*Trigger Warning*
Two days later, BLAIR He stared at me with a slight frown on his face. The fact that he wouldn't look away was beginning to piss me off. Seeing him so close started to bring up several memories in my mind. Memories of our first dates, memories of our first kisses, memories of our engagements....I lowered my gaze, my heart thumping harder than usual.I couldn't believe I was doing this. But, what other options did I have?I desperately needed to get away from him but he wouldn't budge. When he finally met my gaze, my mouth went dry and I had a strong urge to cry. More memories were filling my mind and I started to feel things I shouldn't be feeling. I started to notice how extremely gorgeous he was. I started to notice the mole beneath his right eye and the ones on his neck. Frustrated, I gritted my teeth and said, "Are you just going to stare at me all day, Mr Kane?"He slowly stepped aside and I walked in, carefully taking in the appearance of the large sitting room. Everything in it screamed royalty and wealth. A young woman with brown hair and blue eyes walked into the sitting room and gave me a smile. "Lisa, this is Bella-""Blair not Bella" I scoffed and a smirk appeared on his face. "I know but I really don't care, Bella" he said and I bit my lower lip to prevent myself from lashing out at him. The nerve of this man!"Anyway, she is my new P.A. Show her to her room, Lisa" He said to the maid.Lisa nodded politely and he walked away, leaving me to glare at his retreating figure.Lisa led me all the way to the second floor, then she stopped in front of a white door and pushed it open."This is your room, Miss Blair"At least for once, someone in this house got my name right."Thank you" I said, giving her a big smile. She nodded her head and left. Letting out a sigh, I dragged my luggage into the room. It was indeed spacious and well furnished.Feeling exhausted all of a sudden, I laid down on the queen sized bed. Tears filled my eyes when I recalled what had happened earlier today. Aunt Maggie and I had been watching a TV show in the sitting room when we had suddenly heard a loud explosion coming from the kitchen. Aunt Maggie had gone to the kitchen to check what it was and I'd heard her scream in pain. By the time, I had made it to the kitchen, she was struggling to walk and the whole kitchen was on fire. Scared, I'd tried to help her out of the kitchen only for her to yell at me to go grab my stuff and call 911. I'd managed to get my luggage outside as well as Aunt Maggie. But, as soon as we'd stepped out of the house, the whole house had been consumed by flames. I've never felt so terrified. On the way to the hospital, my aunt had given me Mikael's address and had made me promise her that I would go to him. I could easily have stayed in a hotel but, I decided to do as my aunt had said even though I was probably risking my life. Yeah, that's right, I was being a total idiot and sometimes, I think that the curse had affected my thinking too. It was probably why I couldn't really avoid Mikael. Maybe, I was just a sheep ready for slaughter.I closed my eyes and soon fell asleep due to how exhausted I was. But then, hours later, I was awoken by the knock on the door. I let out a groan and sat up before taking off my jacket. I loosened my ponytail and allowed my hair to drape over my shoulders. The knock on the door persisted. So, I stood up and sauntered across the room to open the door. Lisa gave me a polite bow. "Master told me to ask you to join him at the dinning table. Dinner's about to be served, miss Blair" she said and I sighed."Fine. And where exactly is this dinning room?" I asked and Lisa smiled."I'll take you there" she said and my stomach growled in response.I stepped out of the room and followed her all the way to the dinning room. Apparently, Mikael's house wasn't a joke. You could easily get lost in it.True to Lisa's words, Mikael was already sitting in the dinning room. He had changed into something more comfy- grey sweats and a white t-shirt. He still looked undeniably attractive though and I felt both irritated and wary about it."Are you going to stare at me all day?" He asked and I slowly lowered myself onto one of the expensive looking chairs. My stomach growled again and I felt heat creep up my neck from embarassment. The table held different types of delicacies that looked amazing, it was hard not to drool. Mikael snorted and began to dig into his meal, apparently he'd heard my stomach growl. Now that was embarrassing."I'm sorry about your aunt" he suddenly commented and I forced out a smile."Thanks"We remained silent for a while. Then, I decided to say something."The food is great" I said and he stared at me for a while before nodding."The cooks do what they do to keep their jobs" he responded and I frowned.I watched him quietly, noticing the expression on his face. He barely smiled and he always looked either blank or angry. Most times it was hard to figure out what he was thinking or feeling. He looked up and his gaze met mine. Then, he raised his brow."Is there something on my face?" He asked and I lowered my gaze."Maybe"He inhaled sharply and I stiffened."How did