As Siya and Alex headed out, Lucas turned his attention back to Alice.

"What was that about?" he inquired, looking intrigued as he walked to her while taking off his suit.

Alice gave him a faint smile. "Just making sure my best friend is taken care of"

Lucas's lips curved upward as he looked at her.

"Did you have a meal?" he asked as his gaze lingered on her lips.

Alice nodded in silence. Lucas looked down at her clasping hands. Alice was looking into the distance.

"Look at me," he cupped her face and turned her to him.

"What happened? You want to say something?" he asked in a lovable voice as his fingers slowly found their way to play with the strands of hair on her forehead.

"What are..." Alice was about to ask him about his plans for tomorrow, so she could talk to him about going to her home, but before she could finish, Lucas's phone rang.

As soon as his mobile rang, Lucas immediately pulled his hands down from her face and began to search for his mobile in his coat pocket.
