Chapter 22 500 Thousand Dollars to Leave My Daughter

After dropping Lucy off, Faye and Cedric returned to their apartment. It had been furnished and decorated. It looked brand new.

Faye nodded with satisfaction.

"Not too bad, dude. Is there any money left on the card I gave you? Let me know if you've run out."

Cedric wondered whether he genuinely seemed like a boy toy. Still, he couldn't be bothered to explain.

"I didn't spend much. Don't worry about the money."

Then, he went to the guest room. The rest of the night passed in peace. They both slept soundly.

The next morning, Faye was rudely awakened by her phone ringing. The carer she'd hired for her mother told her that Clint was at the hospital. He and Flora were having an argument.

Damn, these pests just refused to leave them alone! Faye quickly washed up and ran out of her room.

Cedric happened to be dressed and ready to leave. He was confused when he saw her in such a hurry. "Where are you going?"

"The hospital!" She put on her shoes and turned to leave.
