I stepped out of the Audi after parking it in the garage. I walked back into the house and headed straight to the fireplace. The bottle of alcohol was seated on the table, waiting to be touched. I picked it up and poured myself a drink. I picked up the glass and walked up to the couch. Solomon and Jocelyn were seated there talking. Maybe they were trying to solve the problem hovering over their relationship. I walked back to the fireplace and sat down.

I held the armchair as I drank from the glass. We had just returned from a hectic day of school. Well, I wouldn't call it hectic because vampires couldn't feel stressed. We were like a nuclear reactor; we couldn't be worn out easily. So sad we couldn't say the same for Jocelyn and Zion.

They grumbled when they entered the car on our way home. It was a boring day at school. Nothing

POLAND, 1303.I zoomed into Christiana's house and looked for her. I wanted to show my brother that she was not to be trusted. She was dangerous and a liability to our family. She didn't deserve to be part of it. She had to be put down quickly. I walked around the house but couldn't find her.I had rushed down here after having sex with a total stranger. This was the second time I was doing such. I wondered what was going over me. My mind was filled with lust. The singer on that occasion, Mrs. Piatek, was good in bed. It looked like she was into me. Too bad I wasn't the type of person that believed in love. She was just a distraction for me.I loved her voice and was mesmerized minimally by her beauty. It was her voice that had attracted me. So we headed home and ha

I sat down on the couch with a glass of alcohol in my hand. Solomon was standing before me, and of course, he wanted to know what had happened. He told me he had heard me grunting on the lawn, and when he arrived, it had been only me there.I sighed and sipped from the glass. I didn't know what to do. I couldn't tell him that a girl he thought was dead fought with him. He would be surprised and even turn angry at me once more. Believe me, and I didn't want that now. I was planning something. Life was moving fast, and I felt it was time to make Hope my wife. If Solomon were angry at me, I wouldn't enjoy the wedding."Talk to me, Desmond," Solomon urged.I clenched my jaws, thinking of what to do. This would probably get out of hand soon enough. I scratched my chin, thin

I got out of the Audi and closed the door behind me. I was back in school after a long while. It had almost been two weeks since I last got to school. A lot had happened. I had fought magic twins and also a friend from the past. The past I thought would never resurrect. I guess the unexpected was always expected.Solomon and I had managed to keep the secret from everyone at home. We had fought Christiana, and I was surprised that Solomon had killed her. I wasn't expecting much. From the way we had started the war, I knew he would fall off because of the love he once had for her. But he was the one that stabbed her with a stake. Christiana was surprised as she died. It gave her a perfect look at her corpse. After we had killed Christiana, I realized something. I realized it was the best way to make your best moments count. So, I went

"Can Katie attend?" Hope asked.I looked at her in surprise. She knew that everybody attending our wedding was supernatural. Katie being there was a liability and was very dangerous. What if we got attacked by an enemy and we had to use our powers? I know there was a possibility of compelling her, but since finding out that there could be a glitch in compulsion when you got stabbed by the dagger of Zoris, I decided to zero my mind from compulsion in the meantime. We were walking through the hallway. We had just left class, and I was going to gym class. Solomon had already left. I had intended to leave with him, but Hope asked if she could walk me to gym class. I was happy until I found out that she wanted me to invite Katie McCullough to our wedding. To be sincere, I couldn't see that happening even in my dreams. It was too risky.

I chuckled and walked up to him. He had some nerve to walk up to my wedding party and make such a statement. I was enraged by that. He was trying to ruin my party, and I wasn't going to let him do such. Today was too good to be wrecked. He smiled as I approached him. Did he want this? He was definitely a distraction."What do you want, Maxwell?" I asked, folding my hands across my chest."I want your head on a platter," he replied.I chuckled slowly. It was then I realized that he wasn't that serious. I thought he would be a very gruesome villain, but from his statement, I had every right to underestimate him. Even people behind us were laughing at him. My head couldn't be chopped off or removed because I was immortal. The only weapon that could kill me had been rendered inv

We walked through the hallway as we headed for class. I was scared that people would find out we were married but still in school. The wedding had been so secluded. The only non-supernaturals attending the party were Mrs. Wallace and her son, Luke, Hope's brother. It would have been dangerous if they had attended. It would be gruesome. My suspicions had come through. I had expected an unexpected event to occur, and it surely did. Maxwell had attacked us, but it didn't end well for him. I was surprised he hadn't returned as soon as we had expected. It had been a week since he had attacked us. He had gone silent and absent. I wouldn't say I liked it when my enemies did that. I hated being suspenseful and thinking about what my next move would be.I was glad that he didn't know anything about Faith. Maybe he knew but never mentioned it.

