Chapter 5

Ylisha's Perspective

After what happened, the school undergoes a disciplinary hearing and decided to let that senior jerk go along with his friends and transfer to another school.

After a week, it feels like nothing happened. And also, like my usual self, I'm just sitting quietly in the corner of our room and studied hard as normal students do. Then, our principal went inside our school with a man walking next to her. And it was Clench, I didn't recognize him at first because of his new haircut but it suits him well.

I observed him from head to toe. “So, you're my age then,” I chuckled, and he started introducing himself. He introduced himself shortly but in an impressive way. It wasn't bad after all.

CLENCH’S Perspective

My first day of school just started, finally, it's over! I was still nervous, I didn't know anyone, yet I'm glad it went well, and I'm glad I was in the same room with Ylisha, but she didn't approach me once, so, I decided also not to approach her, she acts like we never met though.

It's already lunch break. I went to the canteen after visiting my biological mother at the café, then my eyes rolled and saw Ylisha, seating alone at the corner. I sat on one of the chairs not beside her, but in a place where I can watch her. Well, a minute, has passed, but I wonder why no one ever tried to approach her. I didn't mind her and just kept eating my food.

***Weeks later *****

Ylisha kept seating at the same spot where she was from these past days, and so do I. I'm always watching her but honestly, I look like a stalker here, hehe, but I'm only kinda' curious about her.

"Does she didn't have any friends? " I asked myself curiously. I breathe calmly and I bravely took my food and went near her.

"Hey, can I join you?" I asked, but she looked at me coldly with her blanked face.

"You sure? You won't regret it?" she replied, which made me feel nervous about her.

"What about that regret thing?" I said, and she gave a sign using her hands for me to look around us, and I was shocked. Everybody's kept looking at us, and they look like they were all waiting for what will happen next, I don't know, but I'm curious.

"Well, I don't like to think about them, but why are they staring like crazy? " I asked and sat down in front of her.

"You will soon know, by the way, do you need anything? Why do you approach me so suddenly ?" she asked, and I smiled.

"You look lonely, that's why I wanted to join you, is it okay? " I explained happily, but she only responded with a strange look, and that was really awkward you know.

"For what for?" she asked coldly, and that's made me grin at her again.

"Well, weren't you and I became friends since that day we talked at the hospital? " I said, and she looked startled that her eyes went all wide. It's funny yet cute, honestly. Hehe.

“You look like you have seen a ghost? "

"It's not like that, but that friend thing, like what? Me?" she asked while pointing her finger at herself.

“What kind of reaction is that, don't want me to be your friend?”

“So, it's really me?”

"Yes, you, is there any else around us right now? " I said and frowned. Tsssk. A few minutes later, I don't know, but she just laughed.

“Why are you laug-” I stopped when I see her laughing happily, unlike that day at the hospital she was laughing but I can practically tell her mood, she's sad inside.

"Okay, so your my very first friend then,"

"What? Me? Your first friend?" I asked like I can't believe it, then she nodded her head. So, it means I was right she doesn’t have any friends? I look at her eyes and I can tell she's telling the truth. I wanted to ask her why, but I dare not say it.

"So, you're not going to ask me why?" she asked, and my eyes blinked twice, no, not just twice, more than that, I guess. Can she read my mind?

"Well if you're willing to share the story, I'm glad to listen then!" I said then she smiled.

So, she told me everything, the reason no one is approaching her because of what happened about her knocking out a bunch of guys that's why everybody is afraid of her, and that's the reason she went into trouble last time when I first saw her, I laughed at first, but she's serious, oh! My gosh, I can't believe it she's telling the truth. I kept listening to her and asked her why she's so strong, and she told me that her father is actually a soldier, and he trained her. That is why, and I can't still ever imagine that a girl like her really exists.

Well months passed, we became close friends. Everybody is also asking me, why am I hanging around with Ylisha? Well, guess, she's ain’t bad at all, that's all I can say. Anyway, back to me and Ylisha, we only talked during lunch break or break time, she always refused to hang out with me when I am asking her. I guess her dad is really strict that made Ylisha keep track of her time.

"Waaaaahh!" Ylisha pushed me in the back, and grabbed my head, then locked her hand on my neck and punched me in the head, “looks like you're thinking something deep there hah?” she said.

"Nothing, that's hurt! " I replied and removed her hands from me.

“Really?” she said.

“Yeah! ” I responded, but she kept teasing me, and we started catching each other here in the hallway.

Well, why am I hanging around with this girl? Like I've told you she's not bad at all, she's nice and kind if you gotta know her, she might be scary sometimes because she's a weirdo, her mood switched off unpredictable especially when the class was over. But I know she's not the person what others think about her and whatever they say, it will not change my point of view about her.

Years had passed, finally, we're now college. I and Ylisha stay in touch, we entered the same school as well. Since we're already out of that high school place, Ylisha completely living her college life differently, she started talking to others and began to make friends with them. But of course, the rumours about her were still spreading, yet I'm glad because instead of judging her they were all amazed, they can't even believe it.

A few days later...

"Clench, please!" Ylisha begged, acting all cute in front of me, telling me to buy her chocolate next time since her father is not allowing her to go outside that much. But why is she so cute? I can feel my cheeks are burning especially when she started pouting her lips. She kept begging.

“Hey, you're so annoying,” I said, but she won't stop. I wanted to scold her but I can't then my eyes start to observe her. Her hair grew longer, her pretty green eyes are really turning me on, and her red lips that suit her white skin is really perfect. She keeps acting cute, and I couldn't turn away my eyes from her. This time I could tell I'm falling in love with her.

"Clench, seriously?" I said to myself, “wake up, ” I murmured and pinch myself while looking at this girl beside me.

"Okay," I said, and she hugged me, which made my heart fluttered.

“Hey, what did you just did to me?” I said.

“Hah?” she asked with curiosity, then I started to cover my body that made her realize that she just hugged me. We both felt awkward and like lightning speed, we turned back our backs to each other. Then, Ylisha suddenly got a call, I turn around and saw her face emotion went serious. There she goes again, her mood suddenly switched again.

“Clench, I need to go home now, " she seriously said and walked away without even saying goodbye.

"Okay, " I said, well I think she didn't even hear me, she's in a hurry. I frowned as I watched her, running, and slowly fading away from me.
