George just didn't trust Laurence, and he wouldn't agree to his terms so easily, no matter how tempting they sounded. The icy wind whipped across the cliff, stinging his eyes. He ordered his men to bring Zoey and Sarah out. Their hands were tied with rope, and each of them had a blade held to their neck. Their skin looked as white as a sheet under the bright sun. Their thin frames made them look as if the wind could blow them over.

Zoey looked up and gazed at Laurence quietly. She didn't feel much joy seeing him. Standing a distance away, Laurence still looked calm, fearless, and prepared even though the game was not in his favor. What was he thinking about? Would he struggle to decide who to save first? The question of who to save shouldn't be difficult for him. Although Zoey could guess his answer, she still couldn't help but imagine the impossible.
