MORGANA FOSTER

The next morning, after the doctor's visit, Bethany was still here organizing all the things I still had scattered around the room. I couldn't ask for a better friend than her.

My heart was mostly broken, but, on the other hand, warmed by the kindness and comfort of having someone to rely on in these moments.

"It's not about the child; I would be willing to love it as if it were my own. It's because of the lie and the extent it reached. It created a new life. And it would be a constant bond between them; I didn't want to be in the middle again."

I sighed, watching Bethany finish packing my clothes into the bag.

"Where are we going now?" she asked.

"I thought about our downtown apartment," I replied. "It's not far from here."

"As much as I love you, our little apartment in downtown Rookgaard doesn't provide the comfort you need right now," she said, tapping her fingers on her lips. "We can go to your house, the mansion."

"Ryan still lives there," I murmured sadly. "He'll

MORGANA FOSTERI'm home, but I couldn't sleep, despite being tired. Every time I closed my eyes, I ended up thinking about Ryan and the hot kiss we exchanged yesterday. Why did I have to love him? Why did I have to feel this way?Damn it. I can't give in to desires and let this feeling grow again. I sighed, throwing the pillow over my face to muffle a scream. Bethany had gone to the hospital, but before that, she came here and checked all my bandages, my medicines. I want to repay her, and I know she won't accept, but she deserves it for taking such good care of me.I stretched, looking at the clock on my cell phone; it was already 9:00 AM, Ryan must have already left for work so I could go get my coffee. I slid out of bed carefully, feeling the tense muscles from the poorly slept night. I looked over to the side of the bed and the crutches were there. I grabbed them with a resigned sigh, swinging myself on them as I made my way to the window; the garden outside the room was truly lush

  • Love me, baby   32 - You've forgotten

RYAN BURKEElena came here, I had totally forgotten that I was supposed to meet her for coffee this morning. Her face was pale, and she was squeezing her hands so tightly that the tips of her fingers had lost their color. I got up from the table, grabbing her by the waist and trying to guide her out of the kitchen, but she didn"t move. She trembled involuntarily, and her normally bright eyes were dull, reflecting a deep anguish that pierced my heart."Elena, what are you doing here?" My voice was soft but filled with concern as I tried to remain calm in the face of her obvious distress. I tried to wrap my arm around her, offering her some comfort, but she pushed me away and looked at Morgana with hatred.Morgana swallowed hard and continued sipping her coffee, but when she finally looked at Elena, she stared at me with eyes as wide as two oranges."Take her to the couch, Ryan!" Morgana practically shouted. "Quickly! Winnie, help me get to the living room."I quickly picked up Elena, wh

ELLIOT SHARONEven after all these days away from Morgana, it feels like not a single day has passed. Since that distressing moment in the hospital, when she was on the verge of anaphylactic shock, I had to stay calm to operate and find out the cause of the allergic reaction during surgery. There wasn't a more tense moment in my career. As I held the scalpel, my hands trembled not just from the surgical challenge before me, but also from the overwhelming concern for her. Every precise movement I made in that operating room was driven by the desire to have her well and safe by my side again. As much as I tried to maintain a professional distance, it was impossible to ignore the connection growing between us each day. However, even in the face of this growing love, there was a shadow looming over us: her contractual marriage to the man she loved. Morgana deciding to get a divorce didn't eliminate all the barriers that separated us. There were unresolved issues, past hurts that still need

  • Love me, baby   34 - At last someone who loves me

MORGANA FOSTERMy heart was tired of being pushed aside every time Elena showed up. Now, she had plenty of reasons to come around whenever she wanted.I sighed with all the sadness hanging over me again. Why was I feeling this way? Elliot hadn’t replied to me all day, and honestly, I just wanted him to respond so we could talk. It’s not like Bethany wasn’t my best friend of course she was but at this moment, I needed to talk to someone who could help me forget Ryan. The memories of the night we slept at the apartment flooded my mind, and they were definitely the best I had with him, how he made me feel special with just one kiss. For months, he harbored feelings for me, defended me during that awkward dinner with the "paper couple."And he always treated me well, even before all this. He even attended my father’s funeral. Looking back, he had treated me well since the beginning of the internship. Was I the only one crazy enough not to notice?Winnie brought me lunch in my room when Rya