BOURNEMOUTH, ENGLAND.The pilot told us to buckle our seatbelts because we were about to land. We had finally arrived after many hours on the air. We had been quiet throughout the journey. Hope had slept off, not wanting to talk to me. I was glad she had come because the mood she wasn't in right now was unfavorable for anyone. When I told her we were going to Bournemouth, she didn't look happy. I was confused because I thought the tickets would certainly lift her mood. But apparently, I had been wrong. She rolled her eyes and walked away. I was surprised. I didn't know why she was still angry at that incident. The next day, I had told her if she would be interested in following me to Bournemouth. Surprisingly, she had said yes. I was expecting a no. I woke up and looked around me. I found Hope sleeping on my chest. The room didn't look familiar. This wasn't the way my room looked. Then, it came to me. Hope and I had gone on our honeymoon. We were at a hotel in Bournemouth, and Solomon had booked it for us. Solomon gave me the envelope containing the plane tickets and hotel reservations. I had thought he planned to get back at me for all I had done to him. Not necessarily something deadly, but morbid and uncanny. It was silly. I had let my paranoia get the best of me. Solomon had been trying to be nice to me like he had always been to me. I was surprised and happy. I hugged him to show how much it meant to me. Hugging wasn't my thing, so when I gave him one, he knew how happy I was. I wasn't happy that Faith couldn't come along. Her safety was my priority, and I was saddened that she was returning.

"Father!" Faith screamed. My eyes widened for some moments. I was breathing heavily. I looked at my chest, and I could see the hole in there. It was pathetic how I was dying. After everything that had happened, after everything I had been through, I wasn't going to get the happy ending. I didn't deserve it, to be honest. I was paying for my past sins. Karma had finally caught up with me.I looked up at the sky and noticed it was twilight. I smiled as I admired the beautiful view. It was probably the last thing I was going to see. Who would have known that it would have come to this? I had promised to keep everybody alive and had failed. Jocelyn was dying beside me."Father," Faith said, arriving in front of me.I lo

Solomon shook my hand firmly and smiled at me. I was surprised at this. We were back home, and I was about to pour myself a glass of alcohol. I would need it because we would match down to the woods until we could find Suzana. Today was the day. We had to defeat her, or there was no way we would stand a chance against her once again.I realized why Solomon was shaking me. It was because of the treaty I had made with the werewolves. This treaty had joined the two supernatural species in town together. It was a new beginning for the town. It was sad that Hope and I wouldn't be around to see each other for long. We didn't plan on telling people about it until the battle was over.Hope had gone to her mother's office to tell the police to announce a mandatory lockdown from six tonight till the following day. We didn't want any human bein

I woke up to a high-pitched sound ringing in my ears. I stood up slowly and looked around my surroundings. Everybody was still out. Suzana had blasted us before she left. I turned around and looked for Faith. She was the first person on my mind. I was scared because it seemed like the blast was a distraction from Suzana to pick up Faith and escape. Well, that seemed genuine because I couldn't find Faith on the lawn.Terrified, I zoomed into Hope's body and tapped on it roughly. Hope's eyes opened slowly as they stared at me. She sat up slowly and held her head. She was probably feeling the migraine too. My heart was pounding fast. How was I going to tell her that Faith had been abducted again? And this time, it was under our very noses."What happened?" Hope asked, wincing in pain.

