  Louisa's POV

"OK, I like boys and there's nothing to be ashamed about," Colt said and flung his arms open.

  "Oh, no!!!"

  I heard Ms. Salamander wail.

Mr. Salamander said, "Come on, sis. You're a salamander. If he wasn't gay, he would still be way out of your league."

"I will never ever fall in love with anyone again in my life!" Ms. Salamander said.

"What happened? Why are the salamanders hissing like that?" Colt asked.

"Nothing. They're just goofing around." I said and passed him the bowl of porridge and said, "Were you close to Jack?"

He sipped the porridge and nodded.

I saw tears in his eyes.

"He was very kind to me. All the other people in the village hate me, but Jack would stick up for me all the time. He wasn't gay, but he encouraged me to be who I am. We enjoyed each other's company. We practically built this small cottage together. Now that he's dead, I don't know what I'm supposed to do. Maybe I should l

Louisa's POV "You're a werewolf, aren't you?" I asked Colt as we were walking in the forest. "Yeah, but I didn't tell anyone in the village about it. Mountainside is a very conservative place. The villagers have already been put through a really hard time to finally accept the fact that a queer is living in their neighborhood. I don't want to push their limit by telling them I'm that type of queer who can shift into a giant beast and growl at night." "Did you use to live in a tribe?" I asked. "Yeah. It was a long time ago. I was kicked out of my tribe for obvious reasons." Colt lowered his head and said, "My tribe didn't need me, no matter how skillful I am and how hard I worked. I begged them for me to stay, but they just wouldn't listen. There're other ways for a wolf to make a contribution to the tribe other than reproduction. Human beings understand this, but somehow wolves don't." "I'm so sorry to hear that," I said. Darren was walking in front of us, but I knew he

Louisa's POV Colt smiled and said, "Don't worry, Mrs. Flynn. I guess there are some strings inside the bird that needs to be fine-tuned. I'll take a look at it for you in the future." Mrs. Flynn gently nodded her head and said, "OK. Do you want to stay here for lunch? I can cook some meat pies for you." Colt walked the old lady into her yard and said, "You're very kind, Mrs. Flynn. I've just had a big breakfast. I have to go to the village and run some errands." "OK. But please come back for some meat pies later," Mrs. Flynn insisted. "I will. I will," Colt waved at her and walked out of the yard. "What was that? You've made that intimidating iron bird for the old lady?" I asked. "I sure did," Colt smiled proudly and rubbed his nose. "But isn't that a bit dangerous...?" I frowned. Colt curled up his lips and said, "Well, talking about real danger, you should see the way her nephews asked for the lease of her house." I tightened my lips. "Do they want this old l

Louisa's POV Having spent an hour in Colt's studio, I became overwhelmed by the large volume of his innovative ideas and his great craftsmanship. Colt's really a man of extraordinary talents. He was able to bring basically everything in his mind to life through the dexterity of his hands. At the same time, I had to admit that I didn't see any of them could be put to use in real life, though. I wasn't sure if people would buy a pair of scissors that couldn't cut anything or a pair of roller skates that couldn't roll. I knew they could sing beautifully to you when you're alone and help you clean the floor faster than ever, but still... The only thing I was sure of was Darren looked much more comfortable when he was around Colt. I could even see sparks of amusement in his eyes when Colt was showing off his designs in front of him. That was definitely a good sign. Anyway, the enthusiasm in Colt's eyes made me wonder if I was being too s

Louisa's POV As we were walking out of the village, a giant girl walked towards us and blocked our way. "Colt, where are you going? You've promised to help me fix the chimney in our house today," she said. "Sorry, Ms. Dumbarton. My friend's sick and I'll have to take her to the doctor." Colt pointed to me and said. I hid my face behind Darren's neck. I had to pretend to be sick. The giant girl folded her arms and said, "The doctor? We've got a doctor here in our village." Colt explained patiently, "Ms. Dumbarton, we don't have a doctor in our village. All we've got is a vet. Vets aren't supposed to treat people." The giant girl thought for a while. I could literally see her brain running at full speed for a while before it jammed. "OK... So, when are you coming back? We can't cook with a blocked chimney," she said. Colt said with a sparkling smile, "Why don't you move the stove in the yard and cook in the open air?"

Louisa's POV After the rain stopped, we quickly got back to the cottage. Darren set up a fire to dry my clothes. Colt just couldn't wait to start working on the shed. Darren stopped him and said, "We just need a simple shed. Four walls. A roof. That's it. No watch tower. No observatory. No fancy underground maze or hanging garden. Are we clear?" Colt rolled his eyes and said, "You're so boring, Darren. You go on working on your ordinary shed, I'll help Lisa to fix the watermill." Then, he spread his tools on the ground and started to wipe them carefully, one after another. "Do you need my help?" I asked Darren. Darren wiped the water from my face and said, "Please go into the room and take a nap, Lisa. I'll brew you some tea, so you don't get cold." I stood in front of him and didn't want to go away. He looked at me and asked, "What's wrong?" "Can you... give me a twirl?" I was a bit embarrassed. D

