Chapter 105

Zoey didn’t know what was wrong with Laurence. She was trapped between him and the sofa, unable to move.

Laurence’s eyes were chilly as he glared at her. A hint of anger surfaced when she didn't explain herself.

Zoey was a little scared of him when he was in one of his moods like this. She tried to free herself, but it only made him angry. Laurence grabbed her by the hair and pulled her up roughly. “Explain.”

Zoey wasn't even sure whether the “bastard” he referred to was her uncle or Mr. Lane. She didn’t want to tell him about either of them.

Even though Laurence did not love her, he was still quite possessive over her.
