LOGINOh my god... oh my god, help me. I hope that he's not in front of my apartment.
I prayed when I finished the night watch and had to go back to rest in my apartment before starting another part time job at the cafe 4 hours from now.
I slowly stepped towards my room after turning from the stairs and looked around that there was no one around.
I quickly stepped into the room at the far end of my apartment and hurriedly unlocked it.
Luckily this time there was no paper attached with a knife. I had to put a tape on my door so that it wouldn't look like a hole caused by the knife.
Blam....
Letting out a long sigh, I entered my room and stopped when I saw a colorful bouquet of tulips, which is my favorite flower, on the kitchen counter.
But instead of being happy to see the bouquet, my heart ached to know how it got there?
My. God!
I’m doomed….
I said weakly and slumped to the floor staring at the bouquet of flowers.

.. 4 hours later ..
"Hello Dwyne..." Greeted Kate who immediately looked at the bouquet of flowers I brought "Wooww... what's this?"
I handed the bouquet to her, "Someone I don't like gave it to me, but it's a shame to throw it away so I thought it could be a decoration in this cafe." I replied casually while taking an apron and started wearing it after putting the bag under the table to get ready.
Kate, who was the middle-aged woman who owned the place where I worked, giggled at my explanation with a shake of her head.
"It's expensive, you know, are you sure it's okay?" She teased me, but I just nodded while shrugging unconcernedly, "okay," she said before dividing the flowers and placing them on several tables in the cafe.
Kate, the 40-year-old woman who owns this hangout with her boyfriend who works for a big company. I don't know the name of the company, but her boyfriend’s name is Richard. he comes over a few times, usually on weekends to help out or for a quick dinner with his colleagues.
She accepted me into her job when I started college and understood my busy schedule as an intern at the hospital, so we were like sisters.
She also often helped me with school payments by giving me an advance payment and I was very grateful to know a woman like her.
"Hey, Dwyne." Paula, another worker came in and started to get ready, "Wow... looks like Richard's getting into the act with those flowers." She commented as she put on her apron and saw Kate busy arranging my flowers. All of us who work with Kate know about her boyfriend, Richard.
"It's not Richard, it's your friend's fans." Kate said quickly after hearing that while pointing at me with her head.
Paula raised an eyebrow and looked back at me, "Daniel?" She teased as she wiggled her eyebrows and made me roll my eyes, yes, everyone here knows about Daniel too.
"No," I groaned.
Paula gasped, "Anyone else? wow." She continued to tease and Kate just laughed as she came over to us after she was done with her business.
"We open in 5 minutes, is everything ready?" Kate asked and stood behind the counter.
We nodded yes at the same time Liam, the third employee, walked in.
"Sorry, almost late," he said as he hurriedly put down the bag and picked up his apron then stopped when he saw the decoration of the room, "Wow... Was it Richard, Kate?" he said happily while looking at her.
Paula laughed, "This time it's wrong, our friend has a lot of fans." She said while patting my back and I had to groan in embarrassment again when Liam also started wiggling his eyebrows to tease me.
"Wow! Daniel doesn't give up!" He commented and I was grateful when the cafe door opened and some customers came in which made me pretend to be busy serving them.
My God, why does everyone think it’s from Daniel?!
Today was busier than usual, and I was grateful that my friends didn't have a chance to tease me.
Just when I thought everything was going smoothly and safely, my body froze as I saw Richard enter the cafe with three of his friends because I just realized something when I saw them.
“Richard?!” Kate sounds happy when she sees him.
It was the first time this man called Richard had come before it turned dark and I only saw him clearly.
My heart was beating fast as I watched the man closely.
No, not because he was handsome, I knew he was handsome but that's not what surprised me instead the clothes he was wearing.
What surprised me was that I just remembered that Richard was always dressed neatly in a black suit. I thought it was an office outfit, but I just remembered that he was wearing the same clothes as that horrible man.
Pretending to be busy, I watched them from the corner of my eye, Kate who greeted them sounded surprised about something.
Then, when they looked surprised by the flower decorations inside the cafe and looked at me, I knew that I was right, they knew about the flower and me.
Cr*p!
Do they know that horrible man?
How could I not realize this?!
And Kate... Kate knows about that man too?!
Cling….
Then, my legs got really weak and I had to hold on to the counter as I saw new customers entering the cafe.
A man wearing sunglasses and a suit stared around the cafe before locking his gaze on me who stood transfixed behind the counter.
Oh my god, it's him!
Taking off his sunglasses, he slowly approaches the counter while continuing to stare into my eyes with a smirk forming on his face.
I turned around to ask Paula for help with the counter, she was making coffee for one of the customers and Liam was serving a table.
D*mn it!
As if he knew and could again read my mind, the man smiled widely while pretending to look at the menu while waiting for me.
Oh my god...
I'm so dead!

