Miscarriage

I slowly parted my eyelids open. My eyes were dazed by the blinding light, forcing me to shut them up almost immediately. I was more surprised to find myself surrounded by a few people in immaculate white dresses all gazing at me in anticipation. They seemingly had been waiting for me to open my eyes.

“W...Where am I? What am I doing here?” I asked, darting my eyes from person to person.

“Oh she's come around. Great improvement!” A man in a doctor's attire said, with a grin, ignoring my question.

“Go call her husband at the waiting room, perhaps he might want to see her,” he directed his gaze at one of the nurses that stood closeby.

“Alright doctor,” the slender lady replied and left.

“Don't worry, you'll get to know later,” the doctor said, lips curled into a reassuring smile.

Turning to the second nurse that stood by, he said,

“Go get her the drugs now!”

She quickly did as she was bidded. He left afterwards.
