Chapter 63 – Didn’t See Coming

“I’m sure you’ve been expecting this for quite some time.”

His glare hardened. I had to bite back from gulping in nervousness. This is it. The confrontation I’ve been preparing myself for. If he insults me, I can accept it. If he says he’s disappointed, I can accept it. But I’m not ready to accept it if he beats me. Nevertheless, I can do this. I ‘should’ be able to do this.

“Tell me everything, amor.” His gentle tone surprised me. Will he still use that tone after everything?

“I want no secrets between us. What are you?”

It took me a moment to compose myself and my answer. I contemplated if I should be honest now or risk this again and keep going.
