Thanks to his demonic abilities, Damon literally flew over the wall to the garden at the back of the Monroe family house, then crept among the trees, searching for the one person he was looking for. It wasn't even five minutes when he finally saw her again. She was just walking outside, breathing deeply, and shortly after headed towards the "wild" part of the garden. Damon followed her until the girl stopped right next to a fallen tree at the end of the garden and sat down on a huge log, slightly stroking its bark. At the sight of this, Damon's heart jumped up with excitement. While looking at that memorable tree that was about to kill her, did she thought of him? No, he couldn't hope for too much. Finally Damon stepped out from behind the trees and slowly walked towards her.

Selene was sitting on a tree stump, wondering if she would ever see even once that strange demon who had saved her life. She wanted it with all her heart, even though knew that the next time he probably wo

Selene shifted restlessly on the bed. Another nightmare broke her from sleep, but this time she fought her pursuer, but could not defeat him. After all, this dream was better than the old one, because Selene knew who was persecuting her, and thanks to recently revealed power, she didn't feel so vulnerable.Selene opened her eyes slowly and looked at the alarm clock on the bedside table - it was showing three in the morning. Selene was afraid of what destiny had in store for her, and was afraid that, despite all her skills, she would lose the fight against Alistair. She felt more terrified, however, at the fact that could die much earlier at the hand of a demon sent on her, and after all, Damon was sent up 'up' just for that - to kill her. Still, Selene knew that if his kin would take the charm off him and he would want to kill her afterwards, she wouldn't be able to defend herself against him, so would surely die. The same fate befell her predecessor - she trusted the demon, wa

Salvadore sat in his cave, on the armchair, completely lost in thoughts.- What's Johhan doing there for so long?- Chris asked as he entered the room.- Don't pick on my brother, he has a hard job ahead of him after all...- replied Salvadore, breaking out of his thoughts.- To find something on Damon, you really have to follow him for a long while.- he added.- Exactly, Chris. We will have to be patient as it may take a long time.- Marco agreed with him.- Unfortunately.- Salvadore sighed, still staring into space.- So, are you going to sit back and wait, just like that?- Chris exclaimed indignantly.- And what are we supposed to do?- Marco asked, measuring him with his eyes.- Go over there and do it in own way. Sooner we will see a coronation of Damon than we find any evidence incriminating him! There is no reason to wait! We have to eliminate the contender for the ruler of the Underworld, make a coup d'état and take over the trone!- Chris

The next two weeks of July passed Selene in another meetings with Damon. Alice was hiding them so well that her aunt ignored the fact that she had sensed the presence of a demon in the vicinity from time to time, after all, there had been no attack at all, so she assumed they were probably hanging around looking for opportunities for now. This time was priceless for Selene, full of boundless happiness. Still, she was aware that one day it would come to an end, and at the mere thought of a longer separation from her beloved, she shuddered with some fear. Selene was sure she wouldn't last long in such a state. For now, however, she wanted to enjoy it and take full advantage of the fact that her and Damon could get together relatively calmly. Her lessons with Rita, Meredith, Isabelle, and Johnathan were getting better and better. Selene felt she would reign over her powers quickly, and if survive until her eighteenth birthday, she would be more than powerful enough to defeat Alist

Selene and Alice went downstairs and went straight to the kitchen.- Hello, girls.- Elisabeth gave each of them a kiss on the cheek as a greeting.- It's so nice to see you again.- Alice grinned at her. Selene, too, gave her a radiant smile.- Are you going to the garden today?- Meredith asked, putting their plates on the table.- Yes, as always.- Selene replied, sipping her orange juice.- What about the rest? Are they going to have breakfast?- Alice looked questioningly at Elisabeth and Meredith.- Everyone's already after breakfast.- said Mrs. Spelling.- As far as we know, Johnathan and Isabelle went home, Teresa went to her sister, Maria is at her room, and Rita too, I think.- she added.- Oh, okay, got it.- Alice assured, smiling slightly. After breakfast, Selene had another lesson, this time with her aunt, Rita, and Elisabeth. Now was the turn of the exercise in combining the power of the Elements. It was a little reluctant to Selene, bu