MORGANA FOSTERThe morning sun was shining brightly through the open window. I barely slept at all the night before. All I wanted was to get this feeling out of me, for Ryan to just sign the divorce papers. A simple piece of paper to end all this so I could move on. Ryan’s indecision ate away at my soul, and he knew the power he still had over me. He knew I wouldn’t leave if he didn’t sign the papers. I just didn’t want to be the same love-struck fool anymore. That’s all I wanted. Winnie came into the room, humming and wishing me good morning.“Good morning, Winnie!” I said with my best smile. “Has Bethany already left for work?”“Miss Bethany left early today. Are you coming down for breakfast now?”“Soon!” I replied, stretching. “Has Ryan left?”“Oh! Mr. Burke left early. He said not to expect him back today.”“I see,” I replied, feeling a bit more cheerful at her response. “Is James around? I need to go out this afternoon.”“I’ll make sure he’s available for you. I’ll prepare your b

RYAN BURKEOnce again, the damn divorce issue. She was pressuring me to continue with the process, and it deeply upset me. I wouldn't give her the chance to leave. Is it selfish of me? Yes, it is. But I don't care. My heart screams for her. Maybe that's why I let her go two years ago, afraid of how she might feel about me.I wanted to reclaim all the days I missed with her, but now I had this new problem with Elena that would keep her in our lives forever. I sat on the couch, furrowing my brow, trying to regain some of my sanity. On one hand, I felt happy hearing the baby's heartbeat with Elena this morning, but I couldn't forget Morgana for anything. I want her with me. I want her to smile at me like she smiled at that stupid doctor.I rested my head on the back of the couch. How much confusion I had on my shoulders. I heard knocks on the bedroom door, and I muttered, "Come in," when James entered, looking nervous and tired. My most loyal friend and employee, "Mr. Burke, I have news a

RYAN BURKEI stepped out of the elevator when it stopped on the top floor, where my office was. Juliana, my secretary, greeted me with a shy 'good morning,' like all the women in this building, she didn't know how to act around me. I chuckled at her reaction, making a small gesture to take the meeting reports from her. "Mr. Burke, there's a guy named Diego Sanders waiting for you in your office."I nodded and entered the room. Diego was a childhood friend, it had been years since the family sent him to Japan to take care of business, and our contact had been scarce. I entered the room, which was large enough to have a small sitting area, and saw him sitting on the couch reading a magazine."Ryan!" he exclaimed loudly, his eyes shining with enthusiasm as he spotted me, getting up to give me a hug , "Long time no see!""Oh my God, you son of a gun! Long time!" I replied equally excitedly, leading him back to the couch , "Is there a reason for your visit? Don't get me wrong, my friend, I'

MORGANA FOSTERElliot dropped me off at the mansion's doorstep after our conversation and the long kiss we shared. Ryan's black Rolls-Royce was parked at the entrance when we arrived, and he opened the door as soon as Elliot turned off the car engine, nice. I turned to Alessandra, unbuckling her seatbelt:"Can you get out in front, please?"She hesitated for a moment, looking at Ryan outside with a serious and closed expression, then turned her eyes back to me, silently asking if she should indeed leave. I just nodded to her and watched her run into the house."Thanks for today, you're a great listener, Elliot," I said, biting my lip and pressing them lightly, causing a shy smile to appear on my face."I'll always be here to listen to you, Morgana," he said, placing his hand under mine, his long slender fingers tickling and radiating a friendly and warm heat. "Now, I think you have a different problem to deal with."His fingers pointed to the window. My eyes widened slightly as they no

MORGANA FOSTERI hurried down the hallway with my heart beating fast and my breath catching. If she found me, I was done for. I ducked under the table, covering my body with the curtain, trying not to make any noise."Gotcha!" The little blonde head ran towards me, stumbling in front of me. The bright blue eyes, as clear as Ryan's, stared at me with a toothless, gleaming smile."Oh, Alanis," I replied, patting the little one's head, "you found me, huh?"Alanis laughed, a childish, joy-filled laugh that filled the room. She pointed to the makeshift hiding spot under the table."'I found you, Auntie, but you're terrible at this!'" she exclaimed, her eyes still filled with amusement.I rolled my eyes affectionately, knowing my hiding attempt was useless. "'You're too smart, Alanis. I can't escape you, it seems.'"The little one got up and sat beside me, playing with her fingers as she looked at me. "'You look sad, Morgana. Why?'"I smiled, trying to disguise my feelings in front of her i

Four months later, Rookgaard, California. Burke's grandparents' house."The trial is in a week," Sorya says. "Do you want to go?"The dining table, once filled with laughter and the clinking of glasses and utensils, is now immersed in complete silence. I look around to make sure I'm not alone in my silence. I swallow the bitter ache of the hours of terror I suffered at the hands of the two women."I don't feel like seeing them again," I mutter, feeling a lump forming in my throat. "Just the thought of sharing the same space with them fills me with anger.""And you don't have to go if you don't want to!" Elena says, laying her hand on mine, giving me a warm smile. Her cheeks are rosy, and her belly is huge. The baby will be born soon.I give her a weak smile and mumble a quiet thank you to her. At first, I never thought I'd feel comfortable beside my 'rival,' but now that she's engaged to James, her presence is no longer a threat to me.