you get the scar?" I asked and he froze."What?""The scar on your face" I asked and he abruptly stood up and stormed out of the dinning room.I leaned back on my seat, feeling bad for mentioning something that might've been a sensitive topic, at least to him. I sighed and rose to my feet, unable to stomach any more food. He was my boss, the man whose fate was tied to mine and I felt awkward.I left the dining room in search of the room I'd been staying in. Unsure of the directions, I walked towards one of the white doors which looked similar to the door of the guest room I'd been using. The door was half open, so I pushed the door in and walked in. The room was huge and was definitely not the guest room. It was clearly a master bedroom. The bed was king sized with dark blue sheets adorning it. The doors of the closet was gold and white and the floor was a black and white checkered marble. The curtains were indigo colored and there was a large flat screen TV plastered to the wall. The room was incredibly neat, so I snorted. Mikael seemed to be a neat freak. I sighed and turned away from the center of the room. I needed to get out of his room. But, just as I made to leave, his voice stopped me."What are you doing here?"I froze and slowly turned to look at him. His eyes were unreadable and he was leaning against the wall, his gaze boring holes into my body. "Your house is large enough to be a vampire's castle" I said and amusement crossed his features for a split second. "Vampire castle?"I sighed and clenched my fist. "I got lost" I admitted and he rolled his eyes."I wonder how you got lost and found yourself in my bedroom" he stated and I narrowed my eyes."My apologies, your majesty" I spat and he sighed."Come on, follow me" he said and I moved after him as he made his way out of his room. I couldn't help but notice his leanly muscled build and the way his hair seemed so dark it was almost blue. Memories of me caressing his hair flashed in my mind and I shut my eyes briefly. "I'm sorry for asking you about your scar. I was being insensitive" I said and he turned to look at me with his eyes holding an unfathomable expression. He led me to the guest room and walked away, leaving me to stare at his retreating figure..... MIKAEL I stare at my reflection in the mirror, lifeless grey eyes staring back at me through the mirror. Then my gaze rests on the steak knife in my grip. Exhaling slowly, I unbutton my black shirt. There's really no need for me to live. Perhaps if I killed myself, I would stop hurting. I can't bear it. Not anymore. Raina had promised to find a way out of the curse but I know now that it's never going to happen. I'm sick and tired of being weak. I run my fingers through my black hair and grip the steak knife tighter. Slowly, I position the tip of the knife against the inside of my wrist. Then, I drag it across my skin without paying attention to the pain that follows. Blood dribbles down my pale skin. But then, I make four more vertical cuts down my arm. Then, I move to my other arm and do the same. Ignoring the pain, I stab myself in the stomach knowing it would soon be over.I start to feel light-headed, so I strip to my underwear and step into the bathtub. Water laps around the corners of the bath tub when I do this. I close my eyes, my strength quickly going down drain. The water in the tub turns a bright shade of red and black dots begin to cloud my vision as my body becomes heavier. I close my eyes, feeling the lack of oxygen finally getting to me. A slow smile curves my lips and just as I'm about to give up, the bathroom screen doors slide open and Raina runs in screaming my name."Drew! Oh God! Don't close your eyes, please!" She cries and I give her a small smile."I-I love you" I choke out and she sobs harder."Drew! Please-"My eyes slip close and I sink into a spiralling darkness....Gasping for air, I sat up in bed with sweat sliding down my temples, my heart beating ten thousand times per second."What the hell was that?" I breathe, eyes wide.MIKAEL Cold water came in contact with my skin as soon as I stepped under the shower. The remnants of the dream I'd had few minutes ago lingered in my mind, bringing several thoughts with it. I was trapped in a web of confusion. Maybe it was because I didn't know why I was dreaming about my look alike who had committed suicide. Maybe it was because the young lady I'd seen in my dream looked so much like my guest, Miss Kennedy. But why? This was the second time I was having a dream about our look alikes. The question remains why? I couldn't refer this to something pertaining to the supernatural, even though I was a werewolf, but this felt too strange. The dreams had felt real and even now, I could still feel the pain in my wrists and stomach. There was something awfully disturbing about all of this and it was driving me nuts. By the time, I was done with showering, I towel dried myself and got dressed. Unable to get back to sleep, I went to my study and sat down there. I decid
