Laura POV
Luke paced down the room while Sandra was trying to calm him down. So far, he had been more frustrated than any of us. The doctors were yet to give us some feedback and we had been in the hospital since yesterday night till the next morning.
"What's taking him so long," Luke yelled, the nurses around glared at him.Apparently, we were in their family doctor's hospital.
"Luke you need to calm down," Sandra said trying to talk some sense into the raging Luke."I'm gonna kill that guy," Luke said with his fist clinched.
"Hey, look at me," Sandra said as she nudged him.
"I understand that you are worried. We are all worried, the best thing for us to do is to stay calm and we'll get through this," she stated and Luke sighed.
"How can I stay calm when my sister is badly hurt and in a freaking ward, huh? Tell me!" he demanded. It made Sandra flinch and shake bow her head with fear.
"I'm so sorry," he muttered after
Laura POVWe stayed with Katherine, chatting and laughing with her just to make her feel at ease. You know, I have been spending a lot of time with these three, but my three is back in the orphanage feeling blue. I admit I have not been spending time with them that much but I hope they don't notice. Who am I kidding, they would have noticed it but they won't tell me.The door flung open and Luke walked in, looking like he ran a marathon race."What's wrong why did you barge in like that," Sandra queried Luke, who was trying to catch his breath. He slowly waved his hand and stared at Anne."Anne, your mom's here. Technically, she's in the house and she's looking for youx" he stated and Anne gasped."Is she alone?" Anne asked. "No, she brought multiple of guards and my dad is keeping her company," he said, finally able to catch his breath he walked over to Kat bed side."Ugh, that's my mom alright," Anne mumbled. "You guys should go I'll s
*Laura Point Of View*I woke up the next day and got ready for my morning chores. I totally forgot that Anne left that I went to knock on her door for laundry. When I got no reply, I remembered that she left.I sighed deeply and went on with my work. As usually, Fred took me to school but it was after I checked on Katherine. And guess what? She's gonna be discharged today."Hey gir--- ladies," I smiled when I saw my friends seated. Everyone except Gabriel was there."Hi Max, Ricky," I turned to each of them and they smiled."How was your night?" I asked and dropped my bag and collapsed on my seat. "Bad, I had a horrible dream and when I woke up I couldn't sleep again," Harper pouted and I gasped dramatically."That's so bad," I tilted my head and she rolled her eyes. "What about you Nelly," I called and she sighed."I actually went to my uncle's house yesterday and came back late in the night " Nelly yawned. "I didn't have enough
Laura's Point Of View"Laura. Laura!" A hand slighty grazed over my face. "Huh?" I shook my head in confusion."We are about to go into the gym and you just froze," Nelly spoke.Oh! It was just my imaginations. Remember what happened the first day I introduced myself in the orphanage that's what just happened.I'm so happy that it isn't real. Gabriel is still with me and so are my friends.I looked at my friends staring at me, worry written boldly on their faces."I am fine," I held myself from running into their arms including Gabriel's."Come on," he dragged me. "We are going to be late now," I blurted and our friends trailed behind us.He held me close and looked around, probably for Cody..... Is it me or does it feel familiar like in my trance. I don't want it to end like that, I have to change my answer. And even if I say yes, I don't think that Gabriel or my friends will ever leave me, but yet again
*Luke's Point Of View*I stared at myself through the mirror as I raked my hair with my fingers. My eyes lingered on the black suit that is a bit far from me, positioned neatly.I have a day left for the wedding and I am so nervous in a bad way, or good way? Well I don't know.Me getting married is exciting but the only thing wrong is that I don't love her. I don't know why I thought this could work. I'm clearly having thoughts. Anne's beautiful and all but I don't love her, I don't.I agreed to this because of the orphanage, I was ready to do it but now something is holding me back. Anne and I don't share a feeling, a feeling that I share with....Sandra.I know that I and Sandra have been distance and that's suppose to make me fail a bit out of love with her but....every single time I see her walked pass me with a shy smile I think of what am missing.I'm missing Sandra.I snapped quickly out of my thoughts when a knock was he
