Marie sits opposite him, her heart twisted into knots she will not untangle. The poor light filters in room after room, casting an almost otherworldly glow on the features of Leo-hard, cold profile softened by the rich amber shades. She draws a slow breath to steady herself. She had always known Leo-untiring and unrelenting, his ruthlessness slicing through people without a second thought. But tonight, she's hoping to see a different side of him.

"Leo," she begins with softness, showing no quiver in her tone, "isn't it enough? This vendetta against Nolan. haven't you punished him enough?"
