Father.

Charlotte POV.

"Charlotte, little girl, you're not a monkey, come down," Luna yells from below me, but I ignored her and kept on climbing, I loved nature, I loved the trees, and I felt at home right in here.

"A monkey!" I yell back at Luna how dare she call me monkey, she's a bitch, a female dog, she's a she-wolf, and my babysitter. Both mine and Olli, but Oliver acts like such a stuck-up bitch that doesn't need a sitter, he acts as if he's a million years old instead of being in his twenties, I don't know what climbed up his ass, but it sure as hell didn't come back down.

"Yes, monkey, you're the one climbing up the tree, not me," she yells again.

"Right, you're the one barking at it," I say in a low voice hoping she won't hear me, but she did, Luna was a great babysitter, she loves kids, but once you pass the ten years old mark, she turns into the worst bitch you've ever met, and I'm dead.

"Come here, you little rude puppy," she says and climbs after me, I love Luna to death, teasing her is my favourite game since Olli doesn't care whatever I tell him, he just acts like the bigger person and never plays back with me, never yell or fight, he's always just acting as the bigger guy.

"Luna, wait! Wait!" I yell trying to move, trying to tap into my magic to tell my magic to come and save me, but the fear had me moving and not thinking with magic. Luna caught me as expected and dragged me down from the tree, yelling and screaming.

"You little brat," she scolded me as we finally made it to the ground, I made sure it wasn't that easy for her.

"Not my fault, you should've left me up there," I whined, I loved the tree, and I loved sitting on top.

"Right, because you're such a skilled monkey, and when you fall and Madame comes home, she'll blame Luna for you getting hurt," she says angrily at me, I didn't think about Mom, she trusts Luna with us, Luna is the one who has practically raised us.

"I'm sorry Luna," I say looking down at my feet.

"Oh you're gonna be sorry," she says and slaps my bum twice, I yelled with both smacks, that wasn't fair.

"What are these for," I say rubbing my sore bum.

"For climbing, to begin with and calling me a dog, how rude of you, I'm a wolf," she says, and I had to hold back my smile, that wolf loves sarcasm and sass as much as Mom and me.

"Luna, you should put her on a leash," Oliver suggests.

"Leashes are for dogs Oliver, your sister is a cat," she says with a slight smile, she always says I look like a cat and act like one.

"Right, next time she climbs the tree, we'll call the firefighters," Oliver says with a chuckle.

"You're not too old to have your bum spanked Oliver," she scolds him next and I can't help my laughter, I laughed out loud at him, poor Olli, not really, even the good boy had his fair share of having his bum spanked.

"Hey kids," Mom says joining us in the backyard, I ran in and gave her a hug, I loved that woman, and she loved me back.

"Missed you too Char-char," that was mom's nickname to me since the day I was born.

"Now that you're here Madame, I must leave," Luna says with her thick accent, she has a wolf's accent one that she refuses to tell me where she had it from, from her past I guess.

"Did they cause any troubles?" Mom asks our sitter and nanny.

"Troubles?" Luna says with a chuckle, and mom only shakes her head.

"Sorry, I mean did they cause any bodily or material injuries?" she asks.

"Oh nu, they were perfect as always," Luna says, giving both of us a kiss and then leaving to get back home.

"Mommy," I say trying to sound as innocent as I can, I've been asking the same question for a whole year now and she won't give me an answer.

"Yes?" Mom answers knowing the question to come.

"Who's my father?" I ask her like I was doing for so long, every day, I just want to know.

"A man who's not in our life anymore," Mom says with a sad smile.

"Mom, I know it's not Luna, or someone from the coven, I mean honestly, I'm twelve and I know none of them are your type, so who is it?" I ask her, hoping one day she'll tell me, one day she'll give in.

"Wow, she's smart mother, does she know it's not me either?" Oliver asks chiming in, he's busy reading a book, always up to learn something new.

"Not funny Oliver," I groaned, I was pretty sure he knew the truth, but he won't tell me either.

"Very funny if you ask me, now if you'll excuse me, my roast is done," he says going to the kitchen, Luna has taught him how to cook while she said that I'm such a lost cause even making toast is going to be difficult for me.

"You don't need to know him," Mom says.

"Why not?" I ask her.

"You're too young," she says as she keeps on telling me that I'm too young to know who my real father is.

"I'm not young," I say frustrated and go to my own room to lock myself in, there's other ways to know who my father is going to be, whether she tells me or not.

I got one of the books that talked about origins and how to identify the person in front of you, how to know what they are, it's not just a normal spell, it's more of an experiment.

But getting the stuff to do this experience was hard, I needed a lot of herbs from mom's private workspace, I needed to use the stove without getting caught by Luna, and above all of that, I had no idea what I was doing, maybe I could tell Oliver I'm trying to learn a new spell and he'd help me.

