XANDER’S POV

I stood in front of the mirror, staring at myself. My dark hair was neatly combed, and my suit was perfectly tailored.

Today was the day. Today, I was getting engaged to Sasha. I took a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves. This was the right thing to do. I repeated those words in my head over and over again.

“It’s what’s best for both of us.” I adjusted my tie and tried to smile. The reflection smiled back, but it didn’t reach my eyes. I knew that marrying Sasha made sense.

Our families were both powerful, and this engagement would unite two of the biggest business conglomerates in the country. It was a union that everyone had been waiting for, especially my mother and also Sasha has been my girlfriend for so long.

Speaking of my mother, I heard her voice outside the door. She knocked softly before entering.

“Xander, are you ready?” she asked, her face lighting up with a smile as she walked in.

“Yes, Mom. Just a bit nervous, I guess,” I admitted, turning to face her.