---------------------------------------My heart is telling lies,if it keeps this on, I'll go crazy.---------------------------------------BLAIR How could I have been so clumsy? I'm so stupid! Gah! This is so embarrassing! I had fallen to the ground and what's worse is that I'd brought him down with me. Way to go, Blair.Way to go.I scowled at my reflection in the mirror with my hair brush hanging mid air. Yesterday was a disaster. One I hope wouldn't happen again. Last night, I'd dreamed ridiculous dreams in which I'd kissed Mikael and the whole world had exploded. Today at the office, Mikael had been even more strict and he was colder than usual. Maybe it's as a result of the stupid stunt I'd thrown the previous day. If I could take it back, I would. I heaved a sigh and pulled back my hair into a neat ponytail. My phone rang and I picked the call."Blair?" Mum said and I smiled. "Hey, mum" I responded and I heard a bit of shuffling from the other side."How are y
BLAIR I tried desperately not to overthink Mikael's words but I failed miserably. What on Earth did he mean by 'You saw something too, didn't you?'.Did it mean that he had seen what I'd seen at that moment? If that was the case, I was very worried. It meant that Mikael was slowly regaining his past memories and soon, he was going to find out the truth. The question was, what do we do then? How would he react? When I returned from work later that day, Mikael and I ate dinner together. None of us had the courage to talk about what had happened at the office and I was prepared to leave it at that, until Mikael decided to start up a conversation I was in no way, prepared for. "Blair" he began and my head jerked up. It was the first time he was speaking to me informally. It was also the first time he wasn't calling me a different name. "Yes?" I responded and looked up from my food, tensing up when I met his electric gaze. Tonight, he didn't look angry or blank as always. He
MIKAEL Blair seemed to be avoiding me all day because, when I awoke from my slumber, I couldn't find her anywhere. I was feeling much better, but I was curious about the little story she'd told me earlier. I had a strange feeling about it and I couldn't help but be curious about it. I had a feeling that there was something she didn't want me to know. I had a feeling that she knew the answers and I was determined to know the truth by all means. When I got to her room, I knocked on the door. After a moment, the door creaked open. I walked in, my gaze meeting Blair's sad gaze. She had packed her bag already and she looked like she was about to leave.I shouldn't stop her, right? But, I just couldn't let her leave just like that. I really wanted her to stay, but I didn't know why."You're leaving?" I asked and she nodded, avoiding my eyes. "Did I do something wrong?" I asked and she shook her head, her eyes welling up with tears."Blair, what's wrong? Whatever it is.... I'm sure
MIKAEL The horror that filled Blair's hazel eyes didn't go unnoticed by me when I asked her who Altan was. I was desperate for answers, but the look on her face made me feel guilty. She looked so scared and heartbroken. Still, it didn't make any sense. Earlier, while I had fallen asleep in my study, I had dreamt another strange dream. Like always, I'd dreamt about my look-alike. This time, his name had been Altan. I didn't understand why there was this sudden aggressive desperation to know the truth. I was struggling to keep calm, but I also knew I was failing miserably."Won't you give me an answer?" I asked, my gaze unwavering. She swallowed hard, refusing to make direct eye contact with me. "W-what? I don't know what you're talking about" she responded. "I don't think so" I countered. She stiffened."I told you... I don't know what you're talking about. I don't know who Altan is. I haven't heard the name before" There was something about the way she was desperately trying to
I wonder if your milky white skin still feels the same.I wonder if your soft pink lips still taste like strawberries. I miss you and it's getting hard to stay away from you. ---------------------------------------BLAIR. " Altan" I breathed, my eyes filling up with hot tears. As I gazed into the depth of his indigo eyes, my heart ached in my chest. Shakily, I brought my hand to the side of his face. "How-" I breathed, a frown creasing my brows. It felt strange that he had suddenly changed from being Mikael to the Altan I'd first fallen in love with. It wasn't supposed to happen so quickly. We were supposed to gradually fall in love with each other. If everything had been brought to a faster pace, it meant we barely had any time. In order to confirm this, I rolled up the sleeve of my T-shirt, grief welling up inside of me when I saw that the rose had bloomed on my skin. It had not turned blue yet. But, I couldn't help but worry. "Al