  • Louisa Unchained   Chapter 65

Lucas' POV What the fuck?! I felt pierced in my chest as if something was ripping my heart out. The slut underneath my body moaned and screamed because I almost crushed her ribs. I flipped off her body and sat at the edge of my bed. What the fuck is this? Cardiac arrest or something? What the fuck is wrong with me?! "Lucian!" I shouted before falling to the ground. The door was pushed open and Lucian rushed in. Seeing me rolling on the floor, he kneeled beside me and asked, "What happened?" "Beta Lucian, I'm so sorry! I swear I didn't do anything! I was just serving Alpha and..." The prostitute cried out with fear in bed. "Shut up. Don't make another sound." Lucian said in a cold voice and supported my head with his hands. Another wave of shooting pain struck my chest. This time was ten times worse than before. Fuck! My body started to twitch. I had never experienced thi

  • Louisa Unchained   Chapter 66

Louisa's POV When I opened my eyes, I saw Darren's face in my blurry sight. "What happened..." As I spoke, blood started to pop out of my mouth. I choked on my blood and started to cough and I felt the rupture pain coming from my lungs. I lowered my head and saw the remaining of that giant hog's broken tusk lodged in my chest. And there was blood everywhere. I panicked. No... No... Am I going to die?! "Lisa, don't look down. Look at me." I heard Darren's voice. I lifted my head and saw him holding me in his arms. "Lisa, listen to me. You're very strong and brave. You've killed that hog with your dagger. You've stuck it right between its ears and it's dead now," he said. I couldn't see his face clearly, but I could feel his tears dropping on my face. He must be terrified now. I tried to calm down, but the pain coming from my chest was very distracting. "Darren... I can't... breathe..."

  • Louisa Unchained   Chapter 67

Lucas' POV "No! Darren! No!" I screamed out. Darren was completely consumed by fire while rolling on the ground. The fire got stronger because it was fueled by the fallen leaves and twigs on the ground. Desperate, I looked around and tried to look for something to put out the fire. I saw a puddle of water on the side, so I ran towards Darren and grabbed his arms. My hand was burnt and charred, but I clenched my teeth and didn't let go. I dragged him into the puddle of water, but to my surprise, the flame was still there. Then I noticed. The color of the flame was blue instead of orange and red. Even though the flame was fierce and he was obviously in tremendous pain, Darren's face, clothes, and hair were still intact. "Darren, what happened to you?!" I shouted. "Go... away..." he whispered. Blood kept coming out of his mouth and eyes. Veins popping on his forehead. It seemed that he was about to explode a

Lucas' POV "Fucking Kings and Queens! A bunch of mother fuckers and losers!" I shouted. Derek looked intimidated and turned his head towards Lucian. "Don't you fucking look at him! Nobody can fucking save you today!" I kicked him. "I should have killed you long ago! You're a fucking cancer!" He rolled on the ground for a couple of laps and coughed out some sticky muddy fluid from his mouth. "Master... I'm already dead... For a dead man, there's nothing on earth that matters... But my brother... He served you... I forced him to do a lot of bad things, but he was innocent... Please spare his life..." Derek said. "You have no right to negotiate anything with me! I'm going to let you witness I torture your brother to death!" I said angrily and grabbed his neck. "Now, break this fucking ice shield and give my fucking woman back to me. Give her back!" Then, I heard a faint voice. "Leave... my brother... alone..." It's Darren

Louisa's POV "What?!" I couldn't believe what I had heard. Pregnant? I'm pregnant with Lucas' child?! But, I have to tell Darren that I... Then, I heard a wave of hysterical laughter coming from Derek. "The prophet's true! The advent child! The Dark King rises! He who has Lycan, witch, and vampire's blood will marry his mother and be the tyrannic ruler in the Kingdom!" Every single word was like a knife, stabbing my heart. Was it a vicious curse? Or just some disturbing nonsense coming from a madman? Then, before I realized it, my ankle was grabbed fast by Derek. I tried to move back, but I couldn't. Frost started to spread all the way up from my feet at a fast rate. I didn't know what happened before my whole legs were sealed in frigid ice. "No! Stop it!" I saw Vincent and Will trying to pull Derek away from me. But they ended up pulling the remaining of his legs off his body. More sparkling ice w

Louisa's POV Vincent looked at me and didn't say anything. The look on his face was almost lamenting. "Vincent, where is Darren?" I frowned and asked. "He's inside," Vincent said. "But he's in a very bad condition. Miss Louisa, I have to brief you before letting you see him. You have to be prepared. The werewolves at the slave market tortured and humiliated him. His skin was badly burnt. His face was deformed. His head had concussions. He is completely shut down right now. He refuses to communicate with anyone and it seems that he has developed a certain mechanism to protect himself." Vincent took a pause and said, "It seems that he has lost his memory, Louisa. I doubt he will recognize you." "No... No!!!" I felt like I was struck by a bat or something. My vision was black and I fell to the ground. Vincent caught me and held me in his arms. The world was spinning in front of me. Something bitter was stuck in my throat. I curled up a

