushing pain that was sure to follow. But the pain never came.Instead, she felt something else entirely. Strong arms wrapped around her, pulling her into a protective embrace.CRASH! The vase smashed against the figure's back with a loud, bone-jarring crack. • Loving The Billionaire Gone Wrong   Breaking Point

The commotion from the garden was impossible to ignore. The loud noise quickly pulled the attention of the guests inside the restaurant. Mathew and his family were not left out. They hurried to the garden, confused and anxious, only to find Allison sitting on the grass, tears running down her face. Emma stood a few feet away, her hands on her waist, her face calm but cold.Isabel let out a gasp the moment her eyes landed on Allison. Without a second thought, she rushed to her daughter’s side, crouching and cupping Allison's cheeks with trembling hands, her voice breaking as she asked, "Allison, what happened?! Who did this to you?!”Allison didn’t answer right away. She was in so much pain that she could barely speak. She was holding her cheeks, which still stung from the heavy slaps Emma had given her. For once, she wasn't faking the pain or the tears. Her head felt light, almost dizzy, from the force of the slaps.David, who had also seen the heartbreaking sight, stepped closer.

  • Loving The Billionaire Gone Wrong   Act of Penance

Emma wasn't surprised to see Allison standing there, blocking her path in the garden. In fact, she had half-expected it. Ever since the moment Allison had leaned forward at the dinner table, hiding behind her fake smiles and pitiful acts, Emma had sensed that she was likely to find her and cause trouble. There was a flicker in Allison's eyes, a hint of mischief beneath the polished act, and now, standing just a few feet away, that same flicker had transformed into a full-blown, wicked smile.Allison stepped closer, the expression of a wronged saint from the dining room now entirely gone, replaced by the one Emma remembered all too well."I did a wonderful job choosing this restaurant, right?" Allison asked, her lips curling as she spoke. The sweetness in her tone had vanished, and the woman standing before Emma was the real Allison — sharp, manipulative, and utterly unrepentant.Emma met her gaze, her face calm but her chest heavy with old memories. Her stomach twisted, not from fear

  • Loving The Billionaire Gone Wrong   Reminiscence

Emma let out a long, tired sigh. She placed her fork down on her plate, her appetite already gone even before the main course arrived. The shrimp cocktail she had been picking at just moments ago now sat untouched. No matter how fresh and well-prepared it looked, the sight of it no longer appealed to her. Her stomach twisted with frustration instead of hunger.Would these two ever stop? David and Christian were just throwing jabs at each other like schoolboys fighting over the last piece of candy. She had come here hoping, even though she knew it was almost impossible, for a quiet dinner, maybe even a little peace since Allison and Isabel hadn't said or played out any of their dramas yet.But instead, it felt like sitting in the middle of a war zone, with indirect insults flying across the table like wild bullets. The air at the table had grown thick and uncomfortable. Even Mathew, old as he was, wasn’t blind to the tension. He cleared his throat, loud enough for everyone to hear.
