Chapter 33

We arrive at Tullamarine airport where Mason awaits us by the limo.

‘Mr and Mrs Brightly. I hope you both enjoyed your honeymoon.’

‘We sure did. It was amazing.’ I smile.

‘How’s Nolan recovering?’ Ace asks.

‘He is doing really well. I was actually just visiting him at the hospital. In a few days he’ll be discharged.’

‘That’s great news.’ Ace smiles.

We arrive home where Martin and Belinda greet us and take our suitcases upstairs. I pull out my phone and type a text message to Hailey telling her we are home. Twenty minutes later, the intercom buzzes. I look at the monitor to see Jack’s car waiting at the gates with Hailey in the passenger seat. I laugh at Hailey’s eagerness to see me, press the button and watch the gates open as they drive in.

‘You have to tell me everything,’ Hailey says, making herself comfortable next to me on the couch.

‘I’ll put the kettle on, shall I?’ Martin offers.
