120: Provocation

Walking out of the kitchen, Lizzie saw Bruno sitting still, yet to touch his food. "What's the matter, don't you like the food?" she asked.

"What is this you've cooked? The eggs are overcooked, the ham is undercooked, and the lettuce ain't fresh," Bruno complained as he poked at his plate.

"I didn't know what you wanted!" Lizzie stood by, watching him nitpick at her carefully prepared breakfast.

"Make it again!" Bruno dropped his fork, leaning back in his chair and fixed his sharp gaze on her.

"Sorry, no more eggs and no fresh lettuce. If you don't like salty, try some jam," Lizzie responded, knowing he was intentionally being difficult.

She knew her eggs were perfectly soft-boiled, the lettuce was crisp, and the ham was well-cooked. She had worked in a restaurant before and had learned some skills, but she was always too busy to usually cook herself. It seemed no matter how well she cooked, he would find something to complain about.

"I want coffee," Bruno glared at her.