Lucas' POV "Lucian, I really should have told you about this... I really should have told you about it long ago. But I get this kind of feeling... you know, if I don't talk about it, then it means this whole thing has never happened... And Derek has never betrayed me." I said in a low voice. Lucian was silent. "Anyway," I said. "it wasn't very long until the Red Queen found out that Derek was just lying to get back to the Underground City. So the Red Queen was furious and wanted to kill him. You remember the time that I was summoned to King's Land. I was actually forced to go there to cast an imprint on Derek. I did it and I tortured him. But it was just for the Red Queen to know that I was her loyal subject. Then, I faked his death by sending a corpse back to his uncle. I was planning to hide him somewhere, but those fucking traveling druids took him away. I was enraged, so I took his brother Darren away from the brothel to replace him. I thought one da

  • Louisa Unchained   Chapter 258

Lucas' POV "How many secrets have you been hiding from me these years?" Lucian stared at me and asked. "I'm sorry, brother. But my woman is missing. And she might be pregnant with my child. Can we just focus on looking for her?!" I said. Lucian didn't say anything, he took the tuna head and got on horseback. Then, he rode off without saying anything. Oh, fuck. Now Lucian's not talking to me. Like I haven't got enough on my plate. "I have a good suggestion for you." I heard Finn's voice in my head. "What now?! Don't tell me shit like rubbing the back of his neck. It fucking didn't work," I said. Torrent snorted his nose, urging me to catch up with Lucian. "Fuck, Torrent. Sometimes I get the feeling that you're fucking riding me! You can get as fast as you can, I don't give a shit as long as my ass is still on the saddle. I'm busy having a conversation with my fucking wolf," I patted Torrent's neck and said.

  • Louisa Unchained   Chapter 257

Lucas' POV "What's on her fucking mind?" I said. I was really fed up with women in my life. They were so fucking unpredictable. Lucian said, "She's gone this morning after Louisa told her off in front of everyone. And we've lost contact with Kylo. He took away our best people and our soldiers in the camp were either killed or wounded. Louisa tried to treat some of the soldiers this morning, but it will still take a few days before they're fully recovered." "Kylo's fucking with me! He sent his fucking sister to mess up with my soldiers. His father was with me and he still dares to fuck with me! Why does he do this to me?! Why did he betray me?!" I kicked the grass on the ground and said. "I don't know. If you left that traveling druid alive, we could have asked him," Lucian said. "Stop blaming me! That fucking asshole was blabbing about my fucking identity in front of Louisa!" I said. "Why don't you just tell her who you really are?

  • Louisa Unchained   Chapter 256

Louisa's POV Derek put his hand into his pocket. Colt thought he was about to take out a weapon or something, so he stepped forward, trying to stop him. "This..." Derek took out an amber-colored stone from his pocket and said. "This is Amber of Star. I want to give this... to your friend. I got it from... Underground City. With this stone, people can communicate with the soul... of their beloved deceased ones... I'm sorry that..." "I don't want anything from you." Mata cried out. "You took away my brother's life and there's nothing you can do to make up for it! He's dead! You killed him! You took him away from me! I have been staying with my brother ever since I first opened my eyes, and now his eyes will never open again. He can never hold my hands when I'm scared! It's a big scary world out there and I'm always scared!" "But you can talk to your brother... As if he's still alive..." Derek tried to explain. "You just don't understand, do

  • Louisa Unchained   Chapter 255

Louisa's POV The fire spreading all over my body dimmed. I stared at Derek and walked closer to him. He looked panicked and desperate at the same time. "What's the matter with you?! Where's the fire?! I have just killed your friend! Why don't you kill me with that fire of yours?!" He barked at me like a mad dog. I didn't say anything but kept stepping closer to him. "Come on! Hit me with a fireball or something! Hit here!" Derek pointed at the empty void in his left chest and said. "Don't you want revenge on behalf of your friend?" I stood right in front of him. Still, I didn't say anything. In despair, he grabbed my arm and said, "Come on! Hit me!" "Where is Darren," I said. "Take me to see him." "You'll never see my brother again..." He said with a sadistic grin. Before he could finish his sentence, I strangled his neck. He didn't protest or struggle. Instead, he kept smirking at me. I did

  • Louisa Unchained   Chapter 254

Louisa's POV The smirk on Derek's face was gone and replaced by ferocious malice. "Let me correct you, Miss Louisa Reeds. Nobody is supposed to be dead. We were born into this world to live our lives and hug our beloved ones, not to destroy and manipulate other people's lives." He looked exasperated for a brief moment, but then he regained his cool. "I used to serve Lucas when I was young and vulnerable. He's such a hypocrite and he used my innocence and love for him to take control of me. He came into my life without notice. When he was gone, he took everything away from me, including my life... and he told me it was for my own good! He locked me up in a cave and let those monsters torture me to death! And is this for my own good?!" Derek pulled off his shirt and let me see his naked chest. I could see there was a hole in his left chest. The place where his heart used to be. I was horrified and stepped backward. At that time, I rea