Johhan rushed to the Underworld as fast as he could. Salvadore saw him first, or actually sensed his approaching aura, they were brothers after all, and then informed the others of his brother's arrival.- Finally. I already thought that he would stay on the surface forever.- Chris sighed.- Hope he found something useful.- Marco added hopefully. At that moment Johhan entered the cave, smiling broadly.- So, how it went, brother? Do you have something interesting for us?- Salvadore asked, watching his unusual joy carefully. He knew his brother, who was usually gloomy like the undertaker.- Of course, as always.- Johhan replied, and Chris smiled dismissively at that, but he ignored it and just continued.- Damon broke the law of the demons. He fell in love with the sorceress, and on top of that with the "chosen one" he is supposed to kill. So, in total, Damon also broke another law, to strictly follow the superior's orders.- he announced.- Are you sure?-

Marco and Chris had been chosen by Salvadore, so they went, albeit reluctantly, to the surface to look for Damon and bring him to the Underworld. Walking down the street, they attracted a lot of attention, especially of the opposite sex. They would certainly have enjoyed this visit more if they weren't here "on business" and had more time to play with some innocent little soul. Unfortunately, they had no time for anything else than work, as Alistair surely wanted Damon in his hands as soon as possible, to quickly immerse him in the Lake of Darkness, so that he could safely complete his mission and get rid of the "chosen one".They created a kind of contrast - Marco had a dark complexion, black, slightly curly hair, while Chris was pale, with blonde hair in a very light shade. In addition, he was a head taller than his companion and terribly thin. Marco, on the other hand, had broad shoulders and an overall muscular body. They both wore knee-length black coats, trousers of the s

Salvadore paced his cave nervously again. Johhan was sitting in his chair, shaking his head in disbelief.- I was sure it was more than a charm. I should be able to tell it apart.- he said as if to himself.- Maybe you're even right about it, but Alistair won't believe you, especially since he saw a change in Damon's behavior when they emerged him from the water. However, in my opinion, he did some theater there. It wasn't honest... It looked as if the water had no effect on him, and Damon was just pretending to Alistair otherwise.- Salvadore replied.- It had to work on him. It works on everybody.- Johhan interjected.- Maybe not on the hybrids?- his brother suggested, still pacing back and forth through the cave.- It works even on Fallen Angels, so it should do on all sorts of hybrids too. The Lake of Darkness has too much power for any creature to resist its effects.- Johhan replied.- Well, I don't understand any of it anymore. That's why we need t

Damon's anger was indeed waning, and helplessness was slowly taking its place. He felt as if all his life energy was leaving him along with anger, and when became like a normal demon again, he fell to his knees, completely exhausted. At this moment one of Alistair's troops moved to attack him. Damon knew he was too weak to defend himself, so he closed his eyes and suddenly felt someone grab his hand, then as if he felt nothing for a few seconds. When Damon opened his eyes two minutes later, he was lying on the bed in the makeshift hospital, Selene was holding his hand, crying, and Maria raised her hands over his body. He clearly felt some power begin to spread over his body. Damon slowly began to regain his strength, and Selene, seeing him awake, beamed as she wiped away her tears.- How are you feeling?- she asked, her voice still apprehensive.- Okay.- Damon replied, and Selene sighed with relief.- But how did I get here? The last thing I remember is an army of demons th

Around 11 p.m. the fight became even more fierce than before. Eleazar was increasingly unable to keep up with the teleporting of the wounded, Maria and the angels also felt a slight panic - their makeshift hospital was filling up at an alarming rate, and as little as one person left it, several other wounded appeared in this place. Fatigue and impatience with the still uncertain result of the battle clearly troubled all figthing. Tess, despite the support from others and short breaks, was slowly losing strength, and her shield was starting to let through some of the stronger mental attacks. Alice also felt very tired of constantly browsing through so many, often quite complicated, minds at once. Deborah returned quickly to the battlefield, and, encouraged by victory over Salvadore, she fought as fiercely as ever.Fortunately, the battle was still remarkably even. Everyone knew that, according to the prophecy of Joan Thomson, mother of Johnathan and the great Oracle, the fate of

