Chapter 1983

Kearson instantly frowned when he saw the empty wooden box. He said with an innocent face, "Oh, how could it be? I placed the bronze cauldron inside last night. Why is it gone?"

He turned to his assistant and said, "Carter, I told you to keep watch last night. What happened? I can't believe you made such a horrible mistake on such an important matter. How am I going to explain myself to Mister Penn?"

Carter also looked innocent to Kearson's scolding. He had stayed up the whole night, after all. He had been surveilling the museum. He said with determination in his eyes, "It's impossible, Mister Kearson. I've been here the whole night. I swear no one entered the museum."

Kearson took the wooden box and asked with a displeased face, "If that's the case, explain why it's missing."

Carter felt troubled too. The bronze cauldron was missing, after all. However, he was sure that no thief entered the museum because he had been up all night.
