Chapter 249 What a Tease

Even when falling, Faye beautifully composed herself. She was like an expressionist dancer. At least, that was the thought of those who saw her fall.

This included Victoria herself.

It all happened so fast that she barely had time to react. Just seconds ago, Victoria was about to fall right into the table, yet now Faye had pulled her back up and saved her from that tragedy.

When Victoria came back to her senses, Faye had already fallen elegantly onto the floor, hitting the table and causing the pastries and drinks atop to fall.

"Aunt Faye …" Victoria hurriedly reached out to help Faye up as she pushed herself off the floor. She checked Faye's body worriedly, asking, "Are you hurt? I'm sorry, I—I didn't mean to …"

Those last few words of hers were said quietly, clearly indicating her guilt.

Faye acted oblivious to this, however, and smiled. "I'm alright. I wasn't hurt."

Victoria immediately grew more guilty. She gnawed on her lip, feeling upset and anxious inside.
