When we got to the pack, I noticed that they had their own little town set up with shops of all kinds, a school, and a post office. I said, "Does anyone venture into a human town at all?" Beta Rule says, "No, Luna. They are all afraid." I said, "How are humans supposed to get any other idea of what you are if they aren't exposed to you?" He shrugged his shoulders and said, "Beats me. That's the same argument I've made." I said, "When was the last time a human actually ran into one of you?" He said, "The last recorded one was fifty years ago." I said, "Okay. A lot has happened since then, and humans actually want to see a werewolf." Alpha Arnou says, "The werewolf and vampire books." I said, "Those books have been turned into movies, and people are actually choosing if they want to be on the vampire side or the werewolf side." Alpha Arnou and Beta Rule laugh and say, "If they only knew the truth." We all laugh together as we enter Alpha's office.
The Alpha's office is not som

One of the men on the council furrowed his brows, "Would you care to explain that statement?" I said, "Certainly. You see, it is in our basic nature to protect. We protect our mates, our children and our pack with a fierceness that cannot be matched. When we love, we love with everything in us. There is no divorce in the wolf community. The Moon Goddess, our creator, sends our mate. We normally only have one mate for our entire life. That mate is the one who completes us; the other half of our soul, if you will. If our mate rejects us, we feel it in our heart. It is a physical pain that is awful. If they don't get a second chance mate, their wolf can die, then the person dies." The woman on the council said, "That sounds so romantic." I said, "We don't see it as romantic. We see it as everyday life. There are instances when a wolf can go mad. If they are rejected or banished from the pack. Those are the two main reasons. When this happens, they usually end up having to be put down.
We were shown to a very plush room, with a down feather comforter and silk sheets on the bed. The furniture looked like it belonged to royalty. It included a very necessary mosquito net over the bed. We had a balcony off of our bedroom and a coffee maker next to the french door leading to the balcony. I had already decided I would be using that each morning we are here. We took our showers and I dressed in my new black sundress. I'm brushing out my hair when I see Damien looking extra yummy in his black t-shirt and his jeans hanging low on his waist. He must have seen my eyes change, because he smiles and says, "Later, Yara. We don't have time right now." I had to fight Yara to retreat to the back of my mind. I said, "She was being quite insistent on staying up front this time. You look particularly yummy tonight." He chuckled and said, "You look quite tasty yourself," as he wrapped his arms around me. I finished brushing my hair, put it in a high ponytail, and put on
I said, "I'm sure my mate didn't tell you about it, because he tries his best to protect me. I have already had several attempts on my life, and I've been kidnapped a couple times because of it. My pack and everyone around me protect me fiercely." Alpha Arnou stood and everyone got quiet, "My pack, after what we all just witnessed, Luna Abby has told me that, because of what she is, she has had several attempts on her life, and she has been kidnapped twice. I now ask you; will you all promise to keep who she is within this pack and protect her as though she were one of ours?" There was a collective, "We will" and a loud applause. Damien leaned into me and said, "You do this to wolves everywhere you go. Nobody can hate you. It's impossible." I said, "It's very possible... Don't forget Dina." He said, "Dina was batshit crazy. She doesn't count." I shook my head and smirked at him, "You're also very biased." Alpha Arnou said, "He's right. Everyone calms down as you make your pr
After placing a huge order at the bakery to be shipped to our pack and placing an order to be picked up on our way out of town in two days, Damien and I get in the Hummer with Ely and Eivin and we are on our way to the pack. Alpha and Beta will be later than us, because they have all the kids with them. I need to get back so that I can eat lunch, then start getting ready for the gathering after I help get the kids settled in. It's another busy day today. When we get to the packhouse, I went straight to the dining room. While Damien and I were eating, Alpha Arnou and Beta Rule came in with the kids. They were all laughing, so I took this as a good sign. Alpha offered to let them sit at his table, and they took him up on it. They all got a plate of food and a drink and sat down with us. When Alpha stood, the pack went quiet. He said, "You all are aware of the kids that are coming out to film us. This is them. When I call your name, please stand. Sergio is the oldest. He is six
After my shower, I was sitting at the make-up table, in my robe, while the hair and make-up ladies were working their magic on me. Damien walked in the room in a black tux and I started salivating. "Damn," I smiled, "How did I get so lucky?" He smiled and said, "I ask myself theat every day." I asked him, "Would you mind checking on the guys? I also want to tell them not to film the guests without their permission." He said, "I already told them that and they looked at me like I was stupid. They told me that it would be rude to do that." I laughed and said, "They must really want this if they are on their best behavior." He said, "Or they're afraid of us still." I said, "I hope not." When my hair and make-up were done, I went to the closet and chose a dark purple gown. I put on my shoes and walked out of the closet. Damien stood up and said, "I like that color on you. It makes your eyes look brighter." I smiled and said, "Thank you. It matches Anna's gown. I thought she woul
Damien and I were still standing there, when another huge man walked up to us. "Hello. You must be Alpha Damien and Luna Abby, from Red Fang Pack." Damien nodded and said, "We are. And you are?" He said, "I am Alpha Erick Fontenot from Shadow Pack. I have already heard a lot about you and the good you are doing for The Swamp Nightwalkers". Damien said, "You can thank my mate for that. She's the one with the heart to pull this all together. I could've never come up with these ideas." I poked him in the ribs, laughed, and said, "You could've, but sometimes, you need a she-wolf to bring out your caring side." Alpha Erick said, "I would love an alliance with your pack. I would also love to invite you to come visit my pack and see if anything can be done to improve relations with humans in my area." I said, "I'm sure we could stop in at your pack for a day or two, after we visit these other three packs." That was when Anna showed up again. I said, "We could make sure you get the
All three Alphas were smiling at me as though they were saying, "How cute," in their heads and it was really starting to piss me off. I looked at Damien and said, "Should I demonstrate?" He said, "But your gown?" I said, "I can fight in a ball gown without messing it up. I won't even make them bleed." Damien laughed and they all had a look of confusion as he nodded his head and I said, "Please, Alphas, let me demonstrate. I will take all of you on at the same time. Please, don't be gentle, either. I promise, I can take it." Damien said, "Trust me... She can take it." I kicked off my shoes and said, "I will take off my shoes, so I can't hurt you with them. I will not hurt you; just disable you... temporarily." They all stood there at first, then Alpha Ryne was the first to lunge for me. I dodged the attack and elevated all of us. While they were all disoriented from being off the ground, I swept all their legs out from under them. They all landed on their backs and star
I went inside to get my plate and I asked Ely and Eivin to come outside and eat with me. We sat at the picnic table as we watched the kids get on the backs of my mate and the other Alphas. After some other pack members showed them how to hold on and how to signal that they need to stop, they all went behind trees to shift. When they were all gathered, they all took off into the woods to my right. A few minutes later, we were eating our breakfast and I just happened to look to my left. I caught sight of an alligator walking up to us. I told the guys to sit on the table and I elevated the alligator to eye level for me. I started walking toward it when Ely said, "Luna, please don't get too close to it. Alpha would kill us if you got hurt." I said, "I'm not going to get too close, but something is going on. I haven't seen a single alligator before now." I walked until I was three feet from it and said, "Let's talk. I ask, you answer. Got it?" It nodded. I said, "Wh
