Lucas felt a surge of frustration, torn between her rudeness towards him, the one wanting to protect her, and her earnest request for someone who had attempted to harm her.

"Alright, if you want it this way," he finally conceded, retrieving his mobile and promptly dialing the number of higher authorities as he walked away.

As he left, Alice turned her gaze to Milla, who stood calmly amidst the turmoil.

"You are really ungrateful. How could you embarrass him like this? He did it all for you," Milla chided.

Alice chuckled at Milla's words. "Then tell him not to do anything for me from now. I don't need his pity."

Alice cut her off.

"You should be happy, seeing us like this. Don't you always want us to separate? Let me give you some good news," Alice withdrew her eyes from Milla and glanced at Lucas, who was engrossed in his call.

"Congratulations, we are divorced."