July 19 finally came and that day, from the very morning, Meredith felt that the opponents were approaching. Around noon, she notified everyone:- The army will soon emerge from behind the trees, they will come from the forests to the east, I feel the very strong demon energy. There are a lot of them... More than we expected. They also took the worst scums from the Underworld with them, vampires, strigoi, trolls and other monsters, all children of the darkness.- Meredith said, staring at the forest wall.- So many minds...- Alice added, focusing hard on understanding the thoughts of the enemies.- Can you read all of their minds?- Rita asked, looking at her with concern.- I understand the thoughts of the demons and the others have far less complex minds, so I have no problem understanding the thoughts of trolls, strigoi and similar creatures. It will be worse with vampires, because some of them are "shields" and therefore can block their mind just like Tess.- Al

After two days, more invited guests started arriving at the house and soon there were so many of them that on July 14 everyone had to move to a meadow behind the forest, a dozen or so kilometres from the city and only 2 kilometres from the valley where the battle was to take place.Meredith and Elisabeth brought great magicians from Siberia and elves from the Amazon rainforest. Rita gathered all members of the Spencer family - mother, father, grandmother, two sisters and another brother, Eleazar brought his thirty fellow wizards with whom he attended the school of magic, and they took their family and friends with them. Johnathan, along with Isabelle, invited his mother, five brothers and their wives, even children, who were mostly grown up and could fight demons very well. Alice notified fairies and dwarves from parallel worlds, which Johnathan helped her with by opening portals, besides that also her family, friends and acquaintances, whom she had many, in different parts of

Alistair became enormously furious each time, hearing about the next unsuccessful actions of Salvadore and his truncated gang.- If it weren't for Damon's betrayal, we'd have had it all over the head a long time ago, but now I have to struggle with such idiots like you!- Alistair shouted at Salvadore, Johhan and Chris who were just standing in front of him.- I do not understand how it is possible for almost three years, three demons at that, can not get rid of one sorceress! This is out of my mind! After all, it was possible for a single demon to do it in the past!- he gasped, giving each one of them a murderous glare.- But my lord, you don't know how many protectors are there now. Two wizards, as many as nine sorceresses, one of them is a half-angel and... It is clear that they have prepared themselves much better than before...- Salvadore tried to justify himself and his companions.- Ah, so that's the problem? You just simply don't know how to trick them!- Alistai

Before everyone knew it, another school year had arrived. Before it started, there were several more attacks from Salvadore, Johhan and Chris, but Selene was watched day and night. Later, even during her lessons at school, Damon was always somewhere around, ready to protect her, although he doubted that Salvadore would attack Selene in a place with a lot of people. Maybe he was getting more and more desperate, but for sure was not so stupid. No matter how powerful some demons were, they never risked exposing themselves to too many mortals at once.Jennifer and Sarah, Selene's school friends, also did not leave her side, as if they subconsciously knew something was going on, although in fact they were still blissfully ignorant.- How are you and Damon?- Jen asked excitedly.- Everything is fine... Even auntie got used to him.- Selene replied, recalling the last days of vacation and aunt Meredith, who was talking to Damon more and more, and as heartily as ever.- T

Johhan and Chris had a great time battling Marco and Damon. They deftly escaped their blows, and enjoyed every skirmish. However, their good mood vanished as soon as the sorceresses appeared on the horizon.- I think we have a problem.- Chris remarked.- Time to disappear.- Johhan replied, winking at him knowingly, which meant it was time for their maneuver.First they drove all attackers to the very edge of the garden, then rushed straight into the wall, baffling the demons and sorceresses chasing them for a while, cause it looked like some kind of suicide mission. But then Johhan and Marco rose right in front of the wall and found themselves on the other side of it in no time, there they came across Salvadore and with him they quickly went to the portal that teleport to the Underworld.- They're gone, damn it!- Damon was clearly irritated, and punched the ground with all his strength.- I should have guessed they'd make this maneuver.- Marco added, guilt c

Now most of them are scattered around the house and garden.- Chris replied.- So, who's attacking now?- Johhan asked, looking at each of them in turn.- I'll go.- Salvadore replied first.- What? Why? You've already been there lately.- Chris said, frowning, for he was very eager to fight.- Don't you dare to argue with me.- Salvadore replied in an indignant voice and scowled at him.Chris was about to cut in on his word, but seeing Salvadore's expression, he fell silent immediately. Johhan looked down, and although wanted to say something, he skipped any further comments. Johhan knew his brother very well and knew there was no point in arguing with him.Salvadore crossed the wall to the other side and immediately jumped on a tree branch, looked around as he checked the area, then jump