  • Love, Lust and Blood   SUZANA STRIKES AGAIN#120

This was the time I had been waiting for. I couldn't hold it any longer. I had to go out with Hope and Faith. We needed a good time to clear the tension hovering over us. The fear of Suzana attacking us had gripped us so badly that sometimes the house would be quiet. Why? Because everybody was looking for a way we could destroy Suzana, but none was found. It had been frustrating, but we hadn't stopped looking. There was still hope. There had to be, or we would all die when Suzana decided to visit us.I had made a treaty finally with Zack. This was something that Solomon had been trying to do when we had first arrived at Winekove. But I had ended it telling him that the werewolves were supposed to live with us, and there had to be no two ways about it. We were at the top of the food chain at that time, and I had assumed that we were the most powerful creatures on Earth. That had been before Si

I was expecting Suzana anytime from now. Or was I just paranoid? This was the perfect moment to spend time with my family. I could take them out. It was even time I told Hope about my plan. If she said yes, we could leave in the next month or two. Probably after we defeated Suzana.I was growing confident that we could beat her. The tremendous amount of power that Jocelyn and Zion had shown me when they defeated Javicia gave me hope. Maybe we did stand a chance against Suzana? Or was I just being delusional? Suzana even had the power to raise the dead. She had raised my father and had used him against us. It wasn't friendly at all. I was used to it. My weakness had been exploited, and I had fallen for it too quickly.Could I blame myself? I loved my father, and the thought of spending eternity with him certainly intrigued me. Suzana

Everybody was in the living room. I, Hope, Solomon, Florence, Noah, mother, Jocelyn, and Zion. They had finally returned from the coven meeting. As leaders of their coven, I couldn't blame them for being absent throughout all that had happened. We eventually killed Silas again. The only thing remaining to make sure he stayed dead forever was to destroy his heart. I couldn't squash it with my hands, so I thought Jocelyn and Zion could use their magic to destroy it.Ever since they had gotten Raven and Theo's powers, they had leveled up tremendously. They were very powerful. I could even say they were as powerful as Javicia, and I hoped they could somehow match up with Suzana if the need for battle ever arose. Suzana was powerful, and I felt nobody could match up with her powers. We watched Jocelyn and Zion as they stood up from the co

  • Love, Lust and Blood   THE LAST OF SILAS#117

It had been days since Silas had last attacked us, and I wondered what he and Javicia were planning. They knew the mansion's location, so it wasn't safe for Faith. They wanted her. Apparently, Suzana had asked them to fetch her. She was a greedy monster, and she needed to be put down.It wouldn't be easy, but there's always a way. Deep down, I knew that everybody had a weakness. It was just a matter of time before we discovered Susana's flaw. But if Suzana did have a weakness, wasn't it possible that somebody would have found it a long time ago? Suzana had been alive probably since the ice age. If there was a weakness, it should have been found by now.I was seated on the couch, trying to console my mother. Solomon was on the other side of her. Florence wasn't still back, and I wondered where she had gone. Noah was missing too, and I

I couldn't believe my eyes. I certainly was dreaming. How could this happen again? This was the second time it was happening before my eyes. My father was dying before my eyes for the second time. Was I cursed? Why did it always have to be me? Father was going, and there was nothing I could do about it.I stared at his eyes as he looked at me, smiling. He was leaving. I was crying because this time he wasn't coming back. He was going forever. Suzana confirmed my hypothesis. Someone had raised Father from the dead, and she had been the one. She had used her father to manipulate me and have her way. I couldn't believe I had fallen so quickly. Was it my fault? I prefer to think not. She knew my weakness; my father. She had used my father to have her way. I had told my father where I had buried Silas's heart. Suzana had fetched it

  • Love, Lust and Blood   SUZANA#115

I was surprised to see her. How was she still alive? She should have died long ago. Well, that was a silly question because Suzana was immortal. If she could create such beings like us, how did her being alive become an issue? She had been alive for a long time, since when the first werewolves were made. That had been thousands of years ago. She seemed like a god to me. For her to manipulate a curse cast by a god, she deserved the title "god," too.My problem was that she was back in Winekove. What did she want? Because she was indeed looking for me and Solomon. It then hit me. The blast that had taken me out, she had been the one who had made it. No wonder the explosion had been so strong. It also reminded me that Suzana was strong, and we couldn't defeat her.I watched her as she walked up to us. Her black hair and crimson ey