MORGANA FOSTER"You're really dumb, Mr. Burke!" Alessandra says, pressing the gun barrel against my head.I swallow hard, feeling the pressure and weight of the metal barrel on my head. My eyes automatically widen as if the whole world stops spinning when I hear the gun being cocked."Let's negotiate," Ryan says calmly, looking at the men with him, who step back a bit. "What do you want?""We've already said," Winnie replies this time. "16 million dollars in my account. By noon... And maybe I'll release this one here."She says, pulling my head back, which tilts backward. The taste of iron fills my mouth. Maybe this is it. A fight over money."Even if I wanted to, that's a lot of money," he replies."See? Mrs. Burke," Alessandra says with a laugh. "He doesn't think you're worth it.""In the end, all the Burke's are the same. Why are you so stubborn?" Winnie says, turning to face me. "Maybe he'll take us seriously if we shoot her. MORGANA FOSTER"Missed me?" Alessandra's unmistakable voice cuts through the entire shed, invading my ears.A new flood of emotions fills my soul as I spot her profile appearing in the corner of my eye until she's fully in front of me.How did I let myself be fooled by that silly story of her becoming a nurse to take care of her mother?"What happened?" Alessandra sneers with a disdainful expression on her face. "Cat got your tongue?""I think she's a bit surprised that you're my daughter," Winnie declares.Alessandra walks over to Winnie's side and leans on the counter. I hadn't noticed before, but there's a short resemblance between the two. I feel completely different now. Foolish for never noticing anything strange about them.I swallow hard as I watch the two of them. I can't believe this is true. Part of me wants to completely deny that I could be so blind."What are we going to do with her?" Alessandra says, turning to her mother."I don't know," Winnie replies with a satisfied

The intensity of the moment deepened with each revelation."However, the compensation didn't bring my loved ones back," she continued, her gaze fixed on some point beyond me. "And the person responsible for maintaining that machine, who didn't do his job properly, was none other than your father, Morgana. He was the supervisor that night. And he wasn't there to ensure that everything was working properly."A chill ran down my spine. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. My father, responsible for two deaths?"So, you think I should pay for his mistakes?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.Winnie gave a bitter smile. "No, Morgana. You don't understand. MORGANA FOSTERI wake up feeling a tight grip around my wrists, chest, and ankles. My suspicion is confirmed when I pull them and feel the rope scraping against my skin. I raise my head slowly, still feeling a heavy weight on it, accompanied by a throbbing buzz in my ear.I open and close my eyes a few times, getting used to the low light of the place. My mouth is completely dry; I run my lips around my tongue, partially moistening them. There's no noise outside. At least not near where I am.I try not to panic and breathe slowly to catch my breath.I see my bare feet and nails covered in dirt and small pieces of grass. Looking up, I spot the floating particles of dust coming through a tiny glass window. I look to the side, and the walls are cast iron. As if I'm in some sort of container or warehouse shed. The smell of mold and rust is faint but can be sensed in the environment. The floor is dirty, with dust everywhere. My dress is slightly torn at the hem, with tape wrapped around th

RYAN BURKEThe day at the company was chaotic. With Uncle Ned's departure, things spiraled out of control too quickly. Many questions arose about how things reached this point and went unnoticed by us all this time. And with all this situation, it fell to me to analyze all the transactions and operations carried out by him and his team. There were many suspicions and many discrepancies in the information.I had to inform Stefan and Nick about the recent events so they could be prepared to support my aunt Cibila. I assured them that I wouldn't involve the police in this out of consideration for our friendship and because we're family, but he would have to leave the company without any rights.Which is not unfair. I also passed on the information to my grandfather, who didn't have a very different reaction from the shareholders, but Grandpa Burke would handle Ned differently. And that was their problem. I spent the whole day analyzing every single transaction he made. There was a lot to
