Supposedly, Rosie’s attendance should not matter to Ivanka. She had already divorced Michael, and they were no longer tied to each other.

But Ivanka still said to Rosie gently, “Grandma, I really have something to attend to, so I can’t return yet. I’ll visit you once I get home, alright? I’ll call whenever I’m free. Sometimes, neither of us can answer your calls. That’s not because we’re ignoring you on purpose. We’re simply preoccupied with other matters.”

Although Ivanka was explaining herself to Rosie, they both knew that Rosie rarely called them. Even if she did, they have indeed answered her calls.
