Chapter 75 – A Glimpse of Happiness

The duties of a mother are a long, long list. I’ve yet to see the end of it.

The responsibilities range from trivial to significant tasks. Whenever I was on the brink of losing my sanity, I would remember my mother and how this would’ve been harder on her as she was also staying active in her job. She was a working mom, yet she still raised me well. That was what kept me going.

But there were times when I’d fuck up, or miss the things I should’ve done.

I’m far from perfection, but it was a trying process.

I took Sebby to the ice cream shop down the street, despite us freezing in the cold. I couldn’t possibly decline my son’s humble request to try out the ice cream. It was his first time tasting such wonder and I couldn’t bring myself to spoil his fun.

“Agh—cold!” He shrieked after a lick of the strawberry-flavored dessert. He pried it away from his mouth and winced. Teary-eyed and squirming in his seat, I held back a laugh.

“Mama. . .” His voice shook. “. . .cold.”
