The Dark Messenger would take a step forward after observing each guest, and it was not long before he reached Wilbur. The Dark Messenger stopped in his tracks, staring Wilbur down. "Have I seen you somewhere before, buddy?"

"W-What?"

Wilbur put on a terrified expression. "Did you mistake me for someone else, Mister Cultivator? I swear I've never seen you before."

The Dark Messenger looked firmly into Wilbur's eyes. "Cut it out, Wilbur Penn. I know it's you."

Wilbur froze. "S-Sir, I don't know who W-Wilbur Penn is. P-Please forgive me…"

"Right. I was just joking, I hope you don't mind."

"T-Thank you, sir."

The Dark Messenger moved on to the next person. A little over ten minutes later, the innkeeper walked over with a smile. "Have you found your guy, sir?"

"No."

"That's such a shame. Please don't hesitate to let me know if there's anything else I can help with, though."

The Dark Messenger then walked out of the room with the innkeeper. Wilbur heaved a sigh of relief
