FLORAL'S POV

I picked up the phone the moment it rang, my fingers trembling slightly as I held it to my ear.

The voice on the other end was called and straight to business, which was why I was feeling a bit worried at the moment. I had to weigh my words carefully. I was going to be in trouble. I had to make her feel like I was making great progress even though I had only made small progress.

They needed to know that I was trying my best and that things would soon start to come together slowly. There were no pleasantries and no small talk as she asked.

"Floral, what’s the status?" I took a deep breath, calming the excitement and anxiety bubbling in my chest. I was happy that I had gotten this far but at the same time, I was worried about what their reaction was going to be. I hoped she would understand me.

"Everything’s going according to plan." I whispered into the phone. "He has no idea. Everything is perfect on my end."
