2024-10-29 19:42:56Checking her phone for the hundredth time, Serenity waited for some sort of indication that they were okay, but like the famous saying goes; no news is good news. Given the stillness of the warehouse and absence of bullets flying, Serenity could only assume they were still alive and well.
Just as she locked her phone once more, it buzzed. Serenity hurriedly opened the message and frowned when she saw the words displayed on her screen.

As bullets rained down on her, Serenity spotted a truck up ahead that seemed to be her only option for cover and Serenity pressed her foot harder to the floorboard. She could hear Xander roaring through the speakers, but she was too focussed on her task to hear what he was saying. A bullet whizzed past her head and lodged itself in the windshield, shattering the glass just as she swerved in front of the truck and onto the exit. Take your pick.” She responded bitterly, the relief she felt at seeing Lorenzo awake and alert was quickly dampened by the pain she felt at seeing him digest the news of Darrio’s death and Matteo’s disappearance.“Serenity, we need to talk.” Xander spoke after a beat of silence and Serenity’s feet paused in its journey towards the stairs.
