Chapter 7

*Asha Pov*

                      

Next day I woke up with slight headache because of that stupid crying.

After getting ready I went downstairs near the Kitchen to see few helpers are moving here and there totally terrified and making breakfast.

“What happened?” I asked them entering the Kitchen to drink some coffee.

“Our head chef is not feeling well so she can’t cook today.” One of them said and I can see they are worried.

“Is she ok? I mean nothing serious right?” I asked them.

“She just needs to take rest for today.” Another one replied.

“Then why are guys so terrified?” I asked them confused.

“Because Maam, we don’t know what to prepare for all the courses today.” One helper said.

“That’s it. Here I will tell you the items and you just prepare them.” I said asking for the notebook.

They happily gave me one and I wrote the menus for breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

“OK. Now you can prepare Breakfast.” I said handing the book.

“Oh God! There is only one hour.” One said and everyone panicked again.

“Hey! It will be easy for us. Let me help you all too.” I said and that’s how I spend one hour with them and prepared the breakfast.

Everything is over and then we heard Aunty saying from the Dining room “We are waiting for five minutes. Where is the breakfast?”

“Let’s go.” I said and carried one item and entered the Dining room.

Then I saw everyone sitting at the Dining table. I mean everyone.

“Asha! You are inside that kitchen until now? We thought you are still sleeping.” Aunty said when I placed the dish I am carrying on the table.

“Actually the Head chef is not feeling well Maam. So we all started panicking because we don’t know what to prepare then Asha Maam told us the menu and also helped us in preparing the breakfast as there is very little time remaining.” One helper said smiling at me.

I smiled back and sat down on a chair little far away from Lucky and his friends.

“Really? That’s very sweet of you Asha. Thank you so much.” Aunty said smiling brightly at me.

“Please Aunty. It’s nothing.” I said and smiled at her.

I turned and looked up which is my biggest mistake because I got two glaring eyes looking at me.

What? Is this also a problem for them?

“Didn’t I tell you Anil? She will be a best Daughter-In-Law.” Aunty said to Uncle.

Oh Shut! Now I understood my mistake. Which was not generally but they just made it to be a mistake.

“Mom! We will leave for beach after having breakfast.” Lucky said saving me.

Ofcourse I am here to not get saved right. Because that’s what happened in the next minute.

“Here ‘We’ means Asha too right?” Uncle asked Lucky.

Lucky turned towards me and smiled. I shook my head slowly to tell him my message.

“Ofcourse Sure!” He replied.

“Ouch!” he hissed in pain. I looked at him confused then I saw Sandy glaring at him.

Good thing Sandy. I too want to do the same.

“What happened Lakshman?” Aunty asked worriedly.

“Nothing Mom! I am fine.” He replied smiling reluctantly.

“I am actually busy so I can’t go with you guys.” I said patting myself.

They all looked at me surprised. All means all six members.

“What nonsense? You are going with them Asha.” Aunty said looking at me.

“But..” I started saying.

Uncle cut me off and said “Do you want to ask your Dad’s permission? Don’t worry I will talk to him.”

I looked at him wide eyed and said “No! I will go with them.”

For the rest of the breakfast I just looked down and ate calmly.

After some time, both Uncle and Aunty left us all alone.

But I didn’t dare to look up and just sat there.

Then I heard some conversations.

“Sandy! Go and call him.” Lucky said.

“Lucky! You know he will not come out of the room right. He is working.” Sandy replied.

“But he will do whatever you ask him to right?” Vicky I guess asked her.

“Yeah! But here we are asking him to come out of his work to enjoy which he never does.” Sandy replied.

I couldn’t stop myself and asked them looking up “Who is ‘He’ here?”

“Didn’t you meet him yesterday?” Lucky asked me surprised.

“I only saw you four and no one was there with you guys.” I replied frowning.

“He is my…” Sandy was about to say but Vicky cut her off and said “He is her Uncle.”

“Oh!” I said and nodded.

I saw him winking at Sandy and Mandira.

I shrugged and got up from my seat to go to my room. I am sure that they don’t want me to go out with them.

“Asha?” I heard Vicky calling me.

“Yes!” I replied turning towards him.

“Can you do us all a favor?” he asked and everyone just looked at me.

“Sure.” I replied nodding him to continue.

“We want Sandy’s Uncle to come with us. But he locked himself and doing his work. Can you call him outside?” Vicky asked.

“But it is better to leave him like that.” I said looking at him.

“Yeah! But we want him to enjoy his life too.” He said.

“Why should I be the one do call him?” I asked them totally confused.

“Because we just want to try it. We are not sure that he will come out now too.” Sandy replied.

I am surprised that she is talking to me normally.

I nodded and asked “Show me his room?”

“Don’t you know it is beside yours? Lucky’s old room!” Sandy replied smirking.

I looked at Lucky in surprise.

“Yeah! I wanted to sleep near my friends so.” Lucky said looking everywhere but me.

I shrugged and started to go towards Sandy’s Uncle’s room. They all followed me.

I knocked on the door and heard ‘Go Away’ immediately.

“Call him by yourself.” Mandira said.

“What is his name?” I asked them.

“Just refer him as ‘Uncle’. If he is my Uncle then he is yours too right?” Sandy replied.

I smiled at her and once again knocked on the door saying “Uncle! Can you please open the door?”

Then I heard nothing. It is totally silent.

I turned towards them to say this to Sandy but no one is standing behind me.

I leaned on the door and frowned not understanding anything.

To my utter horror the door opened suddenly and before I could balance myself it is completely opened.

I shrieked closing my eyes as I loosed my foot and was about to fall. I waited for few seconds for the impact of getting hurt after falling on the floor.

But it never happened. I opened my eyes to see someone holding me.

I looked at that person to see a very handsome face.

He looked at me in shock mirroring my expression. I am shocked because he is not at all looking like some Uncle to anybody.

“You can never be Sandy’s Uncle.” I blurted out not thinking properly.

I looked at him wide eyed realizing my mistake and thought can this day become any better. Please note the Sarcasm……
