Sasha sat in her car in the garage, it’s been three days now since she started taking medicines for flu but she wasn’t getting any better. She feels tired after a little work and she sleeps a lot, just like she wakes up sometimes in the midnight because of a craving for a particular food. She has an inkling of what could be happening to her but she doesn’t want to admit it. It’s not like she doesn’t want to be pregnant but she has a fear it might not be her husband’s. Shaking the thought out of her mind, she climbed down of the car.
She walked out of the garage in time to see Vanessa’s white limo entering the property; she frowned as she wondered why she was there. She remembered then that Chris was still with her so she smiled and waited for the limo to park in front of her.
Vanessa climbed out of the car along with Hannah who was carrying Chris, “hi dear.”
Sasha walked up to her and kissed her cheeks, &ldqu
Sasha smiled and shook her head when she heard his question, “no, I wasn’t.”“But your face look puffy,” Michael insisted and walked up to her, he caressed her face, “what is it?”“Michael really, it’s nothing, I’m okay,” she smiled.Michael shrugged and placed his briefcase on the bed, “Hannah and Chris are making dinner,” he chuckled, “that’s if you will include him.”“Oh please, he is going to cook like his father.”“Now that will be good, don’t you think?” He looked at her before unbuttoning his shirt.Sasha cleared her throat as she wondered on how to phrase her next question, “Michael I have been meaning to ask you,” she paused, waiting to see his reaction.“Go on,” was all Michael said, pulling his shirt out of his arms.“Did…did you really…you know, did
Sasha rushed home immediately after work, she dropped by at Michael’s favorite wineries shop to grab him a bottle of Robert Mondavi, she wanted to gift it to him as an apology for missing lunch with him. Hannah greeted her when she saw her and she kissed her son on the head, asking about his wellbeing before rushing up the stairs to prepare for the dinner. She was putting on her earring when Michael entered, she smiled at him through the mirror, “hi.”Michael stared at her, still standing at the door, he sighed then approach the bed and dropped his briefcase along with the brown envelope. Sasha turned to him when he hadn’t said anything nor replied to her greetings, “it’s everything okay?” She asked as he proceeded to sitting on the bed, “Michael?” He let out a deep breath and looked at her, his eyes weren’t his usual bright blue, it was a little a dark and she knows that color very much. She stood up f
Sasha drove home after work, she sat in her car in the garage. She didn’t want to go in, Michael was still mad at her, that she knows. He had not returned to their room last night and when she woke up this morning, he was already gone. His car was in the garage but he had not left with his car this morning, according to Hannah, Gary picked him up so she doesn’t know if he was back or not. After a few minutes in the car, she got down, shut the door, locked it with the remote and walked to the house. She had been having a sense of loneliness since this evening and she associated it with Michael’s annoyance. She pushed opened the door but unlike the usual times she came home, she didn’t meet Hannah and Chris downstairs and figured they must be upstairs. She stared at the dolphin fountain that hides her husband’s study room, after a few seconds of hesitant, she marched towards it. She placed her hand on the handle and turned it, pushing the do
Hannah looked horrified at the casual way she replied her, “ma’am, we need to do something!”“Don’t worry Hannah, I’m fine,” Sasha replied.“Ma’am you are bleeding, how can you be fine? We need to get you to a hospital. In your condition, you are not supposed to be bleeding, this is bad,” the girl was practically shrieking.Sasha looked at her, “calm down Hannah, I’m fine. It could just be stress, all I need is a bath and I will be fine.”“No ma’am, you wait here, sit down or something, I will try to find a cab. You can’t drive yourself in this condition, nothing must happen to you or sir will kill me,” she dabbed away a few tears from her cheeks before running out of the front door they just came in through.Sasha wanted to call her back but the girl was already gone, something she said brought tear to her eyes again, ‘nothing must happe
Sasha closed her eyes, silent sobs leaving her lips as she lets out deep breath with it. Her mother was the first to touch her hand before Vanessa and the rest of her friends, “it’s not your fault,” Angelica cooed, “you didn’t plan for any of this.”Vanessa nodded, “indeed my dear, like I said, this could happen to anyone. I believe Michael is angry about the child then?”Sasha shook her head, “he doesn’t know about the child yet, he didn’t give me a chance to explain, he didn’t’ allow me to say anything,” she covered her face with her hands and weep, “he doesn’t understand what I am going through, the pains that are weighing on my chest, he doesn’t…”“Shush, it’s alright, everything will sort itself out in the end. Who knows, the baby might end up being his,” Vanessa comforted, “come now, stop crying, you are not the first w
“Come on, you haven’t seen me in nearly a month and instead of jumping into my arms, you are asking what I am doing here?” Craig asked.“To hell with you,” Sasha replied with sarcasm.“Tsk tsk tsk,” He clicked his tongue continuously, “don’t be like that beautiful. You know, I must say I’m surprise that you are back here. What happened, he came back and he kicked you out? So much for loving you for fourteen years,” he chuckled.“Michael didn’t kick me out I left you piss of trash,” she spat out.“Watch your language,” he threatened, “anyway, did he tell you? He won over my company. You know, that husband of yours surprises me every time. He came to my hotel and watched a video of us having sex and all the things I told him, but instead of wallowing in misery like I expected him to, he flew to London, bought more shares of my company and took my seat,&rdqu
Michael entered the bedroom to hear the sound of running water, the bathroom door was opened and so was the glass, he could see Sasha scrubbing her body as if to scrub off tonight’s incident. He stood beside the door watching her, he wanted to go to her and wrap her in his arms, he wanted to kiss her hair and tell her that everything was going to be okay and that she didn’t need to hurt her skin to wipe away anything. He wanted to tell her that no policeman or woman is going to take her to jail while he is alive, he wanted to comfort her and say that he would do anything to protect her, anything to keep her safe. He wanted to say so many things but at the end he walked into the walk-in closet, fetched out his pajamas and left the room.He made his way to the guest’s room, took a shower, changed into his pajamas and walked down the stairs to his study where he poured himself a glass of Robert Mondavi. He sat on his chair and closed his eyes, series of sighs lef
Sasha walked down the stairs the next morning, she could hear Chris babbling and knew he was already up, she made her way to the kitchen where his voice was coming from only to hear a squeal. She looked up at Hannah who was crying and smiling at the same time, “you are back ma’am, at last.”“How are you Hannah?” Sasha asked softly.“I’m fine now ma’am, Chris has missed you.”Sasha smiled and bent to her son who was already reaching out to her, there was a big smile on his face and her eyes watered, she had missed him, oh God she has but she always hold herself anytime she wanted to give in to going home and see him. Vanessa had brought him to her last week, a day before Michael returned, she had said that he was calling out for his mother even though he couldn’t speak clearly. She picked him up and kissed his head, breathing in his scent, the scent that always leave her refreshed, “oh my da
