Chapter 394 The Person She Was Waiting For Would Never Look For Her Again

As he hugged her waist, Laurence thought Zoey was still too skinny. Her stomach was flat, and he could encircle her entire waist with just one arm.

As always, he kept a light on for her and rested his chin on her head. He kissed her cheek from time to time and suddenly became greedy for her scent. It was faint, just like the wind after flowers had bloomed in spring, and it made him feel comfortable.

Zoey wasn't asleep yet. Although exhausted, she found it very hard to fall asleep while being held in Laurence’s arms. Rose’s words popped into her mind. When one lets go, they would see through everything and feel neither love nor hate. They just no longer cared. She curled up under the blanket and hid half her face against the mattress. She didn't know when she could finally let go and wished she could put a switch in her heart to turn her feelings on and off.

Laurence didn't seem sleepy and asked, "Are you asleep?"

Zoey answered with a muffled voice, "Yeah."

She heard a low laugh
