Kamsy stood in his father’s office, the tension in the air thick and suffocating. He watched Inishola, his father, pace back and forth, his movements sharp and agitated. The weight of his father’s frustration pressed heavily on Kamsy’s shoulders.

“Why didn’t she tell us about the note?” Inishola asked again, his voice a low growl. He adjusted his blue suit jacket, a briefcase ready by his side for his trip to Florida. He had a mission to attend to, but now this unexpected issue with Emily was throwing everything off balance.

“She didn’t think much about it,” Kamsy replied, trying to keep his tone steady. “And the other day, she got attacked at school by a hooded man.”

Inishola’s eyes flashed with anger. “And you are just telling me this now?” he roared, making Kamsy flinch. The intensity of his father’s fury was palpable.

“Sorry, Father,” Kamsy said quickly. “I thought I could handle everything. You’re busy, and I didn’t want to involve you.”
