Chapter 98; Withheld Gratification

When Cody and Seth made it back to Golden springs they were both exhausted from all the ups and downs. They went to their rooms and fell asleep. Myra’s shift was over and she happily made for Cody’s house, she knew there was nothing to eat at her hostel and she had used all her money on reading materials and other needs, she was hoping to pack some groceries from Cody’s house but she rang the bell severally to no response. She lurked around for a while then finally left with a disappointed look on her face. She didn’t go back to her hostel she took a cab and went straight home.

Several hours later Cody woke up and called home to speak to the children. He exchanged some pleasantries with Nina and hanged up. He came out of his room and went to sit in the living room and buried himself in his thoughts. Seth joined him in the living room minutes later looking well rested.

“I kind of miss Cecil” he remarked and Cody smiled.