*Laura's Point Of View*It have been an hour now. I've been on my huge bed since we were giving our rooms. My legs are aching to move around but I'm a guest, it might look strange. But it's so tempting...Ahhh!!!I have to meet Anne atleast. I walked out of my room and slowly approached Luke's room felling uncomfortable about the guards around.I felt like I'm been watched everywhere I go.I hastily knocked on the door, wanting to get inside as quick as possible."Hey," I called as the door opened to smiling Luke."Come in," I quickly scrambled inside not wanting to waste anytime."Okay? What's that about?" Luke queried, with a puzzled look."I just feel like I'm being watched by the guards. It's new to me but I don't like it. I feels awkward," I stated and I chuckled."I haven't gotten used to that very much too. I was a kid when I started coming here and it felt strange but I didn't care.""I'll try
*Luke's Point Of View*"Do you Luke Muller accept Princess Anne of England to be lawfully wedded wife?" The priest asked."I do, I said hestitatedly. I can see her tensed up and I instantly regret my words."Do her majestic, princess Anne of England accept Luke Muller to be your lawfully wedded husband?" The place is silent. We both don't want this and whatever that she says seals our faith. She takes a glance at her mother before she sighed. "I do," the crowd breaks in applauds. They rejoiced but we didn't, we we weren't getting married to the one we loved. The cake cutting and the rest were done simultaneously. In a moment I turned to were Sandra was sitting but, she wasn't there. My eyes scanned the whole area but she was no where to be found. In the mist of my searching and state of being tensed I heard a scream, we all heard a scream and we dashed out towards the direction. The sight there was traumatising. Sandra was beneath the
*Anne's Point Of View*I woke up at the sound of the alarm. Today is the day, my wedding day. How great! Feel free to note my sarcasm. In seconds, my room was flooded by the maids and my mother."Mother, can't I have some more minutes, I'm still sleepy," I rubbed my eyes and yawned."It's morning already," Mother said as she slowly opened the curtains. The ray of sun reflected on me and I groaned. I never wanted morning to come. I wanted the night to repeat itself over and over again, just to avoid the wedding. In seconds, I was dragged out of the bed and into the bathroom. I was stripped of my clothes and put into the bath tub. The thing with being a princess is that I don't do a thing.I don't wash my clothes or pull my clothes or bath by myself. The maids scrubbed my body quickly. Once they were done, I was wrapped with a towel.I was baptised with lotion. I sat on my dressing stool and let the maid do their work. The
*Anne's Point Of View*"I'm sorry I can't," Oliver spat out and everyone gasped including me."What? Why?" I asked as tears clouded my eyes.He can't be possible doing this to me, not after what I've been through for him."I can't explain. It's-""Just stop! Oliver please stop! I thought you loved me " I paused as tears flowed down my cheeks."Just let me explain!" He shouted but I ignored him."I thought you cared but I guess it was just fake!" I yelled with much sadness.Mom just looked at me, her face blanked."Oh goodness, let me talk. Anne I will never marry you....until I properly court you," he said and my face litted up."We have feelings for each other and I want it to grow more outside marriage. I want to know more about you and learn how to make you happy!" He beamed and the crowd busted into cheers and I grinned, internally blushing."Is that too much?" He asked frowning and I laughed."N
*Third Person's Pnt Of View*The celebration was grand. Chandeliers glimerring beautifully, fancy curtains, perfectly arranged chairs and so on. The celebration was to be held at the grand ballroom in the royal castle. Many types of dishes filled the reserved pots, trays and other vessels required for cooking. The cooks were doing a great job so far.The environment was busy and elegant. A few person's were still lingering close to the decorations trying to perfect them. Drops of flowers petals filled the altar, as directed by the queen. Laura was right about this been the greatest. It took some few minutes before the two groom, anticipately waiting.Meanwhile, the brides were in their own chambers preparing for their upcoming celebration. Laura stood close to them, the queen and two brides wouldn't have it any other way. She was closer to them than any other female specie.Laura sucked her mouth like candy as she stared at the two brides. She was battlin
*Laura's Pnt Of View*"W-What?" I stuttered and she sighed."This is your brother," she motioned to the little boy beside the man. The boy hopped happily to me. I was beyond shocked! I mean..what? What??"I don't...understand," I muttered and the man sighed. He walked closer to me and hugged me, followed by the little boy."I know but you will. We are so happy to see you." "Look if this is some joke, just end it," I blurted out and the woman looked down."It's not some joke, it is real," she smiled, something else glittered in her eyes."I don't believe you!" I responded codly and I looked away. I didn't want to see her face."Why?" The boy asked and I looked up to stare at him. So innocent!!"Because my mom is dead and my father standing right there," I pointed to Mr Howard."It's really rude to remind him of his wife and my mother's death," I listed."These are my siblings too" I gestured to them."
