Wilbur stared at a now-relieved Gertridge. "You don't think I killed Wolf of Venom because of you, right?"

"I know. He was just too cocky," Gertridge said with a smile.

"What do you mean by that?"

"That guy has always been arrogant as hell just because he thinks he's an amazing cultivator and doesn't respect anyone but our leader. It's a given you were going to take him down for acting like that on your grounds," Gertridge said.

Wilbur smiled. "How are you so sure I was going to kill him?"

"I wasn't. But as I said, I didn't have anywhere else to run. I just let fate decide," Gertridge said, shrugging her shoulders.

Wilbur scoffed. "Leave this place right now, and never let me see you again. Got it?"

He then looked around him.

Harry was still collapsed on the ground, lying in a pool of his own filth. His friends were shivering in a heap, their faces pale and devoid of any of the cockiness from earlier.
