Jacob’s POV
At my words, her eyes widened, an almost imperceptible intake of breath passing through her lips.
"You are the woman I love" I had said, and the impact of those words hung heavy in the air between us.
For a moment, there was a beat of silence. Then, slowly, her gaze softened, and a hint of color rose to her cheeks. She looked at me, truly looked at me, and what I saw in her eyes was a mixture of surprise, vulnerability, and hope.