You don't always have to be strong all by yourself.Let me be your anchor.---------------------------------------BLAIR I had been watching Mikael for the past few days. He seemed a little lost, what with his life transforming overnight. He had hidden the change in the color of his eyes by putting on contacts. But, there was no way he could explain how the scar on his face had miraculously vanished, leaving behind no sign that it had once been there. All the same, he was more of a mix of the Altan I'd first known and the 21st century Mikael Kane. He seemed to be unable to take his eyes off me and he would smile at me each time our gazes locked. The rest of the employees found it odd, but they didn't have the courage to point it out. Mikael would steal kisses from me, making my heart flutter even when I tried not to let it. Two days ago, he asked me out on a date and I agreed to go out with him. We ate together in an expensive, new restaurant and we talked about random things. N
BLAIR Shocked couldn't completely define the look on Mikael's face when I told him that he had summoned me himself. He couldn't remember it yet, but he used to be able to control the weather, way back when he still used to be Altan in the underworld. So, summoning me shouldn't be much of a surprise. "I summoned you? That's not possible" I smiled, entwining my fingers with his. "Mikael you used to have the ability to control the weather in the underworld. Why can't you believe that you actually summoned me?" I said and he silently stared at me for a moment. "It's because I don't remember ever having the ability to summon people. I had the ability to control the weather and create mental or physical shields. But, that's it"I frowned, reaching up to cup his face. "Look at me, Mikael. There's no cause for alarm. Your powers are simply growing" I told him and his brows creased up. "Simply growing? Why now? Why didn't these additional powers show up before now? What if I lose
BLAIR I miss him. I really do. I think of him everyday. I see him everywhere. I hear his voice. I know it's all my imagination, but I don't want to let go of these fragments of my imaginations. They are probably the only thing keeping me sane. Our daughter, Althea has been growing up so fast. She's also really smart. She rarely asks about her father after the day she found me crying in the bedroom with Mikael's photo in my hands. She has his grey eyes and my red hair. Infact, she looks a lot like her father. But, she's just as feisty as me. My little girl doesn't say it, but I know she wants to have a dad, just like the rest of her classmates. Tomorrow is her birthday. Her eight birthday. Yes, it has been eight years since her father died and every time I think of Althea's birth, I'm reminded of the death of her father, the love of my life. I'm a working class woman as I've always wanted to be. Mikael had left his company under my name. I'd taken his position as CEO of Kane's
BLAIR Mikael was awake when I got to the car. He gazed at me with a look that said that he knew that the appointed time had finally arrived. I pressed a kiss to his forehead and lips. "See? I told you we would make it to midnight," I said and he embraced me. I held on to him, not wanting to let go just yet. "It's okay, Blair. My time has come, you know that," he whispered in my ear. I let out a shaky breath and slowly pulled away. Mikael cupped the side of my face and kissed me, a single tear rolling down his right cheek. "I love you," he said, his voice shaky. "I love you too," I rasped and he gave me a pained smile. I wiped his tears with my fingers. "Don't cry or I will have to start crying. It won't be nice," I told him. He placed a trembling hand on my stomach, his gaze locked with mine. "Take care of her, okay?" He croaked and I nodded."I will."He closed his eyes and let out a sharp exhale. He took out a butterfly charm bracelet and helped me slip it on. "It is a sy
BLAIR I remained awake until it clocked 12:00am. It was officially Mikael's twenty fourth birthday. Aria and I had prepared a cake and decorated Mikael's room a little bit. While we did so, Enzo remained by Mikael's bedside, watching over him.I switched off the lights and went to lie down beside Mikael. He wasn't wearing a shirt and his skin was warmer than usual. I pressed butterfly kisses down his spine until he stirred. I buried my face in the crook of his neck and pressed another kiss to his skin."Happy birthday, love" I whispered and he chuckled weakly. Aria switched on the lights and Mikael took in the sight of the 'Happy Twenty Fourth Birthday' banner, the smile on his face, growing."Happy birthday, Kael" Lorenzo and Aria stated with a smile on their faces. "Gosh, you're old. You know you're over five centuries old, right?" Enzo teased and Mikael snorted inamusement. "Here comes the cake," Aria said in a singsong voice. She was carrying the cake we'd both baked sev
LORENZO Watching Aria sleep had become more of a hobby, knowing that soon I would no longer be by her side in a matter of time. It's been two days since I visited Mikael's home. Two days since Blair told me about Moira's appearance to her. Two days since I accepted my fate. Aria was yet to know about the fact that I was going to die pretty soon. She'd probably noticed that something was bothering me, but she hadn't talked about it, yet. I exhaled slowly, running my fingers through my hair. I was certainly not afraid of dying. But, I was worried about Aria. I knew she didn't want to loose me. If she knew that I was going to die, it would tear her apart. I didn't want to make her cry, but I had to let her know the truth. I needed to prepare her for her future without me. I brushed her hair away from her face, my gaze resting on her serene features. She was beautiful. There was no doubt about that. She was also my first and last love. She made me have a purpose and I was really g