*Laura's Pnt Of View*I have been in the room, calculation the time ever since I woke up. It was the next day and I usually got breakfast by 10 am. I didn't touch the food that much but I hid the fork and the small knife in the bed. Thankfully, it was Cody who brought my food. I could tell that he was ashamed to face me.I was sure he wasn't staying at home today before of his father and his conversation yesternight. I already have somethings planned out. I am not going to be sulking and waiting for tomorrow. If Cody's father fall asleep or goes out, I'll sneek out. I have to try, I'll never give up.If he catches me, I'll bite off his arm and run as fast as I can. That's not an actual plan but it's something. Something I can manage..I suddenly heard heavy footsteps and I panicked a little. I quickly shoved the knife and fork under the bed. I'm not sure that I'll use them but I had to be prepared to defend myself. The door opened slowly and I rest
*Laura Pnt Of View*"What do you mean by that?" I asked as I shifted back."I love you, okay?" That was not bad at all! I'm been sarcastic. Why does everyone love me? Why am I complaining."I'm sorry but I don't feel the same way," I said calmly, thinking he would understand."I didn't ask you! I just want you to know," he said. "If we get married, I will help you out of here.""I'll find another way," I said and he smirked. "There's no other alternative and you have no choice." he stated as he slowly walked towards me.I shifted back, back and back till I was corned by a headboard. He leaned slowly towards me, his target my lips but we were fortunately interrupted by his father."What's going on here?" His voice echoed in the room and Cody straightened up."I was just telling her about my mother. Since she is going to be my step mom, I...." He croaked. Liar!Pretender!"I see and how did she take it," his fat
*Laura Pnt Of View*"I'm not your father. I never was," he replied casually. His legs crossed and he was relaxed."Then who is my--""You wouldn't know him. He is married to you mother and they live a bit far from here.""Didn't they look for me?" I asked surprised. I always wanted to meet my parents but now that I'm about to know them, I feel nothing!"I doubt that! They have another child. A boy!" That didn't break my heart at all. I'm serious.."Oh... But you said you loved her!" I said."I still do but she chose your father over m he shrugged. I'm glad she did."You too have many things in common, like--""My hair colour?" I asked and he nodded silently."Why are you being so nice?" I asked after the brief silence and he smiled."How do you expect me to behave?" He asked."I'm just why you are being nice to me. No biggy," I explained and he chuckled."You are just like her, even in your si
*Laura Point Of View*"I will leave you two to catch up," the man said and he left. Great! Cody's eyes flashed to me and I shifted back wards."Laura, I can explain..." He trailed off and huffed. He walked over to the bed and sat down."My father has been watching you since. I think he even planned for you to enter the orphanage. Immediately you did, he sent me there too. He was bent on getting to you. He made me do it and I agreed at first, but, when I got to know you, I regretted" he looked over to me."My father would have found another way to get to you if you didn't come here with..Gabriel," he spat out bitterly."What do you want?" I acted calmly but deep down I was heartbroken."I know that you won't believe me but I mean you no harm. I won't let him harm you," he assured."Thank you but I'm okay. You've done enough," I simply stated and he stood up."Please!!" He pleaded. "I think you should go," I said staring at the g
"What do you want?" I panicked, trying to shift back as he approached the bed. He ignored my question and leaned closer to me."Such a beautiful thing," his hands shot to my hair and I hissed as he dragged it."Please what do you want?" I asked, gulping loudly. He grinned deeply as he shifted back."We may want something but sometimes cannot get it. I am lucky I get what I want," he paced down the room and I just stared at him in confusion."I don't understand," I croaked out and he sighed as he sat on the edge of the bed."How do you know my name!" I manage to shout after the brief silence."I just need you to calm done, Laura," he said."Calm down? How can I calm done when you--, wait you are going to rape me again aren't you?""No honey! I wouldn't dare hurt you. Never ever," he assured but I didn't believe him at all."Then why am I here?" I asked trying not to show my trembling body."I'll told you to stay ca
*Third Person Point Of View*Gabriel rushed back with a slightly faint speed. He wanted to get to Laura quickly before she got a hint of his surprise.Yeah, a surprise! Her birthday was coming up in a week time and he was prepared for it. All the grand gestures were to keep her mind out of it.Slowly, he approached the spot he left her a few minutes ago. The sight before him didn't make sense. He felt like crying.Where is the Laura that I left here? He thought and panic.Looking at the scene he already knew what happened..Her ice cream was scattered on the ground, her phone shattered and a piece of cloth roughly laid on the floor. He sucked in breath and walked closer to the item. Swiftly pulling it up, he froze at the situation. He looked at the item with confusion and anger. Right there was written boldly and clearly, "Your beloved shall never be seen by you again! I'll make sure of that" that was the answer to his question.
A Month Later....☁*Laura Point Of View*"What do you mean by he's caustic?" I asked confused."Codic is bitter and shar-""He's name is Cody and he is not bitter," I protested.Me and Gabriel were presently on a date and he kept asking and telling me about Cody behaviour towards me and him together. He doesn't like Cody and Cody doesn't like him."You sound like you are on his side. You are arguing with your boyfriend just because of him?" He hissed and I rolled my eyes."Oh please! I think I'll have a headache if you don't stop talking," I said and he gave me a pointed look which I ignored."Me and Cody are just friends nothing else," I promised and he sighed as he raked his hair."Okay. I believe you," he smiled and I returned it."Now can we go. This place is a little restricted. I want to stretch my legs," I groaned and buried my head on the table."It's not restricted, you are just not used to it," he s