I read the spell one last time and started to think of lies I could tell Olli so he'd be okay with doing the spell together, so he'd help me with it, tomorrow, when mom is gone and Luna is busy, I'll ask him, she isn't always looking at us, sometimes she spends the day watching TV.

During the next week, I have tried to stay on Olli's good side, needing his help and approval, he knew something was off with me being nice, I'm never nice, but for now, I am. After a whole week, both of us got tired from being nice to each other and he asked me what I wanted, and why was I so nice until now.

"I want to do an experiment," I say to him.

"What kind?" he asks me with a raised brow.

"A species determination spell," I say.

"Why?" he says confused.

"I'm trying to determine what kind of magic I'll be good at, and I want to try that kind of magic," I say casually.

"You could've asked mom," he says looking at me with a raised brow.

"She's busy building up her amperor," I answer him honestly, she loves us, but she's busy and Luna is always here for us.

"But she'll make you time if you need help with magic," he says.

"I know, but if I'm bad at it, I don't want Mom to see it, can't you help me?" I ask him, giving him my best kitten eyes.

"Fine, I'll help you, have you read the spell? Get everything ready?" he asks me, and I nod, I have read it a million times and I'm ready to get what we need from Mom's private collection, and we got the stove and I got Olli to take care of it.

"I'll get the ingredients," I say and run off to get them before he changes his mind and refuses to help me with it.

"I'll meet you in the kitchen, get your spell books," Olli yells after me, I got everything needed and met him in the kitchen, the spell was a detailed one, not too hard, and I put all my attention into it, I had very high hops with it.

I did all of the mixing, while Oliver supervised, he put the pot on the stove and stirred it, reading the spell in Latin, my Latin wasn't near as good as his, and mom said that I needed to keep on practising until I master that language.

"You know, you should be the one doing this, and not me," Oliver says looking at me with a side glare.

"Why?" I ask him.

"Because you want to try and practice, and the stove is part of the spell," he says.

"You know kids, I remember the day where real witches cooked their spells in cauldron and used woods for spells," Luna says walking into the kitchen and taking a peak at what we're doing.

"Luna, do you trust me with a cauldron and wood fire?" I ask her with a sassy smile.

"You? I hardly trust you with a toaster," she groans making me chuckle.

"Thank you for the input Luna, the spell is ready, who's hair do you want to use?" Oliver says.

"Mine," I say right away, I want to know what I am.

"Maybe it's better if we use Luna's hair, we know she's a wolf," Olive says, making Luna growl, she doesn't want to be tested.

"Don't upset her, we can try mine, I'm the one who wanted to do this spell," I say quickly pulling one of my hair and dropping it in the mix.

The mix turned yellowish green, it's a mix of the two colours, I know that I have read the spell more than once, but there's nothing about this lime colour.

"What does it mean?" I ask Oliver looking at the colour with confusion.

"We must have messed up the spell," Olli said but I didn't believe him we did it by the dot, we did everything the spell told us to do, but it turned a weird colour.

"You want to ask mom about it?" Olli suggests.

"No, I'm fine," I say and walk away from the kitchen feeling hurt, lime colour?

"Char-char, princess," Luna said but I ignored her and kept on walking, I went to my room and plopped face first on the bed, that was one wasted week, a whole week being nice to Olli and all I got is a failed spell.

"Char-char," Mom says walking in my room that evening, I haven't left my bed the whole day, I decided to stay in there, to stay hidden.

"Yes?" I ask her.

"You did a spell," she says looking at me with compassion in her eyes, it's the look she gives when she's about to deliver some bad news.

"I did," I answer her, she knows it failed as well.

"You really want to know who your father is right?" she says and I nod.

"Are you going to let this go?" he asked me and I shook my head no.

"Your spell it didn't work, what's your next move?" she asks me.

"I'm still looking into spells, I live in the house of Madame Witch, I'll find one that works," I answer her.

"You're going to keep on trying?" she asks me.

"Do you know me to ever give up?" I ask her, I don't give up on anything I want, let alone knowing my own father.

"Get me the book you got the spell from," she says and I look at her with worry, she's taking away my books?

"I'm not taking it away, I want to show you something," she says and I bring her the book, it was hidden under my bed, she flipped through the pages until she found the spell I used, she looked at the results and pointed at one.

"Chartreuse that's what you are," she tells me.

"What's that colour mean?" I say not even understanding what it means.

"Green-ish yellow, or lime colour, stands for the mix of two species," she says.

"I'm not human," I say offended.

"I know you're not, god no. You are a mix of human and fey," she says, so that means that my father is fey, but who is he?

"Who is he?" I ask her.

"A guy that left us and never came back, you don't even want to know him," she says with a shake of her head, she sounded as hurt as me, she sounded so sad that she lost him whoever he is, I didn't want to upset her, so I stayed quiet, we both lost him.
