Chapter 23

Mrs Rose had been taking care of Vivian for months now after she left her husband's house. Vivian was married to Jerry, who didn'tseem to value her at all. Mrs Rose had been a source of comfort and guidance to Vivian during this difficult time.

One day, Mrs Rose called Vivian on the phone. "Vivian, you need to come back to Jerry's house," she said.

Vivian was taken aback. She didn't want to go back to that unhappy place. She had finally found some peace and solace with Mrs Rose. "I don't want to go back," Vivian said.

"But you have to," Mrs Rose replied. "You're his wife, and you made a commitment."

Vivian hung up the phone feeling upset. She didn't know what to do. She had no choice but to go back, but she didn't want to. She decided to speak to Leo, her boss, about her predicament.

"Leo, I got a call from Mrs Rose. She's asking me to go back to Jerry's house," Vivian said.