“You look proud, Phil.”Harry’s voice carried a mixture of curiosity and disbelief as he glanced sideways at his older brother. They had just stepped out of the hospital café, the late afternoon light stretching across the pavement, but the weight of what had just happened still lingered heavily between them.Phil turned his head slowly, meeting Harry’s gaze then, without hesitation, he nodded.“I am.”The answer came simply, but it was not light. It held conviction—something solid and unexpected after everything they had just witnessed.Edward, walking slightly behind them, let out a quiet sigh as he slipped his hands into his pockets.“A man who is brave enough to face the three of us without hesitation… who approaches us directly, without hiding, and claims our sister like that…” Edward said, shaking his head slightly. “That is not someone we can underestimate.”Phil let out a small breath, his lips curving into a fai
“I heard you met Benjamin,” Phil said, his voice steady but edged with something unreadable.Dwyne turned her head slowly to look at him, her expression calm, though her eyes held a quiet depth that had not been there before. After a brief pause, she gave a small nod.“Yes,” she answered simply. The word alone seemed to carry more weight than any long explanation could have.Phil studied her closely, as though trying to read between the lines of everything she was not saying. Harry shifted slightly in his seat, while Edward remained still, his gaze gentle but filled with concern.Dwyne drew in a soft breath before continuing, her voice quieter now, yet undeniably firm.“Because of Brad… I was able to face him.”The effect of her words was immediate. All three of her brothers looked at her in surprise, their reactions unguarded for the first time since the conversation had begun. There was disbelief, yes, but also something else—something closer to understanding. They might not know th
The café was quieter than the main lobby, but not by much. The soft hum of conversations and the clinking of cups filled the air, a strange contrast to the tension coiling tightly in Dwyne’s chest. She chose a table in the corner.Of course, it didn’t stay private for long.Marco and Gray positioned themselves nearby—not too close, but close enough. The other guards lingered at a distance, pretending to blend in, though their presence was impossible to ignore.Phil noticed immediately. His jaw tightened.Harry leaned back in his chair, arms crossed, scanning the room like he was trying to piece together a puzzle that didn’t make sense.Ed, however, stayed beside Dwyne, his expression softer, but filled with concern.“What is all this, Dwyne?” Phil asked, his voice low but firm. “Stop brushing it off. We deserve an explanation.”Dwyne exhaled slowly, staring down at her hands.Where do I even start?“First, hello, I’m glad to see you all again and this…” she gestured slightly around th
The next day, Dwyne couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow, a bemused smile tugging at her lips as she saw Marco and Gray standing in the lobby, a sleek black Mercedes waiting behind them. Both men stood confidently, arms crossed, clearly in no rush, as if they’d been waiting all morning.“Seriously? You two are my bodyguards now?” Dwyne exclaimed in disbelief, shaking her head as she walked toward the car. My God…She paused only for a second, glancing at the luxurious vehicle. It was the kind of car she never imagined herself stepping into, much less on a casual trip to the hospital.Marco and Gray exchanged amused looks, shrugging in unison. “You know how much you matter to him," Marco said with a grin, gesturing for her to get inside.Dwyne rolled her eyes at their response. “To him? Or to all of you?” she muttered as she slid into the car. It was a rhetorical question, but she couldn’t shake the feeling. The weight of it all. Us—they’d said. Them all. The realization was unsett
Phillipe Quinn stood by his office window, swirling the glass of whiskey in his hand. The weight of seeing Ellaine after all these years hung heavily on him. He hadn’t expected it, certainly not in the chaotic setting of a public hospital. Ellaine… She looks well…The years of separation, filled with silence and unanswered questions, flooded his thoughts. He wasn’t sure what to make of it, but one thing was clear—Ellaine hadn’t been alone. The memory of the man who accompanied her flashed in his mind. Who is he?There was something about him, something dangerous, even more so than Benjamin Harrington. Ugh.. The thought made Phillipe clench his jaw. Benjamin had been a nightmare for their family, especially for Ellaine, and the idea of someone worse lurking around her filled him with dread. His thoughts were interrupted when Harry, his second brother and colleague, spoke up. “What’s going on, Phillipe? You’ve been staring at me for a full minute. You look like you’ve seen a ghost.
My eyes widened when we arrived at The Astoria, a luxury apartment complex in Coral Gables, just a stone's throw away from Palm Beach. Is he serious?!The sleek glass facade gleamed under the afternoon sun, and palm trees lined the pristine entrance, making the place look more like a five-star resort than a residence. I couldn’t help but take in the grandeur as Gray stopped in the lobby. When I turned to Bradley, he was already staring at me, that guilt-ridden smile plastered on his face. He knew exactly what I was thinking."You put me in The Astoria?" I frowned, my voice filled with shock and a hint of disbelief. Of course, Bradley would go overboard after everything that had happened. I should’ve known this would be his way of keeping me safe.He raised his eyebrows, his playful grin barely masking the seriousness underneath. "It's the safest place," he replied. "Unless you want to stay in one of my mansions?" His eyes lit up in excitement, as though the idea of me moving into h
