Athena's POV
Alex narrow his eyes at me as he furrow his eyebrows—even from the look he is giving me—it isn't stopping me from laughing. Looking away from him, I end up tugging at my shirt, ''Athena, this isn't funny! How long do you want to keep it away from me?'' My mom starts speaking again on the other line.
Athena's POV''Checkmate.'' I say and Alex's jaw drops to the ground—making me let out my laughter. He looks back up at me and lightly rub his temples, showing how frustrated he is for losing the game, ''Seriously, you should give up because I've won for like—five times.''
Alexander's POVMy eyes wander to look out at the glass window—seeing the city of Singapore. I can't really focus on the meeting right now, just by hearing him talk somehow bores me. Staying here for a few more days might as well kill me. I've never felt this troublesome before whenever I have business matters to attend.
I walk out from the room to see my mother standing near the wall, scrolling down her phone. She turns to look at me, ''Now, would you care to explain?'' She sighs, deeply, ''What the hell is this? All of these!'' She points at my face. I'm pretty sure she's pointing at my cuts—I can still feel the pain on my upper cheeks. My eyes focus on the ground, staring at it bluntly, ''And you didn't even tell me. I'm worried, Athena!'' She continues but I grab
Athena's POV''What's going on?'' I ask as I rub both of my hands together, producing heat. My eyes wander around to see unknown people walking in—taking all of the furniture out through the front door.
Athena's POVMy fingers shake as I sit uncomfortably in my seat. The coldness of the room suffocates me and even the silence makes me cringe. I look down, trying to calm myself;it's going to be fine.I keep on reminding. Everything will be good like it has always been.
Athena's POV''Wake up, rise and shine, princess!'' I hear Alex shouting loudly into my ear, making me groan in annoyance before pulling the comforter closer toward me.
Athena's POVFood. Two newly-served lamb chops with mash potatoes on the side and a bottle of red wine. One scented candle has been lighted up—vanishing the darkness. I walk closer toward the table, inhaling the scent. As I do, I feel something cold touches my chest area and around my neck; cau
Athena's POVAlex raises an eyebrow as I hide behind him; holding onto his shoulders—keeping my head down. I mutter curses under my breath, what the hell is he doing here? I mean, why now?!My mind feels like it's going to explode and I am not the one to bear the freaking pain.
Athena's POVMy revenge on Joanna. That's a start. Well, I didn't really do much to her; only a few damaging here and there like her career and her reputation as Published director. I have managed to reveal her deepest secret which is by letting everyone know that everything she says in the papers, online or even in those magazines are fake. Yup, fake. So, I technically brought her down just by revealing that little secret. She
Athena's POVI don't even know where I'm heading right now—I don't even know what I'm thinking. My heart continues to hurt; somehow begging me to stop walking and just walk back toward him. But why should I? Shouldn't him?I feel someone pulling my arm and as soon as I turn around, Alex pulls me closer—trying to stop me from walking any further but I act as stubborn as I always have; by pulling my arm away from him.
Athena's POVAlex closes the door behind him slowly as he clench his jaw, looking down at the ground. I keep both of my eyes on him but somehow, I'm afraid of making any eye contact. Afraid if he might raise his voice at me or even push me away—I'm terrified even. Funny, how I longed for him to let go of me months ago but I crave for him. More, actually.
Athena's POVThe sound of silence. What's the beauty of it? Where's the beauty of it? It's soothingly calm; that's for sure but you can never be sure of anything—especially if you can't hear.
Athena's POVI stare at him. Stare as he focuses on his phone; knowing that he might not possibly notice me staring but I was wrong, I have always been wrong. He notices everything.Almosteverything. My lips curve up into a smile when I see him glancing my way.
Athena's POVAlex covers my eyes with his hand; not letting me see through anything. I hold onto one of his fingers, trying to peek but he continues to lead me the way by walking behind me—more like I'm leading the way. Feels like a blind person leading a fully-functional person. ''No peeking, princess.'' He says, making me drop both of my hands to my side, sighing.
Athena's POVI fake a loud laugh as I clutch onto my stomach, trying my best to produce tears from my eyes. My hands shaking in nervousness and my brain corrupting with no ideas coming out,god help me. I thought to myself, ''What kiss? Kiss? Did he say kiss? We were talking about kisses; the chocolate, you know.''
Athena's POVA smile appears on his face as he look back at the view in front of us, ''Do you?'' He says, gently hitting his arm with my shoulder; making me smirk and push him slowly. Then we both end up wat