BLAIR Two days after Enzo's visit, I was feeling worse. My headaches had worsened and my nausea became really frustrating. It was at that point that I knew that something was up. Mikael had fallen asleep in the bedroom, not too long ago.He was doing a lot of sleeping as of recent. I went into the bathroom. Then, I took off my shirt and stood in front of the mirror. I seemed to have put on a little weight. I knew what this could mean, but I needed to know for sure if it was what I was thinking. My hands were glowing a bright purple as I channeled my magic into the palm of my hands. Taking a deep breath, I placed my hand on my stomach and closed my eyes. I could feel a different energy within me. Tears filled my eyes and when I opened them, my gaze fell on the mirror. The mirror was reflecting the yellowish waves of energy radiating from my stomach. I slowly sank to my knees, tears rolling down my cheeks in floods. I had mixed feelings about my condition. I was carrying Mikael'
BLAIR My eyelids were heavy with exhaustion but I couldn't sleep. I was also painfully well aware of the digits displayed on the digital clock on the nightstand. I had a pounding headache and I was feeling a little nauseous.Mikael was lying on the bed, asleep and his breathing was strained. I couldn't do anything but watch over him, afraid that if I closed my eyes for a second, I would lose him to the cold hands of death. "All you have to do is accept your cruel reality before Hera takes advantage of your hesitation" a small voice at the back of my mind said. My gaze rested on Mikael's pale face and I stroked the side of his face with shaky fingers. He looked so tired and drained. He used to be so full of life. I recalled how we'd met in this lifetime, the way he'd acted so coldly, the way he called me a different name, the times he called me Scaredy-cat. I thought about everything Moira had said to me and I wondered if I could really do it. I wondered if I could ever gain th
MIKAEL The air was freezing cold and I had no idea where I was. I was in a dark room with no window or door. I took a step forward. Then, I took another. A door suddenly appeared in front of me, bright light illuminating the room that was once so dark. I took a deep breath and made my way towards the exit of the room. Once I stepped out of the room, I was surprised to find myself in the middle of Hera's courtyard. Hera was speaking to two other women I could recognize. Cordelia, the goddess of water and Nyx, the goddess of the night. The three women were sitting under the tree of discord. "There's something I discovered today" Hera began and the other two women raised their brows."What is it? Did you perhaps find out who the new guard really is?" Nyx asked. "Of course, I did. I discovered that his mother had given him a different name apart from the one given to him by the Fates" Hera said and my frown deepened. I had no clue about what she was talking about. "Why wou
BLAIR My gaze rested on Mikael who was lying right beside me, my head on his bare chest. I blinked and raised my head to look around the room. I'd been asleep few seconds ago. I could've sworn someone had called my name. Mikael was still asleep and there was clearly no one in the room. But, I wasn't convinced that what I'd heard was a mere fragment of my imagination.I placed my hand on Mikael's forehead and heaved a sigh of relief at the absence of a fever. I sat up slowly, gently tucking the blankets around Kael. I got out of bed with no clothes on. Letting out a sharp exhale, I grabbed a night robe and slipped it on. 'Athena' I froze and turned to look at the double doors leading to the terrace. I moved towards them and opened the door. Cold breeze ruffled my hair, goose bumps appearing on my skin. Once I stepped out into the terrace, I was startled by the sight of the glowing figure standing at the far end of the terrace, her back to me.Her hair was a mixture of black and
BLAIR Sunlight seeped through the window and cast it's glow in Mikael's room. We were lying on the bed. Kael was asleep and I was wide awake. I hadn't slept a wink throughout the night. He'd been so sick, I'd feared that last night was when I would loose him again. I watched him breathe, relieved that he'd made it through the night and was still very much alive. He coughed into his fist and cracked an eye open. I gave him a smile as I picked up a small towel and wiped his bloodied hand. He finally opened his eyes and looked around the room. His gaze finally met mine and an endearing smile curved my lips. "Yes, you're still alive" I rasped and he closed his eyes briefly. He looked so relieved. I held his hand and pressed a kiss to his knuckles. After Mikael had freshened up, I changed the sheets and he laid down on the bed with me beside him."How are you feeling?" I asked and he chuckled softly. "Like I've been hit by a truck?" He rasped. I rolled up the sleeve of his hoodie.
