2 more coming today. Just have editing to do to them then I'll upload. I need to do mom stuff then I will get back to work. This has 15 chapters to go and will be done by next week. Book 1 goes to print the beginning of August.
Adorable. She is fiery but adorable. I stared, hoping for her to turn so I could see more of the possessiveness that I caught a glimpse of on her adorable face.Beretta smiles, following my line of sight while looking truly happy for me. She lifts her shoulders, letting all the weight of what's to come bear down on her body again, then shrugs her shoulders with a deep breath before pulling away.“Okay, ladies. I have a mate back home to claim, and Cecilia now has one here that I'm sure she'd like to claim soon too. Let’s head out to-”“Beretta,” another woman from outside in the hall interrupted her. “There is one more prisoner in this hall.""One of our men?" She asked, looking at me before turning to look back at the woman. I didn't want to deny it was one of our warriors, but I don't think it is."I don't think so. She....She looks hurt. Badly. When you found your friend, we checked the other rooms and found her. We can’t get her chains off, though.”Beretta quickly leaves the room
“Not even a damn thank you,” Beretta muttered, shaking her head.I followed her lead and changed back into human form. My spirits sail when Cecilia reaches out to grab my hand on her own once I’m done. It’s a very possessive hold, and I love it. I hope she grows more and more possessive. I want her to be confident in her ownership of me."Do you want to go chase her down and force some gratitude from her?" I lifted my brows at Beretta."No," she sighs. "Poor thing was scared out of her mind. Can't blame her for that."I don't think she was scared of us. I think her breed just doesn't do well in crowds like this, and she left before she accidently hurt us. Beretta and many of the others might not even suspect what that girl was, but I can tell that the elvish girl had caught on. She gives me a wise, knowing look, and we both just keep quiet, keeping the girl's secret.“Let’s go,” Beretta, ushers everyone out of the room.I take the lead, Cecilia tucked behind me and the Elvish girl I s
Lachlan POVThe ride back from the border should have taken us all day, but Killian pushed himself to the limit, and then some. We made it back in hours. King Brennus and Cedric stayed with me, riding on my heals. I know it was the siren king's magic that helped my stamina and the stamina of their horses to keep up the heavy pace. I am grateful, because I would have killed myself trying to get back to her on my own abilities.Several miles from the castle, the mind links started coming in. The pack mind was frantic. There were so many orders being given by Cherum and Percy, and so many warriors and pack members responding that it was impossible for me to understand what was going on. Killian snarls ferociously through the link, “WHERE IS SHE?!”The link goes silent, just a rabid energy pulsing through. Then, Cherum makes my teeth grind together at his words. “She’s gone.” The pain in the pack mind link is suffocating. My pain is tearing my soul apart. “We are searching for her now
Since there are so many different things going on at the same time, I wrote the next several chapters out and am now trying to tie them together in the most logical order. Thanks for your understanding and patience as I wrap up this book. Endings are the hardest when writing a book because you have to tie everything back together and made sure everything and everyone has closure. 12 chapters left in this book, and two more chapters will be coming today. Book one is getting ready to go to print on August 4th and I will be doing more giveaways in my group. The first 5 winners of the first drawing, your editor edition books will be sent out Friday! My husband will be doing another special reading in my group on August 4th (we call it Textual Tension with Mr. H.), and at the end we will do a big giveaway drawing for a signed copy of book one, and a bunch of other goodies.
earlier….Elelira POVMy heart was hammering in my chest as one of my uncle’s men carried me over his shoulder. He kept me flung over his lap while riding on the back of the horse, but now he is in Lycan form. The pig tried to get hands with me over and over again, but I wouldn’t have it. Every time his hands touched or squeezed a part of my body, I would elbow him in the gut, slap him, and one time, I even managed to get my fist down on his crotch. He reared back to hit me with that last one, but my uncle ordered him to stand down and focus on their retreat if he didn’t want to get them all killed.Cherum and the other warriors were gaining on them while they were riding on the horses. One of my uncle’s scouts rode a short distance behind to keep watch, and he was sending reports to my uncle. Eventually, my uncle commanded the shift. When asked by another warrior, my uncle said that his scout was already sprinting to catch up, but by the look on his face, I could tell the scout was
“Another attempt and I will end you,” I hissed in his ear, tightening my grip to hear him choke. “WHERE ARE THEY?!” I demanded. He is flailing in my chokehold. His nails are digging into my arm, struggling for freedom and to suck in a breath of air. I loosen my hold just enough so he can speak. “Lord Tenebris,” he chokes. “The north.”I have no clue who this lord is. If he is the one in charge of demons, I can only guess how monstrous of a Lord he might be. “Are they alive?” I seethed. “Tell me the truth. Are my Beta and friend alive?”“YES!” he gasped, drool gathering and foaming at the corners of his mouth. I squeeze tighter, just for the thrill of cutting off his airway and watching him struggle. He didn’t mention any of the other men that accompanied Beretta and Nilo. That must mean that they are all dead. And he not only knew of those events, he had to have had a hand in them. “That attack. Did you orchestrate that to get my mate to leave with his army for the border?” I aske
Beretta POVThis is stupid. It's like we are all just waiting around in the lobby of some demon inn to die after working so hard to escape. We didn't work so hard to get here for nothing. I'm not turning back now. What the hell is going on?“Who is that girl?” Irrita stared up at Nilo’s Lycan. He just shakes his head, not knowing. What girl? I slowly slink up next to them to see who they are talking about. The stench of the demons and the general smell of the decaying world outside makes me want to gag. This is hell. We have been taken to literal hell. My eyes scanned outside searching for something or someone that seemed out of place in this hell, so I could figure out who they were talking about. Then, my chest vibrates with violent hatred.Irrita, Cecilia and Nilo looked at me in confusion. I had to shift back to tell them who she really was.“Angelina,” I sneered. “That’s Angelina. Alpha Wayne’s daughter.”The girl is older now, but I recognized her right away. She was the only w
Lachlan POVWhen we got to the place where Percy and the rest of the hunting party were waiting to receive further instructions, I was mortified to see the damage my mate had done. Mortified and impressed.I knew she was strong, stronger than most, but she alone took out a dozen experienced and bulking warriors. All on her own. The carnage was unimaginable. Killian was oddly proud, but still a bit disturbed that she could handle this level of fighting without any help. Cherum's Lycan looked sick, coughing and gagging as we passed the worst of it. “She saved herself,” Percy said as Cherum, King Brennus, Cedric and I came to a cropping of large rocks. "She told us not to follow her and that she saved herself."The other warriors that traveled with us spread out to join the search for all the severed body parts and to see if there were any more traces of her scent. The gore was littered everywhere and Cherum ordered her guard to be sure that she wasn’t missing a limb or so much as a to
